Chapter 268: Slave Pit

“Qin Xuan said, his gaze shifting to the side.

Looking around, he could see a large number of raw stones everywhere.

And from Qin Xuan’s perception, the Spiritual Qi within these raw stones was much greater than he had imagined.

“So many raw stones just left lying there?”

Qin Xuan was completely puzzled, he could only shake his head and continue moving forward.

Turning a corner, a huge mine pit appeared before Qin Xuan’s eyes.

The pit was filled with a large number of raw stones that had already been cut open.

“These raw stones have all been cut open,” Qin Xuan said, frowning.

Hearing this, Han Ye nodded.

“That’s normal. Spirit Stones are sealed within the stone skin of raw stones. Only by cutting open the stone skin can you obtain the Spirit Stones inside,” Han Ye explained to Qin Xuan.

“Cutting open raw stones is called ‘stone-solving’. Because the stone skin can block the prying of Mental Energy, many places even have gambling on raw stones.”

Qin Xuan nodded. It seemed he should find a time to cut open the raw stones he had obtained to see what Rank of Spirit Stone was inside.

His gaze swept over the mine pit below. Under the illumination of various gems embedded around the mine, the mine shaft was still brightly lit.

“Strange, why did they only half-solve the stones? There are still many raw stones over there that haven’t been touched at all?”

Qin Xuan was puzzled and shook his head.

However, his purpose for coming here was not just for these raw stones, but for something that might be inside this mine shaft.

“Let’s go inside first and see what the situation is like in there,” Qin Xuan thought, bypassing this mine shaft and heading towards another passage.

As soon as he entered this passage, Qin Xuan felt his hairs stand on end.

He immediately looked forward.

But there was nothing ahead.

“Strange, there’s clearly nothing here, yet I instinctively sensed a hint of discomfort.”

Qin Xuan found it a bit strange, but he didn't relax his guard. He remained vigilant as he moved forward.

There were far fewer gems in the passage than outside, so the passage was much darker now. However, Qin Xuan hadn't walked long before he saw the light at the exit of the passage.

Upon seeing this, Qin Xuan immediately sped up and rushed towards the passage exit.

“Whoosh!”

The moment he walked out of the passage, the scene before him suddenly opened up.

An incredibly huge mine pit appeared before his eyes.

Dozens of enormous gems hung above the mine pit, illuminating the surroundings as bright as day.

On one side of the rock wall in the mine pit, dozens of excavated passages could be seen.

It was clear that these passages led to the directions where individual mine shafts extended.

“This passage is already underground, and they’ve dug out another huge mine pit underground!”

Looking at the dozens of passages above the mine shaft, Qin Xuan was incredibly surprised.

“This is much larger than other mines. Without even mentioning anything else, this single mine is at least equivalent to five mines outside.”

It certainly looked very shocking.

“Qin Xuan, you, look down below.”

Just then, Han Ye suddenly spoke to Qin Xuan. Qin Xuan was stunned and looked down into the depths of the mine pit.

“This!”

Qin Xuan froze in place.

Below, at the bottom of the mine pit, countless white skeletons were piled up!

Some skeletons were still trying to climb the adjacent rock wall, attempting to get up from it.

Other skeletons were looking up in despair.

It was evident that these skeletons had once roared in despair towards the sky.

“So, so many mine slaves all died here?”

Qin Xuan swallowed.

There seemed to be at least ten thousand of these mine slave skeletons.

This was a pit of ten thousand mine slaves!

“No wonder this place was sealed off. This mine shaft, which clearly hadn't finished excavating raw stones, turned into this state!”

With so many mine slaves dead and the place being so eerie, it was impossible for it not to be abandoned.

“What exactly happened in this place back then?!”

Qin Xuan exhaled, his brows furrowed with a heavy heart.

No matter what happened back then, to be so tragic to this extent was truly unprecedented.

“Perhaps it was the tragedy that occurred in the past that caused this mine shaft to be sealed. Not only the mine shaft, but even the Spirit Stone raw stones they were excavating were abandoned halfway through.”

Qin Xuan pondered, feeling a bit hesitant for the first time.

“Should I continue down? Given the tragic situation that occurred back then, I’m afraid the dangers within this mine shaft haven’t been resolved yet.”

Han Ye also said this.

Qin Xuan thought for a moment, then nodded.

“Since we’re already here, we can’t just give up so easily. Moreover, looking at the history of this mine shaft, it should be a very old one. Since it’s a very old mine shaft, even if there were any unclean or strange things, they should be long gone by now.”

“What’s more, I also possess Lightning Dao and Fire Seed. With these two extremely powerful and formidable things, I’m not worried about anything else at all.”

Saying this, Qin Xuan took a deep breath, avoiding looking at the mine slave pit below, and chose to move directly forward, flying across to the opposite side in one go.

“There are dozens of passages here, which one should we go to?”

Hearing this, Qin Xuan sensed around.

He could sense the presence of Taihuang Aura in all of these passages.

However, the Taihuang Aura in only one of the passages was the most powerful.

Without any hesitation, Qin Xuan directly walked in.

As he continued to move forward along the mine shaft, he saw many Spirit Stone raw stones that had been half-excavated along the way.

Many mine slave skeletons still clutched hammers and chisels.

As he continued through the passage, although the skeletons didn't become increasingly numerous, Qin Xuan could tell from their desperate struggles before death just how despairing they had been.

“It’s truly lamentable.”

Qin Xuan shook his head, his mood also beginning to grow heavy.

Although these people had become skeletons, and although these people had died long ago.

Yet, looking at their appearance before death, Qin Xuan could still feel a deep despair from them.

There was nothing they could do!

This deep sense of powerlessness continuously stimulated Qin Xuan.

“What kind of thing could kill so many people in such a short time? Is it blood mist? But how did blood mist form in the first place?”

With this thought, Qin Xuan continued to move forward.

Along the way, he saw too many skeletons.

Just like this, after half an hour, Qin Xuan finally arrived at the bottom of this mine shaft.

Here, a large pile of mine slave skeletons lay scattered about.

However, Qin Xuan's attention was not entirely on the skeletons at this moment.

His attention was entirely focused on the end of the passage.

There, a black, withered claw emerged from a crack in the rock.

The claw had four talons spread open, and on the ground was a severed black sharp claw.

“It seems that someone accidentally dug up this thing back then and then accidentally cut off this claw, which caused so many casualties.”
