Chapter 10: Bloodspear Pirates

Pirate Crew Name: Blood Spear Pirates

Captain's Title: "Bloodspear" Logot

Bounty: 69,000,000 Berries (Due to voluntarily abandoning further travel after retreating from the Grand Line, he did not encounter higher bounties)

Age: 42 years old

Origin: Royal Guard of a certain warring nation in the West Blue

Morbid Aesthetic: Obsessed with "elegant slaughter"; during combat, he deliberately controls the opponent's blood loss, causing enemies to slowly bleed to death.

Due to his defeat in the Grand Line, he intensely dislikes "games of the strong" and instead bullies the weak to numb himself.

"Gern, this is the detailed information on the Blood Spear Pirates."

Branch Chief Asahi gently pushed a kraft paper file across the table.

He rubbed his hands, a fawning smile appearing on his face: "I specifically pulled some old strings with the South Sea Branch to get this internal information."

"Thank you for the trouble."

Gern took the file and began to read it.

"Although Logot is from the West Blue,"

Asahi leaned closer, the smell of cigar smoke mixed with cheap perfume wafting towards him.

"He became greedy while guarding his country's royal family in the South Sea, and after killing and plundering, he directly formed a pirate crew in the South Sea."

As he spoke, he pointed a stubby finger at a red stamp on the file, "See this mark? It's the 'Extremely Dangerous' stamp the South Sea Branch put on him."

Gern quickly scanned the intelligence, his gaze lingering on keywords such as "Grand Line" and "sixty million Berries."

Amidst the rustling of turning pages, Asahi's voice continued: "This guy's misdeeds in the South Sea include plundering seven merchant ships and destroying two Marine Branch outposts; his methods are cruel..."

"So now he's specifically run back from the Grand Line to the West Blue to throw his weight around?"

Gern closed the file, letting out a soft sigh.

Asahi's plump face suddenly turned serious; he leaned forward, and the chair groaned under his weight.

"Gern, this Logot is completely different from those twenty-million-level nobodies you dealt with before.

A guy who can make a name for himself in the first half of the Grand Line... although his bounty says sixty million, his actual strength might far exceed that number."

Gern's fingers unconsciously tapped on the table, the rhythm like a countdown.

He naturally understood—after Luffy defeated Arlong in the original story, his bounty was only thirty million Berries.

The Marine's bounty assessment was never just a reflection of strength, but it had never been underestimated either.

"Don't worry, Branch Chief."

Gern stood up, sunlight filtering through the blinds casting mottled stripes on his face, "I value my life very much."

"That's good! That's very good!"

Asahi quickly stood up, not bothering to rub his belly after accidentally bumping it against the corner of the desk, only smiling obsequiously.

"When you go to Marineford, you'll be dealing with real monsters..."

Just as Gern and Asahi were talking, a hurried sound of footsteps came, and then a sudden report interrupted everything.

The office door was suddenly pushed open, and Asahi's adjutant rushed in with an anxious face, clutching an intelligence file in his hand.

"Report, Branch Chief!"

The adjutant's voice was urgent and heavy.

"West Blue, Arthur Kingdom, Ashen Port has been attacked by the Blood Spear Pirates, and the local militia has sent us an urgent request for support!"

Asahi was stunned for a moment, then reacted, the fat on his face trembling slightly due to tension.

"So fast? Didn't the intelligence say they were still active near the South Sea?"

"They've clearly changed their course," the adjutant said.

"Bang!"

Asahi's face instantly darkened; he suddenly stood up, slamming his fist heavily on the table.

"These damned beasts, they just ran back from the first half of the Grand Line and can't wait to run wild on my territory!"

Meanwhile, Gern's gaze sharpened, looking at the intelligence file Asahi had just given him.

"Branch Chief, please give the order!"

The adjutant eagerly awaited instructions.

Asahi gritted his teeth, about to speak, but Gern had already stood up and was walking towards the door.

"Hey! Gern?"

Asahi was momentarily stunned, "What are you going to do?"

"Do I even need to say?"

Gern said without looking back: "Of course, I'm going to support Ashen Port!"

"Wait!"

Asahi quickly called out to him, "Didn't I just tell you?

The Blood Spear Pirates are not ordinary pirates; their strength far exceeds those nobodies you dealt with before!

And didn't you just say you valued your life..."

Gern stopped, slightly tilting his head, "When I said I valued my life..."

Then, he suddenly broke into a chilling smile, "It's for those reckless fools, when they meet me,

they'd better value their lives, not me."

Looking into Gern's eyes, Asahi was intimidated by his aura and was speechless for a moment.

"Oh, right!"

Gern had already turned and walked towards the door, pausing when his hand was on the doorknob: "Thanks for this intelligence."

Asahi waved his hands repeatedly as if flattered: "It's nothing! It's nothing! Our 133rd Branch relies on you..."

The sound of the door closing cut off his flattery.

Asahi stood in a daze for a moment, then suddenly remembered something and hastily grabbed the Den Den Mushi on the table.

"Hello? Prepare the best supplies immediately! Warrant Officer Gern is going to sea!"

...

In the corridor, Gern's pace grew faster and faster, finally almost becoming a run.

Only one thought occupied his mind: he had to reach Ashen Port as quickly as possible!

"Warrant Officer Gern!"

Several Marine soldiers, seeing his hurried appearance, quickly saluted.

"Immediately assemble a small team and prepare a warship!"

Gern ordered sharply.

"Ashen Port is under attack; we depart in ten minutes!"

The soldiers dared not delay and quickly sprang into action.

Gern returned to his room, grabbed the black blade eight desolations from his desk, and securely strapped it to his back.

He took a deep breath, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes, "Blood Spear Pirates..."

Ten minutes later, a warship sailed out of the 133rd Branch's port, heading at full speed towards Ashen Port.

Gern stood at the bow, the sea breeze brushing his face, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon, his thoughts already flying to the future.

The Blood Spear Pirates were just one step in his plan; the real challenges still lay ahead.

Marineford, the monsters of the New World, and the Haki that had not yet awakened.

"Soon..."

He murmured to himself, a tiny cluster of vibrating particles unconsciously forming in his palm, only to dissipate in an instant.

"Warrant Officer, we expect to arrive at Ashen Port in two hours," a soldier reported.

Gern nodded, stating in a deep voice: "Inform everyone to prepare for battle.

This time, we are facing a group of bloodthirsty pirates; show no mercy."

"Yes!"

The soldier answered solemnly and turned to leave.

"Blood Spear Carlos, my last accomplishment..."

He whispered the name, his eyes filled with killing intent.

"Your head is my 'pledge' for promotion to Marineford!"
