Chapter 241 Small Commodity Base
Liu Hongmin's proposal for a small commodity base (the fifth proposal of the Double Session was revised, and the third one was changed to develop small commodities) was soon implemented. Xiyuan collected data on small commodities from various places and decided to expand four small commodity bases across the country.
The first one is Yiwu, which is the best developed small commodity base in the country. They started to set up a small commodity market in the late 60s. During special periods, they also used the method of "trading sugar for chicken feathers" to trade small commodities. After the reform and opening up, they gradually developed a small commodity market. After so many years of development, it has formed a certain scale.
However, if Yiwu wants to seize the international market, its current scale is far from enough. Therefore, the state plans to invest 100 million yuan to expand Yiwu's small commodity market.
As a result, many businessmen came here to invest and build factories. Liu Hongmin was the first to do so, and a branch of his toy factory was built here. However, this branch did not produce Transformers, but small toys, small accessories and other plastic products that required lathe molds.
It is not difficult for the toy factory to build a branch factory. The toy factory has accumulated a lot of foreign exchange over the years. After converting these foreign exchange into RMB, it has invested in Jinpeng Company and the traditional Chinese medicine industry. In addition, when disasters occur in various places, the toy factory will donate some, ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions.
The toy factory deliberately recruited more employees so that they could be sent out to provide assistance to various disaster areas.
Apart from this, the toy factory has no other major expenses. The only expenses that could reach the level of 100,000 yuan are probably purchases for the canteen and supermarket.
Therefore, the toy factory has plenty of money. Not to mention building a branch factory, even building three or four would not be a problem.
In June 1988, there were more than ten factories built in Yiwu, but the toy factory had the largest investment, reaching 6 million yuan. And with the toy factory's channels, the factory was built in less than half a year, and the equipment was moved in. After debugging, the old and the new were brought in, and it was officially put into production before the New Year's Day.
The second one is Linyi. Because it is close to the northern industrial zone, the country did not build a factory near Linyi.
However, the state still cooperated with Jinpeng Company, each investing 1200 million yuan, and Jinpeng Company built Linyi Small Commodity City. The Small Commodity City was completed before the freezing, and can accommodate merchants, all of whom are self-employed businesses in Linyi and surrounding towns. They have a certain business sense and saw the advantages of the Small Commodity City. They rented the shops before the Small Commodity City was built.
Under the leadership of the state and Jinpeng Company, factory sales personnel from various places had in-depth contact with small commodity tenants. After learning about the products of each factory, they went to the site to inspect the goods and signed contracts.
Linyi Small Commodity City opened on November 11, earlier than the Yiwu Small Commodity Base.
Linyi Small Commodity City's customers are the Southern Dynasty and the Japanese. The economies of the two places are very developed, but the prices of small commodities have also risen accordingly. Now that I see that Linyi Small Commodity City has a full range of goods, low prices, and good quality, I immediately became interested.
In less than a month, Linyi Small Commodity City signed hundreds of orders worth more than 30 million US dollars.
In addition, all small commodities from various cities in the Central Plains were purchased in Linyi. Fortunately, the government increased the number of trains and buses to Linyi, otherwise it would not be able to meet the transportation needs of small wholesale commodities from all over the country.
The third is Mudanjiang, which has added wholesale of vegetables and fruits on the basis of small commodities. The geographical environment of Laosu determines that the eastern region cannot grow crops on a large scale, so the supply of vegetables and fruits in Laosu has always been tight. But for the northeast region, these are no problems at all. It just needs policy guidance.
As an old industrial base, the Northeast has all kinds of factories, which can fully supply Mudanjiang's trade with the Soviet Union.
Now that our relationship with Lao Su has finally eased, Lao Su still has some money in his hands. Wouldn't it be a pity not to earn it? What's more, when Lao Su is finished, this trade channel will become an important channel for plundering Lao Su's legacy.
A few years later, a large number of Taoist priests gathered in Mudanjiang, and they used vegetables and fruits to exchange for a large number of weapons and equipment from Lao Su, making outstanding contributions to the progress of my country's military industry.
The fourth is in Pengcheng. The trade channel between Pengcheng and Hong Kong has been opened up long ago, and we can fully utilize this channel to strive for the market in Southeast Asia.
There are many garment factories run by Hong Kong people in Pengcheng, and they follow this path. Now the country wants to continue this path to sell small commodities, and those Hong Kong people will not object, but will even be happy. They can become channel dealers and make a profit from the price difference.
There is a lot of work in Pengcheng, and it is easy to develop small commodities. All the factory needs to do is add a few production lines specifically for the production of small commodities.
With the help of Pengcheng, small commodities from Pengcheng were the first to be shipped.
In addition to these four small commodity bases, each province has also built its own small commodity base, including Wuai Market in Fengtian, Nansan Market in Changshan, Hanzheng Street Market, Chaotianmen Market, Baigou Market, Tianyi Wholesale Market, Renmin Shopping Mall, Changde Qiaonan Market, etc. These small commodity bases have also developed very well, becoming the distribution centers of small commodities in various provinces, saving the time of stocking goods for individual businesses in various provinces and prospering the economy of various provinces.
The provinces did not have the idea of earning foreign exchange, but many foreigners still came to these small commodity bases for various reasons and signed orders.
In the following years, small commodity bases all over the country sprang up like mushrooms after rain. Faced with competition, none of these small commodity bases went bankrupt.
The population base in China is too large, and there is a large demand for small commodities. In the past, everyone felt that there was a shortage of supplies, but in fact, it was because of road problems that made it difficult to transport small commodities, so they could not enter towns and villages. Now that small commodity bases have emerged, surrounding counties and cities can pick up goods nearby, and they have quickly spread to surrounding towns and villages.
These small commodities were not expensive, and many were household necessities, so there was no need to worry about sales. Soon, many towns and villages opened shops and bought goods from counties and cities to sell. Although they were first-hand, they were still in short supply.
Relying on this supply chain, a large number of people were supported. These shop owners became the first group of people in towns and villages to become rich, which we usually call "ten thousand yuan households".
In just a few years, our small commodities have become popular internationally. These small commodities are of good quality and low price, and are very suitable for economically underdeveloped areas. However, even in economically developed areas, there are still people who are not very wealthy, and our small commodities can reduce their living burden.
