Chapter 180: The fortress stands

In the early morning, stepping on a few strands of morning dew, an army quietly and quickly marched out, the bright blood-red Lagrande dragon flag flashing with charming light.

"Such fertile land... It's a pity that we can't make use of it." Roland sighed.

"We have limited manpower, but unfortunately we don't have the ability to gather our wandering tribesmen." Renault shrugged helplessly.

"We are constantly facing war. We have no way to retreat. We can only expand our territory as much as possible in order to buy space for development time." Roland's eyes were extremely deep.

"..." Renault was stunned for a moment. No wonder his king was so keen on expanding the country's territory. Even though he was completely unable to develop it, he still worked tirelessly. It turned out that he had this purpose.

"Our population is smaller than that of the orcs. We can only use our vast territory and strong fortresses to stop their actions. If necessary, we can give up some land and shrink our defense line." Roland said calmly to Renault.

"You are right." Renault was stunned, but after thinking for a moment he had to admit what Roland said.

"But once Lulong Fortress is rebuilt... we can't afford to lose it!" Roland said slowly. He didn't want the tragedy of Dol Guldur to be repeated in Riverglide. Dol Guldur was originally an elven city, not a true fortress, but after falling into the hands of the orcs, it was completely transformed into a fortress! Lulong Fortress was even more terrifying than Dol Guldur, as it was originally built as a war fortress, with no consideration for civilian use. All its facilities were built to serve the military. If the orcs captured it, Riverglide, and indeed the entire Kingdom of Raglan, would be in turmoil.

"Do you think the 500 men stationed there are enough to cover her expenses now?" Roland asked with a sigh.

"But we can't ignore the safety of Jiliu City!" Renault said helplessly.

"Alas... let Kaslo stay in Lulong Fortress from now on. The deterrent power of a dragon knight can always intimidate most of the villains." Roland had no choice but to release his only dragon knight. The combat power of a level 3 dragon knight is not weaker than that of a level 6 professional. After all, their output depends entirely on the dragon mount, and the role of the knight is only to protect the blind spot behind the dragon mount.

"It's a bit of a waste to put Caslo here." Renault said with some regret.

"There has to be a high-end combat force here who can intimidate the enemy. If Kaslo doesn't come, do we expect Omsk to come here?" Roland's face suddenly turned dark. It was indeed more outrageous to leave a hero here than to disgrace the dragon knight. After all, hero units act together with the knights. As a profession with extremely high command bonuses, the knight has never been a profession that can survive alone.

"Your Highness, we are almost at our destination!" Roland and the others had unknowingly arrived near their destination.

The wide river surface reflected the distant green forest and blue sky, and an obvious road appeared in the forest, leaving a clear gap.

"Your Highness, Lao Lin Road is on the other side. We have reached our destination!" Renault whispered while looking at the intersection on the other side.

"Huh? We're here!" Roland was startled and finally reacted.

"Let's get started!" Roland took out the alchemy bottle that sealed the Lulong Fortress and raised it up.

"What a magnificent fortress!" Renault murmured as he stared at the miniature fortress in the bottle.

As Roland spoke the incomprehensible dragon language, six golden and red hexagrams suddenly appeared on the alchemical flask, hovering above, below, behind, and to the left and right of the flask. As the dragon language emanated from Roland's mouth, the tiny patterns on the hexagrams constantly shifted, and the magic patterns quietly connected together in the dragon language...

"Buzz!" The first hexagram magic circle shone brightly, and then disappeared in an instant after being accompanied by a dazzling light.

Then came the second, the third... Finally, after Roland chanted for several minutes, the last hexagram array exploded and dissipated. The entire alchemy bottle shook lightly and the magic patterns on it shattered and dissipated in an instant.

"The seal has been broken..." Roland's voice trembled with excitement.

"Yes...the last war fortress...Lulong..." There was a glint of light in the corners of Renault's eyes.

"Crack!" Roland threw the alchemy bottle down heavily, making a crisp shattering sound.

"Boom!" A ball of red light flashed and a shadow slowly stood between heaven and earth.

"Lulong!" Two Lagrang characters were written in gilt on the top of the city wall. Countless golden dragon flags with red backgrounds fluttered in the wind on the city wall. The tall city wall was purple and ink-colored as a whole, and a solemn and murderous atmosphere from the ancient times came.

"It was dyed red with the blood of the orcs who had fallen in the fortress..." Renault was deeply shocked. How many orcs had to be killed to cover the entire fortress wall with their blood?

"Bastion!" Roland was delighted. The Lulong Fortress that appeared before them was actually a four-pointed star-shaped bastion! The bastion was known as the most difficult defensive facility to conquer in the era of cold weapons!

"How brutal!" Only after seeing the real thing could one discover details invisible within the alchemical bottle. Besides the eight obvious dragon-falling towers, this Lulong Fortress actually boasted a hundred heavy crossbow towers! Those things could also pose a significant threat to a dragon. If used against humans... I'm afraid even the royal guards wouldn't be able to withstand a few arrows!

"This thing was built to deal with dragons!" Roland couldn't help but complain.

"Your Highness... the facts prove that you are right... Lulong Fortress was indeed built because of the threat of wild dragons, and its purpose is to hunt dragons!" Renault grinned, revealing two rows of white teeth.

"Abnormal!" Roland couldn't help but praise the Lagrande royal family. They were so cruel! They actually built a dragon hunting fortress to stop the dragon!

"This thing was originally deployed on the Gray Mountains, but later it was said to have been captured by the orcs from the north... But the facts have proved that there is no way the orcs could break through the Lulong Fortress, which is known as the last fortress! That is a place where even the dragons have to suffer!" Renault sighed.

"..." Roland really wanted to tell him that the Lulong Fortress in the game had not only been captured, but also demolished by the orcs! If it weren't for the omnipotent system... he might not even have seen the bricks of the Lulong Fortress.

"What a majestic building! What a spectacular building! This is the afterglow of the empire! It is the hope of the empire! It is the embodiment of the empire's indomitable will!" Renault's voice gradually became excited.

"My goodness, is he crazy? He's even talking in a rhythmic manner? I'm afraid he's seriously ill..." Roland frowned as he watched Renault dancing like a madman.

"Your Highness, why do you look unhappy?" Renault, who had been entertaining himself with the soldiers for half a day, finally noticed Roland standing quietly beside him, and asked curiously.

"Of course we're happy, but we're not crazy. Even the most solid and magnificent fortress can only truly belong to us if we defend it!" Roland said worriedly, looking towards the direction of Dol Guldur.

"Don't worry, Your Highness! No one can cross Lulong while we are alive!" The soldiers who were about to be stationed here straightened their chests, with a determined fighting spirit flashing in their eyes.
