Chapter 1: Preparatory Citizen

The vast and boundless universe, Jialan Empire.

Among the 1008 high-level civilized Cosmic Countrys of humanity, it was an inconspicuous one among the many affiliated middle-level civilized nations within the Liuyun Universe Country.

Moon River Star, designated as X371728 among the more than ten thousand star systems directly controlled by the Jialan Empire.

“Son, you’ve grown up; it’s time you learned to cultivate on your own.”

A man and a woman, whose appearances were almost identical to normal humans except for their wine-red eyes, spoke earnestly to their son before them.

“If you become stronger, you won’t be easily bullied in the future, and finding a job will be easier,” the tall, beautiful woman said, stroking his head.

The youth, dressed in black clothes, slightly slender, with white hair and red eyes, and a face that could be described as exquisite, lowered his head, appearing obedient on the surface while his mind raced.

He, Su Ke, was 16 years old this year and was a transmigrator.

After 16 years of being reborn, he had just awakened the memories of his previous life yesterday.

Because he had just been knocked unconscious yesterday.

He could still clearly recall the scene in his mind: it was an Apprentice Level battle in an open square, where both sides were roughly the same age and both were at Apprentice Rank 9, making it a fair one-on-one fight.

His two best friends had lost first, and then he had bravely stepped up, only to suffer the worst defeat, being directly knocked unconscious by his opponent’s psychic weapon hitting his head.

If it weren’t for the opponent possibly showing mercy at the last moment due to concerns about the planet’s laws, under that impact force weighing millions of kilograms, even if his skull was hard, his brain might have been shattered.

After all, they were all ‘Reserve Citizens’; truly killing someone would result in punishment under planetary law.

Generally, ordinary people on a planet who have not reached the Planetary Level cannot obtain citizen status. The prerequisite for obtaining citizen status is—they must reach the Planetary Level.

Non-citizens entering some planets are not protected by the Empire.

Su Ke’s parents were citizens and residents of this planet; they were both at the Planetary Level, and since they had a child, even though he had not yet reached the Planetary Level, he had the protection of ‘Reserve Citizen’ status.

As long as he reached the Planetary Level, he could immediately become a full citizen!

Moon River Star, although an incredibly inconspicuous planet among the Jialan Empire’s tens of thousands of star systems and hundreds of millions of planets—estimated not even to rank in the top million and having no significant value, just an ordinary life planet—still had nearly ten billion permanent residents, the vast majority of whom were at the Planetary Level.

And as long as there were no issues, the descendants of the planet’s people could generally cultivate to the Planetary Level.

The fast ones took a few years, or a dozen years; the slow ones took a few decades, which was roughly the same.

The cultivation civilization here was very prosperous, and resources were abundant; low-level cultivation resources like ‘Purple Light Dew’ were mostly drunk as beverages by ordinary citizens.

Therefore, even though Su Ke’s aptitude wasn’t exceptional, at 16 years old, he had directly cultivated to Apprentice Rank 9!

This was considered normal among his peers on the planet.

However, the leap from Apprentice Level to Planetary Level was a life-changing one and a bit troublesome, requiring a longer period of accumulation, and even cultivating some breakthrough methods. If that still didn’t work, if one had money, they could spend a certain price to buy some resources to assist in the breakthrough.

For example, if an Apprentice Rank 9 ate a mu ya crystal, no matter how useless they were, they would break through one hundred percent.

However, mu ya crystal was a luxury item, and its price was too exorbitant for Su Ke’s family; they couldn’t afford even one, even if they went bankrupt.

The price of one mu ya crystal could buy who knows how many Planetary Level slaves!

Su Ke’s family financial situation could only be described as a basic subsistence level here; a mu ya crystal was something his parents couldn’t afford even if they worked hard for a thousand years until they died of old age.

All in all, breaking through to the Planetary Level was not difficult for most people.

“In the future, don’t provoke An Tai and his group anymore, and your two best friends, tell them to behave themselves. Don’t just fight others at the drop of a hat. You are still children; the most important thing now is to cultivate diligently,” Su Ke’s father, Su Kai, a tall, burly white-haired man wearing the black uniform of a spaceship company, looked down at his young child, his voice deep.

His only son being beaten like that also made him very angry.

After learning what had happened, he even felt a lingering fear; if anything had gone wrong, his son would have been gone.

But he couldn’t seek justice for his child; the other party only paid some money and didn’t even apologize.

From the perspective of planetary law, this was not a big deal; since both parties voluntarily dueled, the other party could not be held responsible, and in the end, it could only be dropped.

Angry, yet helpless, he couldn’t afford to provoke the other party’s background either; this planet also had a strict hierarchy.

His only consolation was that his child was fine.

“I understand,” Su Ke, who had just gained his transmigrator memories, lowered his head, acting extremely obedient.

“Your father and I are leaving tomorrow for a long trip. You stay home and cultivate well,” his mother lovingly urged.

Father Su Kai and Mother Alice were common races on the planet, with white hair and red eyes, belonging to the same race. They were both over two hundred years old, which was considered very young for Planetary Level cultivators. They worked together at a long-distance trade spaceship company on Moon River Star. Their job involved transporting goods to other planets with the spaceship, and it was normal for them not to return for a year or even longer.

Most of the time in the past, young Su Ke was raised by intelligent robots.

Moon River Star had a total of nine cities, each one immense, concentrating over ninety-nine percent of the planet’s residents. However, truly wealthy people built huge estates and even castles outside the cities to live in.

And those without money could only squeeze into the seemingly prosperous but actually crowded cities.

A skyscraper reaching 800 stories, almost towering into the clouds, housed Su Ke’s family on its 578th floor.

“Mom and Dad have left,” Su Ke sat at the dining table where his family ate, with a spread of delicious food before him. In fact, his home wasn’t small, nearly a hundred square meters.

“It’s back to eating alone again,” Su Ke sighed.

Actually, his parents, having reached the Planetary Level, no longer needed to eat, but it was a kind of life enjoyment.

As for Su Ke himself, he still needed to eat.

And as an Apprentice Rank 9, though he appeared slender, his casual movement speed could break the sound barrier, and a single punch could destroy a tank on Earth.

A golden-haired beauty, identical to a human in appearance, the intelligent robot “Lala,” stood beside him in a maid uniform, serving him meticulously.

“Young Master, both masters said I am to supervise your cultivation,” the golden-haired beauty smiled, her gem-blue eyes glowing, projecting a small light screen. “The detailed schedule is as follows.”

“I understand,” Su Ke had no resistance.

Su Ke’s original self was not lazy; he just had mediocre aptitude. His parents worked hard now because they wanted to give their child a better environment for growth.

Although he had gained the memories of his previous life, his feelings for his parents in this life remained strong and deep.

“Living a second life, it must be even more splendid.” Su Ke clenched his fists, his mood slightly agitated, full of dreams as he walked to the dedicated room accompanied by the robot.

......

Day turned to night, and soon it was evening on the planet.

“Ah~~ So tired.”

After cultivating all day under the robot’s strict supervision, Su Ke, exhausted, finished showering and changed into pajamas. He flopped onto the bed, soft as air. A three-dimensional environment automatically generated around him, and the room’s layout disappeared, transforming into a vast blue ocean, white sandy beach, with white clouds in the distance. It even simulated the sea breeze and scents blowing through.

And warm sunlight shone down from above.

It was so comfortable; Su Ke relaxed completely, feeling as if his soul was floating.

“Ding.”

“You have an email.”
