Logot’s pupils contracted violently, his gaze fixed on the fully unleashed black blade eight desolations in Gern’s hand.
The dark red cracks on the blade and the high-frequency buzzing sound of it tearing through the air made his eardrums ache.
“This knife is pretty good…” Logot muttered.
One must know that not every weapon can withstand the attachment of Devil Fruit abilities, and the one in Gern’s hand was even more exceptional.
“Captain! Is that… a Devil Fruit ability?!” The Blood Spear Pirates reacted, swallowing hard, and shouted.
“A Superhuman Type, huh…” Logot’s expression gradually turned sinister, “No wonder he dared to come alone.
But… this ability seems a little familiar.”
“Captain Logot…”
“What are you afraid of?!” Hearing his subordinates’ cries, Logot abruptly flung his cloak, the insignia clinking crisply.
“I’ve seen plenty of ability users in the Grand Line!?”
Before he finished speaking, Logot’s figure suddenly erupted.
The blood beak spear thrust out like a venomous snake, its barbed tip tearing through the air, aiming straight for Gern’s throat!
“Die, you Navy brat!”
Gern remained rooted to the spot, not even raising an eyelid.
“Buzz!” The spear pierced through his body, but it was like stabbing into an illusion, not a single drop of blood splattered.
“What?!” Logot’s eyes widened, watching his attack miss in disbelief.
Immediately after, Gern’s body transformed into countless trembling particles the moment the spear tip touched him, then reassembled the next second.
“Just as I thought, you mistook me for a Superhuman Type.” Gern’s voice came from behind him.
Logot spun around abruptly, only to see Gern standing three paces behind him, the vibrating light sphere in his hand growing even more dazzling.
“No wonder you fled back from the Grand Line?” Gern’s tone carried undisguised mockery.
Listening to Gern’s taunts, Logot’s face instantly turned ashen, and he roared.
The blood beak spear instantly disassembled and reassembled, transforming into two short spears, their tips glowing with an eerie red light.
“Don’t underestimate me, brat!” He crossed his two spears, his figure charging towards Gern like a phantom.
“Twin Beak Piercing Heart!”
Gern still didn’t move, merely raising his hand slightly, vibrating particles swirling around his arm like flowing water.
“Vibration Wall.”
“Boom!” Logot’s two spears slammed into the invisible barrier in front of Gern, and a shockwave erupted, sending all the surrounding pirates flying!
The ground cracked, rubble splattered, but Gern didn’t even stir a corner of his clothes.
Soon, cold sweat began to seep from Logot’s forehead, and his hands also began to tremble slightly from furiously attacking the barrier formed by the vibrating particles.
He decisively leaped back, creating distance, his expression volatile.
“Damn it, that cursed Nature Type…” Logot’s voice twisted with shock, then erupted into a furious roar.
“That’s why I hate you bastards blessed by fate the most!!”
As he spoke, Logot stomped on the ground, which shattered beneath his feet.
The blood beak spear spun in his hand, the barbed tip gleaming with a layer of dark metallic luster!
“You lucky bastards who think you’re hot stuff just because of one Devil Fruit!” Logot’s eyes were bloodshot.
“In the Grand Line, I’ve seen too many guys like you… they all ended up dying like stray dogs!”
Gern ignored his roar, his figure vanishing abruptly.
“Vibration Instant – Slide!”
Transparent vibrating particle tracks appeared in the air, and Gern’s figure was propelled forward by an invisible force, instantly closing in on Logot.
At the same time, the black blade eight desolations was raised high, and the vibration waves on the blade condensed into a visible white light blade, slashing down towards Logot’s head!
Before the blade arrived, the terrifying vibrations had already torn through the ground, the port’s paving stones crumbling layer by layer like fragile biscuits.
Logot, however, sneered, not dodging, and the blood beak spear, imbued with Armament Haki, met the attack head-on from below!
“Clang!!” Amidst the explosive clash of metal, dazzling sparks erupted where the Black Blade and the spear collided.
“This guy has so much strength!” Logot was clearly startled when he felt Gern’s immense power.
What surprised Gern was that Logot’s Armament Haki actually withstood the impact of the vibration wave, even causing his tiger’s mouth to go numb from the rebound!
“Hey, Navy brat, your combat experience is terrible!” He spat fiercely, rotating the blood beak spear in his hand.
Armament Haki coiled around the spear tip like black mist, the black-lustered barbs gleaming coldly in the sunlight.
Gern didn’t reply, merely raising the Black Blade Eight Desolations, the blade vibrating, high-frequency vibrating particles dancing on the edge like electric arcs.
“Vibration Shatter.” The blade fell!
The air was instantly torn apart, and a massive, fan-shaped slash, imbued with shockwaves, erupted.
Where it passed, the ground cracked, buildings shattered, and even space itself seemed to be fractured by the vibrations!
Logot sneered, not dodging, and thrust his spear forward like a venomous snake!
“Blood Feast Thrust – Piercing Sea!”
The Armament Haki-hardened spear tip collided head-on with the shockwave slash.
Boom!!!
A wave of air exploded, Logot was thrown back several steps, his tiger’s mouth split open, blood dripping down his wrist.
At the same time, a thin, long bloodstain slowly appeared on Gern’s chest—a wound grazed by the tip of the blood beak spear!
His body, which should have been elementalized, was actually cut!
“Armament Haki?” Gern took half a step back, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.
“Ha… Hahahaha!” Seeing Gern in a daze, Logot suddenly burst into wild laughter, his eyes gleaming with frenzied excitement.
“You actually don’t know Armament Haki?!”
Gern looked down at the wound on his chest, a hint of surprise in his eyes.
Seeing this, Logot laughed even more wildly, thrusting his spear into the ground and arrogantly raising his chin.
“Didn’t expect that, brat?! I’m a man who’s fought real monsters in the Grand Line!
Haki—that’s the proof of a strong person!”
As he spoke, Logot seized on the fact that Gern didn’t know Haki, lunging forward, his spear thrusting out like a rainstorm, each strike imbued with dark Armament Haki.
“Blood Feast – Thousand Spears!”
Gern rapidly swung his blade to block, the black blade eight desolations and the spear colliding in a continuous shower of sparks.
But gradually, Logot quickly discovered something was wrong again; this Marine seemed to not only lack combat experience.
At first, he thought Gern, by drawing his sword, was at least following the path of a swordsman, but now, feeling it… Gern’s swordsmanship was chaotic, completely relying on his Devil Fruit ability and the strength of the Black Blade to hack away.
And each swing of his blade relied on the violent amplification of power by vibrating particles, rather than the exquisite techniques of a swordsman.
