There is absolutely nothing about mystery, mystery masters, or evil.
Considering that she has been writing materials day and night these days, this doesn't seem to be difficult to understand.
She must be tired of it, too.
Darent was silent.
According to his character, he should have interrupted and helped liven up the atmosphere a long time ago.
But the news from Wayne has not yet arrived, and no one knows what the final outcome will be.
How can he be active?
If bad news comes in the middle of something exciting, everyone will be embarrassed.
"Ethan...were you out on a case some time ago?"
“…That’s what happened.”
"Purrowan Point? Charizard?"
"You found it out by looking at the scars, right?" Ethan raised his hands and turned them over a few times. "...I didn't expect to hide it from you."
"Maps."
Hitzfeld suddenly looked at the wooden man.
"How was your rest during this time?"
"What problem could I have..."
Darent was stunned for a moment, then forced a smile at her.
"How old am I!"
He patted his chest loudly, "I am the elder of all of you!... Elders, do you understand? You should stay under the wings of the elders! I will protect you from the wind and rain!"
He started talking nonsense as usual, and the carriage was suddenly filled with a cheerful atmosphere.
Arriving in the city, at the intersection of 12 Flo Street, the car stopped temporarily here, allowing Hitzfeld to observe the hustle and bustle of the street up close.
"Want to go down and take a walk?"
"No... the silver chain is still visible on my hand, and I don't want to be talked about and go to jail."
Is this a joke?
Everyone, including the female agent, was stunned for a moment, wondering how she could be so open-minded.
Didn't get off at Flo Street, just drove slowly past it.
Soon, they sped up again and took Hitzfeld around the entire Blackwood City.
Qiaojie District, Hongfeng District, Central District, and Beihai District.
So there are people she knows and people she doesn’t know.
Been there, haven't been there.
They showed her almost everything.
On the way, Hitzfeld noticed that there were trucks parked in many places, and some sections of the road were blocked, so the car had to turn and take a detour.
"Repairing the power station?" she asked Ethan.
"No." Ethan shook his head.
“It’s to dismantle the power station.”
Hitzfeld pursed his lips and smiled.
Alternating current is not difficult from a technical perspective. As long as people are mentally liberated, it will be easy to popularize AC power stations with Sarah's current level of technology.
It looked like she no longer had to rely on the broken generator behind the mansion.
That thing was only suitable as an emergency plan. If she was pardoned this time, she wanted to spend money to connect a line to the manor.
After driving around like this, the car finally arrived at the beach.
Hitzfeld got out of the car with the help of the female police officer, raised his hands to lift the hair out of his eyes, and simply took off the blindfold.
The sun was already half below the horizon, and the orange-red light was crushed and scattered in the ripples, pushing and rippling, like a bridge of light connecting two worlds thousands of miles apart.
Hitzfeld had indeed guessed who she would meet at the last stop, but when she actually saw the sail at the other end of the Bridge of Light - a sailboat, she couldn't help but feel a little nervous and excited.
Xia Yibing is here.
The cry of an eagle echoed in the sky, accompanied by the sound of flapping wings. The girl felt her shoulders sink and a large bird had landed on them as if it were familiar to her.
She turned her head and looked at Black Owl, and Black Owl was also looking at her.
She suddenly became a little flustered, because she knew very well... Although what she did this time could be explained as self-rescue, she actually violated many precepts.
That's why she insisted on coming to see her in shackles.
She was also worried about being alienated.
Time is like this - when you want it to go faster, it's as slow as a snail, but when you don't want it to go faster, it's extremely fast.
There is someone who is even more despicable than others, but you have no way to deal with it.
Because of this thing, when Hitzfeld came back to his senses from the eye contact and realized his body was stiff, the sloop had already docked and a man was walking towards them with big strides.
The sea breeze blew her hair, but she ignored it, her eagle eyes fixed on the gray-haired girl.
He approached and stood in front of her. Hitzfeld did not dare to look up, but just stood against the tips of their shoes.
Darent stood more than ten meters away and wanted to take a look, but Ethan and the female agent forced him back into the car.
Suddenly, my chin was pinched and lifted up.
"Handcuffs and shackles."
"Hmm... so you know you're wrong."
It's a familiar voice.
But the tone was cold.
Hitzfeld felt his heart sinking.
Just when she thought everything was beyond redemption, she felt herself being hugged.
"summer……"
"Idiot! Idiot!"
The thing that was holding her was tighter than shackles, as if it was trying to rub her into her body, and she was sobbing in between.
"I didn't know... you went through all this..."
"Forgive me, will you, Aisuen?"
"I can't stand it anymore... I wasn't here when all this happened..."
"It's me who should apologize."
Hitzfeld moved her lips, finally realizing the other party's attitude, and replied more firmly.
"I was so irresponsible... This is not how a mature adult should behave."
She tried to stand on tiptoe and lick the falling tears with her tongue.
