Chapter 82: to meet

A person got out of the off-road vehicle, his mouth inlaid with Big Gold Tooth, and two thick gold chains hung around his neck.

Big Gold Tooth stretched, patted the car roof, and said, "Qin Shou, have them drive the truck to the intersection. This road is a bit narrow, and I doubt they can get in."

The refined man, wearing a white shirt with buttons fastened to the top, got out of the passenger seat, looked at Big Gold Tooth, and said, "Alright, Brother Jin."

Immediately, he walked towards the cars behind.

He stopped, hands on his hips.

"Brother Jin said to have you all get out of the car. Your vehicles can't get through this road, so get out. Hurry up," the refined man said, his tone a bit impatient.

Inside the car, the steady man and the young man both got out. Behind them, about ten more men got out of the minibus, all holding various weapons.

Among these men, a few whispered, "What's he showing off for? Isn't it just because Brother Jin values him? Why is he flaunting in front of us?"

"Exactly, a small man getting his way. This guy is too damn arrogant."

"I can't stand him. He joined after us. If he wasn't such a bootlicker, would it be his turn to point fingers here? I could take him down with one hand."

The refined man seemed to hear some of the whispers from behind and said irritably, "What are you mumbling about? Hurry up, Brother Jin is waiting ahead!"

Seeing everyone had gotten out, Big Gold Tooth waved, "Let's go, see what's inside."

Big Gold Tooth led the way, with the refined man following closely, always staying half a step behind Big Gold Tooth. The rest of the group followed behind them.

Food Wholesale Market Central Street.

Teacher Liu and Song Qi had already climbed in through the broken glass window.

There were many staple foods in this room, including instant noodles, biscuits, dairy products, and so on. Teacher Liu was in front, holding a flashlight that was almost out of battery, sweeping it towards the innermost part.

This room was quite large, probably used as a warehouse. The innermost part was dark, and nothing could be seen clearly. The faint light swept across, and by a row of cabinets, no zombies were seen. Teacher Liu breathed a sigh of relief.

Suddenly, two zombies rushed out from the side of the cabinets. They looked like they should be the owners of this shop, a male and a female zombie. Teacher Liu had thought there were no zombies in the room, but she didn't expect these two zombies to be hidden on the side of the cabinets, a blind spot in their vision.

"Watch out!" Song Qi exclaimed from behind, seeing the two zombies pounce.

Teacher Liu had just relaxed. Hearing Song Qi's warning from behind, she turned her head and her heart trembled with fright. She saw that the two zombies were already less than half a meter away from her. Under the flashlight's beam, she could clearly see sharp teeth protruding from the zombies' mouths.

The distance was too close, and under the sudden attack, Teacher Liu found it difficult to make a significant reaction, but she quickly used the long spear in her right hand to resist horizontally.

The two zombies followed closely. Teacher Liu resisted with her spear held horizontally, desperately fending off the zombies' impact. But the zombies' sudden appearance, coupled with their momentum, immediately knocked Teacher Liu to the ground.

Two zombies, one on the left and one on the right, sandwiched Teacher Liu in the middle, but luckily, because of the spear's resistance, the zombies hadn't bitten her yet.

But at this moment, the zombies' mouths were less than 10 centimeters from Teacher Liu's face. Teacher Liu lay on the ground, and with each breath, she could smell the fishy stench from the zombies' mouths.

And in this instant, as Teacher Liu was knocked to the ground by the zombies, Song Qi also followed up, took out his long spear, aimed at the middle of one zombie's neck and back of the head, and thrust it in with a bang!

Pfft!

The zombie on the left was instantly headshotted, the spear tip narrowly passing by Teacher Liu's head.

But Teacher Liu had no energy to care about that, because the zombie on the right had already grabbed her shoulders. However, because the weather had turned cold recently, she was wearing thicker clothes, and the zombies hadn't scratched her skin yet due to the clothing's obstruction.

But this zombie's mouth was getting closer and closer, and at this moment, because the zombie on the left had been stabbed to death, its body slowly slid down.

Teacher Liu used all her strength to push the spear, shoving this zombie away, and slid her body to the right.

Thud!

This zombie pressed down on the spear in Teacher Liu's hand and fell to the ground. Song Qi, seeing that Teacher Liu had gotten out, pulled out the spear and forcefully stabbed it into this zombie's head.

The dust settled. And all of this happened within a mere dozen seconds.

Both of them were still shaken. Especially Teacher Liu, who slowly crawled up from the ground. Without even taking a breath, she pulled out the spear that was pinned under the zombie's body, gripped it tightly in her hand, and then took large gasps of air, her face flushed red from tension, sweat dripping onto the ground.

"Song Qi, you, you're amazing! You can already protect your teacher!" Teacher Liu looked at Song Qi, her eyes filled with gratitude and relief.

Song Qi puffed out his chest, a smile he couldn't hide playing at the corner of his mouth, and then scratched the back of his head.

Looking at this early-maturing teenager, who was upright and brave, and had always wanted to protect everyone but never got the chance, he was now capable of holding his own.

Song Qi had been decisive and resolute in killing the zombies just now, but under praise, he also became a bit shy. Teacher Liu couldn't help but smile slightly.

It's truly good. Some teenagers, who haven't experienced the hardships of society and have seen little evil and filth, retain a precious innocent heart. Although sometimes they seem foolish, perhaps not suited for this apocalypse, it's very rare.

The few students outside the window also heard the commotion and poked their heads in, asking, "What happened in there? Teacher Liu, are you two alright?"

Teacher Liu replied, "It's alright. We encountered two zombies and dealt with them. We're going to see if there are any other zombies."

"You two need to be careful! Should we, should we also come in?"

"No need, it's dark inside, and we only have one flashlight."

Meanwhile, outside the room, the group of people from the city had also arrived at the center of the wholesale market.

Big Gold Tooth ambled over, his eyes narrowing as he saw the few students on the steps. Two male students, two female students, all wearing school uniforms, looking only in their teens.

Big Gold Tooth patted his fat belly, loosened the belt around his waist, and a wicked smile curved his lips. He turned his head to the refined man beside him and said, "Remember those little sluts we met last time in Xiang County? Hahaha, we have new toys to play with this time."

A glint of lust flashed in the refined man's eyes as he said ingratiatingly, "Brother Jin's Golden Gun never falls, mighty and domineering!" As he spoke, he gave a thumbs-up.

It seemed the refined man had hit Big Gold Tooth's sweet spot, this flattery was precise and concise.

Hearing his words, Big Gold Tooth grinned, revealing his gold-inlaid teeth, his expression full of triumph. With a look of encouragement, he patted the refined man's shoulder.

"Good, you won't be left out later," Big Gold Tooth laughed wildly.

The few students on the steps, hearing the voices of Big Gold Tooth and his group, all turned their heads, took out weapons of varying lengths, and watched them with wary expressions.

A young, innocent-looking girl quickly shouted towards the window, "Teacher Liu, Song Qi, someone's here! They don't look like good people!"

Teacher Liu and Song Qi, hearing this, had been about to check for other zombies' footsteps, but they immediately stopped.

They quickly ran to the window.
