Chapter 30: Prepare

"Activated Creation?"

"Self-aware?"

"Sounds like a lot of trouble..."

Sister Aya sighed again, her cigarette quickly shortening.

"Why don't we just leave it for the Meditation Society to worry about? Anyway, they're so close to the Governor, they're practically the officially sanctioned ones now."

"Aya, this land needs the Lord's protection," Sister Anna reminded her.

"But this land doesn't welcome us."

Aya complained lazily,

"The donation we agreed on two months ago still hasn't materialized... If it weren't for those damn precepts, I'd rather go back to being a pirate..."

"Aya!"

Anna's tone suddenly grew sharper.

Aya sighed, then shrugged, took off her cigarette, and extinguished the butt.

"..."

Li Andy suddenly understood why, in the game, Night Crow Sister was always late.

If it were him, he would be even more of a slacker.

How much do you get paid a month? Why are you risking your life?

"This time, there's a reward," Sister Anna suddenly said.

Hearing this, Aya couldn't help but widen her mouth, and even Emi, who was dozing off nearby, opened her eyes.

Sister Anna looked at Li Andy and explained:

"This incident originated from a commission Andy accepted.

"Andy is not a cleric of the Church, so theoretically, we haven't violated the precepts."

Sister Emi sat up straight, her eyes gleaming:

"Wow, what a great idea! Why didn't we think of this method before?"

Aya slapped Emi on the head:

"Before? Could you find someone who loves to cause trouble and isn't afraid of death back then? Besides, we are impure Sisters who are paying for our sins. Who would dare to cooperate with us long-term?"

"Oh, right."

Sister Emi suddenly realized, reaching up to scratch her head.

With her internal organs all gone, her brain wasn't exactly full either.

Aya rested her chin on her hand, looking at Li Andy, lightly licking her lips, and said with interest:

"I didn't expect that rigid Priest John could train such a boy. Hehe, not bad at all..."

Li Andy frowned slightly, about to say something, but Sophia stepped in front of him first,

"Anna, don't make such jokes."

Aya smiled, pursing her lips, and raised her hands:

"OK, OK... He's yours, I won't make a move, you don't have to be so protective."

Sophia's tense body slowly relaxed.

Li Andy stood behind her, unable to see her expression clearly, only vaguely noticing the small, slightly reddened earlobe hidden by her hair.

It seemed even Sophia had heard the rumors about the Church liking to eat young boys.

"Let's get back to the main topic first."

Sister Anna placed the lantern back at the foot of the statue,

"Although that domain has just recently formed and hasn't reached a high-risk scale, its location and strange abilities have probably already affected many people."

"Then let's set off now and finish it quickly?" Emi clenched her fists together.

Sister Anna shook her head, glancing at Li Andy and the other two:

"Let them rest for a bit. Tomorrow night, we'll go together."

"Together?" Aya was stunned, "You're taking all three of them?"

"Mm."

Anna nodded,

"Since they are all eager to grow and become independent, experiencing it early might not be a bad thing."

Aya frowned:

"That's a 'Domain.' Can you guarantee the safety of these rookies?"

"No."

Anna's lips curved slightly, revealing a smile devoid of much emotion.

She turned back to the three of them and asked:

"Are you... still willing to go?"

Sophia's face showed hesitation as she looked at Li Andy.

Yuquan Youxi remained silent, only quietly holding Li Andy's hand.

"Go."

Li Andy said,

"If you can't guarantee it, I can."

Aya and Sister Emi were stunned, their expressions bewildered.

Sister Anna smiled, pursing her lips, and nodded slightly, placing her hands in front of her chest:

"Alright, then... May the Lord bless you."

...

...

The next day, there was still half a day until the evening operation.

Li Andy, through Jasmine, had Mrs. Harveys send over some information about the academy.

"Madam, after tonight, things should have a result."

Li Andy took the material,

"You just need to go back and prepare."

Mrs. Harveys watched Li Andy return to the Church, silent for a few seconds, then sighed with a touch of melancholy:

"I never thought this Church could help us. If only I had known earlier, perhaps Jasmine would be awake by now..."

Mrs. Harveys turned to leave, but noticed the butler looking as if he wanted to say something but was hesitant.

"What is it? Just say what's on your mind. Things are already like this, I won't blame you," Mrs. Harveys said.

"Madam..."

The butler paused, then said,

"You asked me to look for ways to treat Miss before. People in those circles say... this West Suburb Church is called the Ominous Church..."

"Ominous?" The Madam frowned.

The butler continued:

"It is said that real demons are kept imprisoned beneath this Church.

"The Sisters living above are all very problematic, cursed witches.

"Moreover, this Church also has a taboo... it's said that men are not allowed to stay overnight. But Mr. Li Andy, he seems to be living inside..."

The Madam couldn't help but frown, just about to refute the butler for believing rumors.

But then she saw a woman wrapped in a black robe, trembling all over, walk by from the side.

The Madam noticed the attire under the other person's black robe seemed to be a Sister's habit.

"You don't look too well, do you need any help?" The Madam couldn't help but ask.

The Sister turned her head stiffly, her face under the black robe was very haggard, her eyes sunken and dark.

She looked at the Madam for a few seconds, then suddenly fell to the ground in fright, as if she had seen something extremely terrifying, scrambling backward with her hands and feet.

"Don't come near me!"

"You... you... you!"

"They're watching you! They're already watching you!"

"Don't look at me! Don't look at me!!"

The Sister scrambled to her feet, clutching the muddy black robe tightly, and ran back to the Church, tumbling and crawling as if fleeing for her life.

The butler nearby swallowed:

"Madam, you see..."

The Madam opened her mouth, but it finally became a sigh:

"Even if they are abnormal, only they can help Jasmine."

...

The scene returns to the Church.

Sophia was sweeping the corridor when she saw a figure rush in, tracking mud everywhere.

"I just swept this corridor clean!"

Sophia immediately bristled, scolding the figure,

"Ms. Mary, you can't see the stars during the day! Do you really have to be so scared?!"

After staying for so many days, she increasingly felt that the West Suburb Church was a mental institution; apart from Anna and the two others, there were hardly any normal Sisters.

"You can't see them, but the stars can see us!"

Sister Mary was hysterical, her voice sharp and piercing,

"The end is already decided!"

"You will die! I will die! We will all die!!"

With that, she tightened her black robe, hunched her body, and crawled into her dark and sealed room.

"What nonsense..."

"Everyone dies, why be so afraid?"

Sophia glumly swept away the mud Mary had brought in, threw down the broom, and walked towards the deepest part of the corridor.

At the end of the corridor was Li Andy's room.

Along the way, she couldn't help but count her steps, muttering:

"There are so many empty rooms, why did they arrange Andy so far away? And they won't let us move next to him..."
