Chapter 112: Looking into the Future
Jiang Yu followed his intuition and moved forward, gradually moving away from the crowd and turning into a remote alley.
The noisy voices seemed to be immediately blocked out by something. Jiang Yu could hear vague sounds, but felt that the bustle was too far away from him.
She stopped in a dim corner where the light could not reach. Only the cold moonlight in the sky allowed her to barely see her surroundings.
She stood there, silent, waiting for Tiandao to continue speaking.
Yuan Heng hurriedly caught up with Jiang Yu, and when he was about to turn into the dead end where she was, he suddenly heard the inquiring voice of an old man deep in the alley.
"A possible future—" the voice said with a smile, "Do you want to see it?"
Yuan Heng's heart trembled slightly, and when he hurried over, Jiang Yu was no longer there.
Only that voice seemed to still be there, pouring into his mind from all directions.
"Boy, you stay here and wait for her to come back."
The old man ordered this.
Yuan Heng stood there, his whole body stiff. After just a few breaths, he was already sweating profusely.
Jiang Yu didn't know where he was.
When did the Heavenly Dao really ask for her opinion? She was sent here in the blink of an eye without even having time to open her mouth.
This so-called possible future mentioned by the Heavenly Dao.
She walked out of an alleyway where she was.
It was still night, just as it had been before she walked into the alley, decorated with lights and bustling with activity. On the plaque of a small shop on the street was engraved "Nanhaixi No. 1 Restaurant".
The same night, the same Nanhai River. If the surrounding scenery had not changed much, Jiang Yu would almost think that nothing had changed.
She didn't understand the meaning of Heaven letting her see this possible future.
At least when she was wandering aimlessly on the street, she didn't feel that she had gained anything or changed anything from her trip.
"Girl--" an old woman called her hesitantly and handed her a simple mask that could cover half of her face.
"I think you look kind," she said with a smile, "I'll give you this new mask as a gift."
Jiang Yu subconsciously reached out to take it, but before she could say anything, she looked up and the old woman who had asked her to accept the mask had disappeared.
Jiang Yu's eyebrows jumped and he looked at the faces of the people around him, but saw that they looked normal and were still doing their own things, as if they didn't know that someone had disappeared in front of everyone.
Jiang Yu hesitated for a moment, then lowered her head and put on the mask that covered most of her face.
She bought a delicate little lantern from a street vendor, held it in her hand, and followed the crowd to a busy place.
She herself was not familiar with Nanhai Creek and felt that something had changed here, but she couldn't tell exactly what had changed.
Jiang Yu followed the crowd, walked along a long street, and stopped in front of an inn that looked quite familiar.
The street scene was familiar. Jiang Yu looked around and recognized that this was the inn where the Sun and Moon Immortal Sect stayed.
It was just noisy inside, as if something had happened.
Jiang Yu followed a few monks with cheerful steps into the door with the intention of watching the fun. Among the crowd, she saw the storyteller sitting on the stage.
"It is said that a violent storm was raging at the time, and amid Jing Mo's curses—" the storyteller, who was obviously no longer young and had white hair on his temples, deliberately dragged out his voice, "Fairy Suian stabbed his heart with a sword!"
"it is good!"
"continue!"
"..."
Amid the cheers, only the man next to Jiang Yu chuckled twice, tilted his head and said to his companions: "It's really the story of Fairy Sui'an again."
