Chapter 67: Page 67

"This is!"

The hook-nosed man took charge of the response.

"What is the problem?"

"Oh! I'm the postman!"

The voice outside was full of energy.

"Here is a letter from 221 Iris Street...Denton, Port Wayne."

"To Miss Aisun-Hitzfeld, who lives here."

Chapter 76: Another Empty House

"what did he say?"

Lemming-Leit, a level six agent from Shadow Lion, wrinkled his hooked nose and his blue-gray eyes suddenly widened.

"It's from No. 221..."

Before he could react, a figure quickly passed him and rushed out, jogging all the way to the postman.

"I... huhu... I am Aisuen Hitzfeld!"

"Good morning, beautiful lady..." The postman was stunned when he saw the fluttering gray hair.

After seeing her face clearly, he widened his eyes in amazement. He immediately took out a bundle of letters from the basket with a wry smile, took out the top one and handed it to her: "...This is a letter for you."

"Thank you!"

"My pleasure."

Without waiting for the postman to ride away on his bike, Hitzfeld immediately began to open the letter impatiently.

"Hey!" Behind him, Lemming-Leiter ran over, holding his hat. "Wait... that's important evidence! Don't tear it apart! I told you not to -"

He was stuck in the middle of his words by his collar.

Xia Yibing followed him up at some point, grabbed his collar with one hand, and pulled his body backward with brute force.

"Listen, little bitch."

Before he could protest, the woman leaned over and whispered in his ear.

"You can write and say whatever you want when you get back, but at least for now, you have to keep quiet."

"..." Feeling the fierce murderous aura, the man's throat moved and he wisely closed his mouth.

Hitzfeld had no intention of paying attention to what was happening behind her; she had an idea that she couldn't wait to confirm.

She glanced at the envelope first and her eyelids twitched.

Not only was the size of the envelope wrong, but the handwriting wasn't hers.

I opened the envelope and it felt thick inside, as if it contained a lot of things.

She pulled out the first folded paper.

spread out.

A row of randomly put together characters.

Only she could understand it - the content was abbreviated based on the pronunciation of Sara language and the pinyin, and the meaning after interpretation was "My name is Aisuen Hitzfeld."

This was written casually by her at the post office.

The point was not this, but - according to her estimation, if there really was someone helping the lady to create this "trick of sending letters back and forth", then it should have been put into the original small envelope and sent back intact.

Instead of the current situation, where the paper had obviously been opened, taken out, read, and then stuffed back in with the other things and put back in a new envelope and sent back to her.

There is something else...what is that something else?

She clamped the paper between her little finger and ring finger, and then opened the second piece of paper.

The paper quality is very good, smooth and sturdy.

After opening it completely, she found that it was a transfer document for a real estate title deed.

[I promise that when certain conditions are met, I will transfer the house and property at No. 12 Flo Street, Blackwood City Bridge District, the house at No. 221 Iris Street, Denton District, Wayne City, and all remaining property to the other party, and I will never regret it.]

[Signature of the transferor: Lilith Gleh]

“???” Hitzfeld’s eyes widened.

She continued to look at the next piece of paper with rapid breathing.

This is a joint statement from the most authoritative currency exchange in Sara, the "Horn Gold Shop" and the "Blackwood City North Railway Station Post Office".

[Dear Miss/Ms. Aisun-Hitsfeld.]

[Because you have met all the conditions of our client, Ms. Lilith Glee, that is, to send a 'strange letter' before the second weekend of December 1983. We are very happy and honored to inform you that a series of property transfer documents signed by Ms. Glee in our bank have come into effect. You have truly become the legal heir of all the property, and all your rights are protected by law.]

"Now it's interesting."

Ethan's chuckle came from the side.

It turned out that he had also followed out and was standing next to the girl with Alfred, and had seen all the documents she had just read.

"Look at this, Lemming."

Ethan took the "Joint Notarization" directly from the girl's hand, held it in front of the hook-nosed man and shook it back and forth.

“This…this is actually…”

Lemming-Lette stared at it several times, and finally stared blankly at the densely packed notarization seals at the bottom.

“But it’s no use.”

It took him a while to react.

"She has... If the intelligence from her eyes is seen by the higher-ups, she won't be able to enjoy these properties even if she gets them."

