Chapter 305: The little wolf dog opens its eyes! (19)

Mr. Wang drove in the opposite direction of Safe City; he had this idea the moment he saw the scene at the gate of Safe City.

He would find a hidden place outside to store half of the supplies and food, then take the other half into Safe City to check it out.

If anything unexpected happened, he could always come out and retrieve the hidden items.

As he drove, the sky grew darker and darker. Mr. Wang felt a growing anxiety; he had to find a place to hide the items quickly, otherwise, the two people who had just escaped would surely come looking for him.

Perhaps he should just leave this area, but it wasn't easy to find a place where he could settle down. Although it required handing over a lot of food or supplies, at least it could guarantee his personal safety.

The vehicle was driving on the road when a small fork suddenly appeared ahead, with a Bamboo Forest behind it.

Mr. Wang didn't know what was behind the Bamboo Forest, but it looked like very few people had been to this place.

So, the car turned onto this fork, its headlights illuminating the path ahead.

He stopped the car and observed the surroundings, Mr. Wang looked around.

It was silent.

He got back in the car and drove a little further inside.

"These things definitely can't be put inside residential houses; most people will search them. Although this area has already been searched, just in case, it's better not to put them in houses," Mr. Wang muttered.

By then, the sky had already darkened, and night was clearly approaching.

Chirp chirp chirp~

One or two nightingales chirped. The mountains were dark, and as night fell, the temperature dropped to nearly minus 20 degrees Celsius, making Mr. Wang feel a bit uneasy in the car.

He thought back to that house in He Park, remembering the stove, the warm room, the secure walls, and a group of subordinates...

But now, it was all gone.

The sudden wave of emotion made Mr. Wang feel a little sad. The vehicle continued along this fork for some distance.

Seeing a crude thatched hut by the roadside, Mr. Wang's heart stirred; this place was good.

There were a lot of things in the car, and they really had to be transported by vehicle. Otherwise, even if he found a very secluded place, moving them back and forth would be too much trouble.

The vehicle's engine turned off.

The car door opened, and a cold wind blew in, making Mr. Wang shiver; it was simply too cold. He had already put on his thickest clothes, but it was still very cold. This cold was the kind that chilled you to the bone.

Mr. Wang shiveringly got out of the car, then turned on his flashlight to illuminate the inside of the thatched hut, smelling a faint peculiar odor.

Mr. Wang not only didn't dislike it, but was somewhat pleased. As expected, it was just as he had guessed.

He had originally speculated that this place must have been used for raising livestock before the apocalypse.

Although there was an odor, if someone came by, they wouldn't want to go in and check, right?

Thinking of this, Mr. Wang immediately began moving the items from the car. The most abundant items were food, several large bags, which he just dropped onto the ground.

After working for more than ten minutes, he threw most of the items into the left corner of the thatched hut. At the current temperature, this thatched hut was a natural freezer.

Seeing the piled-up items, Mr. Wang thought for a moment, then scattered some more thatch over them.

Just as he finished, and stepped out of the thatched hut, closing the wooden door.

He heard a strange sound from behind him.

Hiss~

Mr. Wang's hairs instantly stood on end. The car was right beside him, just two steps away.

Mr. Wang darted forward, simultaneously turning back, his flashlight beam shining behind him.

He saw four or five zombies walking towards him. These zombies, perhaps due to the colder weather, had much paler skin.

However, their movement speed was not significantly affected by the cold weather.

When Mr. Wang saw this, his scalp tingled, and he quickly ran to the car.

Bang!

He slammed the car door shut, and immediately after, the zombies ran to the car and began pounding on the door.

Hiss!

Mr. Wang rubbed his right leg. He had gotten in so hastily that he had hit a nerve. After the numbness, and prolonged exposure to the cold, his feet were trembling slightly.

With trembling legs, he pressed the accelerator.

The car roared, quickly escaping the area. Mr. Wang completely ignored the zombies behind him.

Near Safe City, there were scattered zombies, after all, this place was once a city suburb.

On the way back, he encountered one or two zombies, but Mr. Wang drove over them.

These few zombies posed little threat, but it was a bit cold inside the car, so Mr. Wang, seeing Safe City approaching, simply turned on the air conditioning.

The warm air blew across his face, and for a moment, Mr. Wang felt his face getting warm.

Li Yu also felt his face getting a bit warm; he was licked awake by a few small wolfdogs.

Yesterday, because these few small wolfdogs had just opened their eyes and were particularly clingy to him, they followed Li Yu wherever he went. Eventually, Li Yu, having no choice, simply brought these small wolfdogs back to his room.

Anyway, it wouldn't be cold at night with the heating on.

The reason for this was that just yesterday, when he went down to feed these three small wolfdogs, they opened their eyes and saw Li Yu first.

Li Yu's scent was the most familiar to them; from the moment they were born, the first human scent they smelled was Li Yu's. Now, opening their eyes and seeing Li Yu, made the three little ones feel exceptionally close.

Li Yu's mood also fluctuated when he saw the dependence conveyed in the eyes of these three small wolfdogs.

And Li Yuan, who had just left to get milk powder, almost cried when she saw that the small wolfdogs had all opened their eyes.

"Big Brother, how come these small wolfdogs opened their eyes just as I left? I..." Li Yuan's face looked like she was about to cry.

She had been feeding these small wolfdogs every day recently, but just as she left for a moment, she was no longer the first person the small wolfdogs saw.

But what comforted her was that even though these small wolfdogs weren't as affectionate towards her as they were towards Li Yu, they still trusted her very much.

Li Yuan stroked the small wolfdogs, and they didn't resist, which was already very rare.

Later, the small wolfdogs were brought into the room by Li Yu and were quite obedient. Li Yu began training these small wolfdogs at night, teaching them where to relieve themselves, and some simple commands and actions.

These small wolfdogs were truly very smart, intelligent, and clever. Many times, Li Yu felt they understood human nature.

Waking up in the morning, the windows were covered in mist, which was caused by the large temperature difference between the inside and outside.

The indoor temperature was currently above 20 degrees Celsius, while outdoors, the temperature could reach as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius at its coldest!

The indoor and outdoor temperatures differed by nearly 40 degrees Celsius!

In such cold weather, in such minus 20-degree weather, the most wonderful things were:

Lying in a warm indoor space, with plenty of food, drinking iced water, eating delicious meals, and occasionally playing with the small wolfdogs~
