Chapter 10: You didn’t expect that players can have death replays!

“Guys, new mission! Get back here, quick!”

“Hurry, hurry, hurry! Support our Captain, that unlucky fellow is getting beaten up again!”

Andrei’s face darkened as he looked at the chat. It was his company getting beaten, not him personally, but the way these people talked always made him feel strange!

But there was nothing he could do. Andrei now wanted to take out that marksman, and he could only rely on the players under his command. Besides the players, he didn't have any reliable marksmen at the moment.

There were so many Infantry on the ground, and they had been searching for a long time, but still hadn't found where the enemy was hiding. Andrei's own mini-map didn't have enough range.

He had also discovered that his mini-map seemed to be exclusive to him; players didn't seem to have this feature.

This disappointed Andrei a bit. If every player could have a mini-map, that skill would truly be overpowered!

But it didn't matter. Although his mini-map wasn't very reliable, once he issued the mission, the players quickly ran back, not even thinking of staying to defend the position they had just captured!

“Wait, what’s going on? Why did you all run back?”

“Did we successfully retake position D17? Did anyone stay there to defend?”

Andrei quickly grabbed a player and questioned him loudly. On one hand, he had to play his NPC role well and couldn't know everything. On the other hand, he wanted to remind these players if they had forgotten something important.

Female Knight Qiqin Goblin: 【Damn it, we screwed up! We seem to have forgotten the position we just recaptured!】

Lan Mao Bai Du Da Shan Zhu: 【That’s a bit unexpected. I thought once we recaptured that position, the mission would be over!】

Hearing Andrei’s words, a player immediately slapped his forehead and, rifle in hand, wanted to return to position D17. However, a quick-witted player immediately stepped forward, saluted him, and said:

“Sir, don’t worry, Boris is there with the Soldiers defending it! That position has been recaptured by us!”

Andrei nodded. He naturally knew that Boris, the person he had previously called Old Soldier, wouldn't make such a mistake as the players. He was a proper Soldier.

So he quickly explained the situation of the enemy sniper, then let the players do their thing to find and eliminate the sniper!

In a flash, two players who had chosen the reconnaissance soldier profession found a spot to pop up, setting up their rifles to search for the enemy and simultaneously firing at the enemy Soldiers who were still charging.

The two reconnaissance soldier players both used 98k rifles, which had good power and a flat trajectory. The downside was slow reloading. Overall, it was a good sniper rifle.

Meanwhile, these two players were saying to the other players in the chat:

“Guys, is anyone willing to come up and be cannon fodder? Someone is constantly aiming at the machine gunner. We need bait to lure him out!”

“Anyone who comes to be the machine gunner, whether they get killed by the enemy or not, after the fight, they’ll get 50 Merits upon mission completion!”

As soon as the message was sent, a player immediately ran to the heavy machine gun without hesitation, operating it to sweep fire at the distant crowd.

“I’ll do it! I haven’t used my one revive chance yet!”

“I’ve been eyeing this heavy machine gun for ages, but someone was always using it. Now it’s finally mine!”

It must be said, a player using a heavy machine gun was different from an ordinary Soldier using one. Perhaps it was because players had a crosshair in their field of view.

This wave of fierce machine gun fire instantly took down three charging Black Hawk Soldiers, suppressing the enemy so they couldn't raise their heads.

But even if someone had already ducked, the player just aimed slightly and easily took him out with a series of long bursts, then continued searching for the next target.

But just then, a bullet suddenly shot from the darkness, instantly hitting the player’s head, killing him with a headshot.

“Holy crap! That NPC’s aim is too accurate! I saw where he is, he’s hiding behind that tree and now running to the side!”

In the chat, the killed player unhesitatingly reported the position to the two reconnaissance soldiers. With the alert, the two reconnaissance soldiers immediately aimed their rifles at the distant withered tree, just in time to see a cloaked Black Hawk Soldiers slipping away.

Bang! Bang!

Two gunshots, one after another, hit the Black Hawk Soldiers almost simultaneously, both striking his body.

Clutching the bullet holes in his chest, the Black Hawk Soldiers slowly fell with a look of astonishment, his eyes full of disbelief.

He found it hard to imagine how, from such a distance, on such a chaotic battlefield, the opponent had discovered him the instant he fired his shot.

Unfortunately, he didn't know that players, after being killed, have a kill replay, so even if the player acting as the machine gunner was instantly killed by him, he could clearly see his position through the kill replay.

Immediately after, the two skilled reconnaissance soldier players instantly killed him.

After losing that incredibly skilled marksman, a new player immediately took the machine gunner's position, laughing wildly and firing fiercely at the enemy.

This wave of precise and ruthless shooting instantly suppressed the other charging Black Hawk Soldiers, preventing them from raising their heads. They could only huddle in the shell craters, trembling.

They all realized that there was a formidable machine gunner on the opposite position. As soon as anyone popped their head out of a crater, they would be immediately taken out by a series of burst fires!

In this situation, besides hiding in the craters and trembling, they seemed unable to do anything else.

Andrei breathed a sigh of relief, looking at the enemy who had been completely suppressed. They wouldn't be able to charge up now.

Especially since the machine gun position at D17 also erupted with fierce firing. Although the machine gunner there wasn't as reliable as the players here, it also formed a crossfire with his position, firmly suppressing the enemy.

Taking advantage of this brief respite, Andrei quickly summoned ten more players, expanding his player count to 20 in one go.

He had now realized that although these players were too active and essentially fought individually on the battlefield, completely ignoring orders, in small-scale combat, these guys were all kings of Soldiers!

Endless stamina, accurate marksmanship with built-in crosshairs, coupled with fanatical morale and the excellent equipment they came with upon being summoned—these things combined made them much stronger in combat than his regular Soldiers!

But just then, a messenger with an armband suddenly ran through the communication trench behind Andrei’s position.

“Captain Vorontsov, retreat! This is the division commander’s order! General Fyodorov orders all Soldiers in the first trench to retreat immediately!”