"You know better than me what the higher-ups' attitude is. They can't let her act alone outside like this!!"

"And add this."

In front, Xia Yibing took another piece of paper from the girl, placed it in front of Lei Ming, and recited the contents on it at the same time.

"'Recommended by former Shadow Lion Level 7 Agent Lilith Dawson, and in view of Lilith Dawson's tireless donations and support to the Royal National Library of Wayne Port over the years, after joint discussion and strict consideration by our company, we now officially make the following decision:'"

"①: Posthumously award Lilith Dawson the Key of Destiny."

"②: Grant Aisun Hitzfeld the title of 'Special Honorary Member of the Royal National Library of Port Wayne', which corresponds to Level 5 authority."

Hitzfeld saw the man's mouth open wider and wider, his face full of disbelief.

"The Key of Destiny and the honorary membership of the library...are they very valuable?"

She knew that the library in the royal capital was actually an organization of extraordinary people that was more powerful than the Shadow Lions, and its real name was "Wheel of Fortune".

Without proof, even the king cannot take the book. This alone makes it much better than the Shadow Lion who is directly controlled by the royal family.

"It can't be said to be precious..."

Alfred's face was also full of shock.

"It's just something that can give you some freedom, that's all..."

"Even Shadow Lion...even the royal family can't control me?"

Hitzfeld was genuinely shocked.

The library was even better than she had expected.

"It's not that exaggerated."

Alfred shook his head quickly.

"Some procedures still need to be followed, such as going through a second or third trial with them, and perhaps even having to meet His Majesty later..."

"But it's true that you'll be free after all this is over. Well... the difference is that the people who control you will change... You can live in the two houses with peace of mind - you can also live in the manor if it's repaired, and these will become your legal property."

“There are only two things: you must accept their supervision and fulfill your membership obligations every year.”

"Duty..." The girl frowned.

"'they'……?"

"Let's not talk about that for now. Anyway, it won't be worse than your previous situation—"

The old man glared at her angrily: "Let me do the math... This letter was sent yesterday, but it won't be that fast to complete all the formalities. Plus, these things are all packed in one letter... They should be helping to organize and send all the documents."

"So tell me - Esun Hitzfeld. Tell me what you did to have them paying attention to you so early?"

Being stared at by him, and vaguely feeling the gazes of others casting their gazes in this direction, the girl's lips curled up slightly.

She remembered the bar where she had to stand on tiptoe to see her head.

And the duck voice that was frightened by her whims.

……

Within half an hour, almost everyone in the house had left.

Hitzfeld goes home.

Passing by the living room.

Go upstairs.

Pass through two iron gates.

I went to the study on the third floor, pushed open the door, and put away all the documents.

After doing all this, she stood there and looked around the room.

Empty.

Just like her heart, although it is filled with things, it is empty and feels very hollow.

Xia Yibing quietly appeared behind the girl.

"I thought she would at least write me a letter back...tell me what she thought..."

The voice gradually became choked.

"but none……"

"Nothing at all……"

"She has already written it."

The woman put her arm around her shoulders and held the trembling girl in her arms.

"She wrote 'hope' in our hearts."

“That’s what humans have.”

"The most precious thing."

Let's skip the inappropriate stuff and just talk about my feelings and thoughts.

As the opening, the importance of the first unit is self-evident. It undertakes the arduous task of introducing the setting of the characters, plot and worldview, while also maintaining interest and storytelling.

It’s a bit difficult… Here I have to say that “Insomnia” encountered many twists and turns during the conception process, but fortunately the final result is still acceptable.

Although there are some omissions, the characters I wanted to create have all been written out, and the things I wanted to explain and the clues I wanted to lay out have all been written out. If I were to evaluate myself, I would give it a score of 70-80, which is quite satisfactory.

There are mainly two questions to be answered here.

The first one: Hitzfeld was the first one to run out and commit suicide in the eternal night.

A normal person would definitely not act like that, but it should be noted that she is under a lot of psychological pressure.

The entire family of Hitzfell Manor died suddenly overnight. Was all this related to her action of opening the box? Did it mean that these people were killed by her? She was in such self-doubt at that time.

So I think that even though she is afraid of death and a little selfish, as a relatively kind person, she would be very scared and afraid that someone else would be killed because of her - if she does nothing.