Then, as it should be, she was greeted, invaded, and the two kissed thoroughly.
The setting sun cast a golden glow on them, and their hair was lifted by the sea breeze, entangled like seaweed in the abyss.
"Sorry……"
The girl kept repeating the word in between.
"I'm sorry... Xia..."
"I won't make the same mistake again..."
The woman took a deep breath of her fragrance.
For so many nights, the taste of my dreams finally came true today.
Who cares about tomorrow?
authority?
responsibility?
At least at this moment, she didn't have to think about anything.
Unit Summary
Time is tight, the thank you list for rewards in the past two months should be sent out in early March.
Without further ado, let me talk about the main theme of this unit: it is actually the process of reconciliation with oneself, as Coldis said in "One Hundred Years of Solitude".
In fact, what I wanted at the beginning was to imitate the format of "84 Charing Cross Road" and let Aqing and Abing constantly describe the life and scenery around them through letters, and show more styles through some trivial matters and details, and try to slow down and fade the texture of time as much as possible, so as to create a relatively warm and daily short story.
But after I started writing, I decided that this was not a good idea. Here is an example of why.
In a movie, during the process of directing the film, if the director suddenly has a better idea, or an actor suddenly has a burst of acting skills - or it can be that his acting skills are better than others, and you can clearly feel that the two actors are not on the same level when you watch it - many people may think that they should "make the best use of everything", and if there is a better idea, don't hesitate, just go for it, and if there is a good actor, don't hesitate, let him give it his all.
But in fact this is not the case, because any work - this is based on my personal thinking and understanding - must remain complete and consistent in its overall style.
A police and gangster film cannot have a special love scene.
A romance film cannot include a specifically science fiction plot.
The first type of police and gangster film, if you want to have a romance, you can, but you have to insert the romance plot from the beginning, and let different plots and rhythms alternate back and forth, instead of opening up a separate section for the romance scene. This will appear very abrupt.
The second one is the same, the meaning is to express that [keeping in step] is above all else.
For this consistency, many things have to give way. Even if you come up with a better idea, even if you invite better actors, if forcibly inserting them will make this section inconsistent with the overall style, then you should prevent them from entering the scene, or performing.
This is why veteran actors and talented actors are invited to play with popular stars and are asked to act restrained. Because if they act freely, the other party will not be able to catch up, and the audience will feel awkward when watching, and the style will be messed up.
The same thing happened to me. The idea was good, but it didn't fit the overall style of the book. This isn't a subject that allows you to write hundreds of thousands of words, or even more than 200,000 words. And then I realized that Hitzfeld wasn't an ordinary character. Her "recuperation" was destined to be different from that of other agents. I should have spent more time and effort on describing this aspect, rather than using so-called daily life to say that this could heal the soul.
That’s not the case. It definitely isn’t.
If Hitzfeld's inner loss could be soothed in this way, it would be a betrayal of the previous unit. It would make Coldis's death seem quite insignificant, almost like a play.
It’s not impossible to force an explanation, but it’s too deliberate and too cliché. I don’t like it, and I don’t think readers will like it either.
So... I would rather take the opportunity to force an explanation on the word "daily" that I mentioned in the summary of the last unit.
It’s true that you spend most of your time at home, right?
How come this isn't everyday?
Then let’s talk about Hitzfeld’s changes in this volume.
It's basically just applying what Lengdis said, she has to think it through, figure it out, and then save herself.
Some people may think that it still seems arbitrary, why not let Xia accompany him, why not let friends help, etc.
I think this is indeed possible. Many people will trust others more when encountering similar things, which is not wrong. But I think at least for the character of Hitzfeld, her outward weakness cannot cover up her inner strength. If I also arranged for her to get comfort in this way, then the character would collapse.
So I won’t do this. Trusting Xia is certain, but the only thing - the process of reconciling with myself, Hitzfeld must and can only save himself.
I believe this will highlight her character more, and I also believe that allowing characters to make some mistakes will not obscure their arc, but will make them seem more real and more effective.
Finally, some readers wrote long reviews complaining that the protagonist’s status was too low, and that he was suppressed and controlled despite being so mysterious and important.
All I can say is that you can be more patient.
First of all, we need to understand one thing: when did Hitzfeld begin to gain power?
That should have started from the end of the last unit when she got the Dead Bone Ice Needle.
But what happens after you get the Dead Bone Ice Needle?
I spent an entire unit describing her psychological changes during this period, and this entire unit serves this focus.
There was no such thing as suppression or control at all - she tied herself in shackles to see her lover out of guilt for her lover. As for what she would do in another situation - I didn't give her a chance to show her attitude, did I?
It should be possible to see from the last few chapters that her status will undergo a qualitative change.
Ordinary extraordinary people - those agents are not ordinary people - they can't stand even hearing her talk about "secrets" and are about to faint. The mystery is so high that no one can continue to treat her like that if this news is known...
Someone may ask here, why don’t you give her the opportunity to show her attitude?
