Chapter 48 Class Reunion
"Really?" Mother Su stared at Su Nuo with a suspicious look on her face. "I've never seen you so active before!"
"I'm very active now!" Sunuo laughed. "Mom, why did you come so early!" Sunuo looked at the time and it seemed to be only ten o'clock.
"Your father's classmates are coming today! I'll come back early to cook!" Mother Su said with a smile.
"Oh! Then I'll go grocery shopping with you!" Sunuo then remembered that her father's classmates usually come to her house for a gathering every month or two. Sunuo's father used to be a college teacher, and then he went into business. Her father's classmates are all senior executives in the procuratorate, police station, vehicle management office, bank, or large companies. Some of the classmates are now in very high positions, and some are above the rank of division commander in the army.
"Yeah!" Mother Su and Su Nuo went out to buy groceries together.
Mother Su is a good cook and Father Su’s classmates all like the dishes cooked by Mother Su.
"Boss Madam Su, what vegetables are you planning to buy?" A familiar vendor immediately called out loudly when he saw Madam Su.
"Some classmates are coming over for dinner and want to buy some ribs, pork liver, and lean meat!" Mother Su also answered with a smile.
"This is local pork, and the ribs are pretty good! How much do you want? I'll give you a discount!" The female stall owner said to Mother Su with a smile.
Mother Su usually buys things at the same few stores. She picked out a large piece of pork ribs and a piece of pork liver and handed them to the female stall owner. "Please weigh two to three pounds of lean meat for me."
"Great!" The shopkeeper took the items and weighed them. "This one is seventy-five, and this one is twelve!"
He cut another large piece of meat. "This is fifty!"
"Mom, there are pig intestines!" When Su Nuo saw the pig intestines and remembered the pig intestines fried with green peppers and Sichuan peppercorns, he felt like drooling.
Mother Su shook her head. "This is too difficult to wash! It will be too late to wash it!" "It's okay, buy it! I'll wash it!" Su Nuo persuaded Mother Su.
