Chapter 2: It's a rocket headbutt

“Ouch!”

She had fallen before, but this time was clearly different from the past; with this fall, what landed first and took the biggest impact was clearly her chest.

She quickly got up from the ground, wincing and rubbing her chest, “Hiss… that didn’t… didn’t hurt much?”

It felt like being lightly punched by a baby; to say there was no feeling would be impossible, but it truly didn't hurt.

Could it be that if the frontal armor is thick enough, it can really act as a buffer?

No, no, no, this doesn't make sense, okay? A more reasonable explanation should be the physical strength of this body.

Saifei'er extended her left hand to pinch her right arm, specifically the biceps area. Even through the sleeve, she could feel that her arm had no muscle definition, yet she also knew that if her current self were to punch her past self, she could probably kill her past self with one punch.

“Is this a Two-Dimensional Superman?”

While marveling, Saifei'er stood up again. She looked back at her tail swaying from side to side behind her, extending from the end of her spine, also known as the tailbone. Even humans without tails have this bone, said to be a remnant after the tail's degeneration.

Saifei'er's tail was mostly white, turning brown and black at the tip, like a calico cat's tail. She estimated its length to be nearly a meter. She slightly furrowed her beautiful brows, trying to control this 'new organ' that hadn't existed on her body before.

It seemed like it switched from automatic to manual. The tail, which had been swaying freely, suddenly stiffened. If it was like soft silk just now, now it felt like a frozen popsicle.

Uh… since it's her first time having a tail, being a bit clumsy in controlling it is quite normal, right?

She muttered to herself, then controlled her tail to stiffly sway left and right. After roughly adapting to the current rhythm, she carefully stepped out with her right leg, then swung her left hand, and her tail also swung to the left.

“Right, left left!”

“Left, right right!”

With every step, she would softly murmur a phrase. This scene now looked exactly like a baby learning to walk for the first time.

After adapting for a period, Saifei'er could finally walk normally. Although still a bit stiff, at least she wouldn't embarrass herself by falling on flat ground anymore.

Then, she finally had time to observe her surroundings. This seemed to be a forest. It was just dawn, and the temperature was a bit low, but Saifei'er didn't feel cold.

Since she didn't know where she was anyway, she just walked around casually like she was out for a stroll. After a short while, as her attention gradually shifted away from her tail, her tail, as expected, returned to 'automatic mode'.

However, this time her tail seemed to have adapted to her current walking rhythm, and even in automatic mode, there were no more misalignments. The only thing she was still a bit unaccustomed to now was probably the high heels on her feet.

But Saifei'er looked at the mountain path covered with fallen leaves and gravel beneath her feet. She couldn't possibly take off her shoes and walk barefoot on such ground while carrying her shoes, could she? That would be a bit too abstract.

No choice, she could only try her best to get used to it.

Perhaps at first, Saifei'er found this pure green, pollution-free natural environment quite novel, but after walking for nearly an hour and seeing the same scenery all around, she started to feel a bit bored.

“Normally, after reincarnating into another world, and starting in a forest, shouldn't there be a wolf that spits wind blades, or a rabbit that spits ice cones? Or even encountering bandits robbing an imperial princess would be fine. Why is there nothing here?”

While muttering to herself, Saifei'er couldn't help but quicken her pace and start jogging. Her first feeling was lightness! Exceptionally light!

With just a little effort, she could leap several meters. Although she initially only intended to jog, as she ran, she couldn't help but speed up, wanting to test how fast she could run now.

There was almost no time for starting acceleration. The moment Saifei'er decided to sprint, she shot out with a 'whoosh'. The trees on both sides began to recede rapidly. At this point, if anyone else were here, they wouldn't even be able to catch her figure with their naked eyes, only barely seeing the afterimages she left behind from her high-speed movement.

“So fast!” Saifei'er herself couldn't help but widen her eyes, and this wasn't even her full strength yet; she felt she could go even faster!

As she ran, faint golden electric sparks appeared around her. Just as she was about to accelerate further, in a moment of distraction, she seemed to have stepped on a relatively smooth stone. Instantly, she lost her balance and was launched into the air.

“!?”

“Oh no~”

Only then did she remember that she had only just learned to walk less than an hour ago. Running this fast now, wasn't she just asking to fall?

Meanwhile, in this forest, a woman and two men were traveling. One of the taller men suddenly sensed something and showed a vigilant expression, “Be careful, something is rapidly approaching us…”

However, before he could finish his sentence, before any of the three could react, a figure flashed past them and slammed into a large tree nearby with a 'thud'.

Instantly, the man felt a cold sweat break out. If that blow hadn't 'missed' and had hit him accurately, he would probably be dead or severely injured. He quickly put his hand on the weapon strapped to his back and whispered, “Enemy attack!”

However, unlike the vigilant man, his two teammates showed expressions of curiosity and exasperation respectively. The one with the curious expression was the only young girl in the group. She pointed at the 'attacked' tree and said, “I don't think anyone would attack others in this way, would they?”

Following the girl's gaze, they saw a cute Catgirl lying dizzily on the ground with swirly eyes, while the large tree beside her had a clearly visible indentation, almost breaking the tree in half.
