Chapter 68: Savior

Chapter 68 Savior

Chu Qingyue had heard a lot of similar words to what Jiang Yu said in the past two days.

But no matter how she told herself that it was not her fault and that all of this was caused by Wen Ren Huai, every time she closed her eyes or looked into the distance, she thought back to this incident that could have been avoided with a single thought, and she always felt filled with regret.

She couldn't control this emotion at all, and there was nothing she could do about it. She could only wait for time to ease it.

Jiang Yu herself did not have much experience in comforting people. She could not tell whether the smile on Chu Qingyue's tired face was good or bad, nor could she tell from it whether the other party had listened to her words, or whether her words were useful.

After Chu Qingyue was helped up by Jiang Yu and stopped insisting on bowing again, the people in the room who had been bowing and thanking him gradually stood up, crying and laughing, crying about their misfortune while expressing their gratitude to Jiang Yu and the others for their kindness.

Their attitude towards Yuan Heng and his companions was pious and cautious. They approached them cautiously and wanted to express their gratitude in person, but when they got really close, they couldn't help but take two steps back and moved to a position where they thought the other party would not be disgusted. They wiped the tears from their faces before leaning forward to say a few words of thanks, and hurriedly retreated when they could no longer hold back their tears. If the other party held their arms, they forced themselves to hold back their tears and buried their heads deeply after speaking, as if they were afraid that Yuan Heng and his companions would face their tearful faces.

Jiang Yu suddenly didn't want to watch any more, so he turned his head away and half-supported Chu Qingyue to sit back down.

Qin Yin was still standing there holding the banknotes. The people in the room had just been led by Chu Qingyue to go to Yuan Heng and the others. She was holding the pen in vain, still waiting for the people who had gone to express their gratitude to come back. She had not written anything down yet.

Jiang Yu helped Chu Qingyue approach, and she put down the things in her hands, smiled at her, and bowed: "Thank you for the elixir, young lady. I can't repay you for saving my life. If you can use Qin Yin in the future, Qin Yin will definitely die for you."

She has soft facial lines and delicate features that are not sharp. Even when she just smiles, she still makes people feel close to her. However, her voice is cold when she speaks, which contrasts with her appearance.

Jiang Yu let go of Chu Qingyue and reached out to help her, but Qin Yin got up by herself.

Jiang Yu paused for a moment, then naturally withdrew his hand. He stood almost shoulder to shoulder with Chu Qingyue and smiled at her: "They are just a few pills, meant to be eaten by humans. Miss Qin, you are too kind." Qin Yin shook her head and smiled, her round eyes slightly curved: "If it weren't for your pills, I'm afraid I wouldn't have the chance to meet you today. You deserve my life-saving grace."

Jiang Yu's head moved slightly, and after thinking about it, he didn't want to dwell on this topic any further, so he grinned and said, "Well, then I'll be your lifesaver."

Qin Yin nodded, raised her eyes and met Chu Qingyue's gaze, and they smiled at each other.

As the evil demons that sneaked into Lingdu were killed one by one and Wen Ren Huai passed away, the nerves that had been tense since they each discovered Wen Ren Huai's true identity finally relaxed. Although there were still many things to be dealt with in the city, at least the dark cloud that had been weighing on the hearts of the people of Lingdu since someone went missing was finally dissipated.

After seeing off their deceased loved ones, they no longer have to worry and stay awake at night. They can turn off the lights and have a good night's sleep as usual.

Jiang Yu returned to Song Hui, but did not sit down. Instead, he stood behind his father and unconsciously played with the back of the chair.

When she came back, Yuan Heng and the others had already found paper and pen and went to the accountant to help register the people's information.

Song Lian looked at her for several times, then suddenly tilted his head and asked her, "How do you feel about this?"

Jiang Yu looked at him for a moment, and then looked at the door as he smiled. An old man who had just registered his information was hunched over and was being supported by his daughter as he left. She pursed her lips and thought for a moment: "It doesn't seem real."
