Chapter 37: Orcs move

The next morning, Renault led all the members of the Knights across the Rapid River in batches. With the help of Radil, they built an outpost that was not very beautiful but absolutely solid. The whole outpost was built directly by Radil using earth magic. Outside was a circle of square stone walls with a total length of 100 meters, thickness of 3 meters and height of 6 meters. Inside the wall, they built a wooden shed to serve as a horse stable. In the middle was a watchtower with a length and width of 10 meters and a height of 15 meters for guarding and living. A beacon tower was also built on the top to warn the Rapid City on the other side of the river. The price of successfully making this outpost stand here was that old man Radil drank up his stock of mana recovery potion, but even so, he fell into a weak state due to excessive magic power consumption.

"Caslo, you stay here. I will take some people to scout along the river bank." Renault waved to Caslo.

"Well, don't fight head-on if something happens. At worst, we can retreat to the city of Rapids and defend it." Caslo warned. He was afraid that Roland would be careless and be lured into deep by the orcs. After all, the knights who have exhausted their fighting spirit are no better than infantry.

"Hold the city and defend..." Renault's mouth twitched. He thought about the pitiful city walls of Jiliu City...and felt even more unreliable.

"Go early and come back early!" Caslo patted the warhorse's buttocks, and immediately the well-equipped Charles warhorse rushed out like an arrow.

"Boom~" Amid the sound of galloping horses' hooves, the Holy Knights led by Renault were moving farther and farther away.

"I hope everything is safe." Kaslo sighed, then stepped onto the dragon saddle, and the four-legged flying dragon flapped its wings and took off into the air, flying towards the depths of the dark forest.

"Hmm~ How's your reconnaissance going?" Azog stared at an orc in front of him fiercely with his small eyes.

"Master... Master, we haven't discovered anything yet... That army seemed to appear out of nowhere." The orc leader explained stutteringly.

"Roar!" Azog roared, and the iron claws embedded in his left arm directly pierced the neck of the orc in front of him. Then he exerted all his strength and lifted the orc high up. Then he casually threw him into the wolf pack. In an instant, dozens of wolves jumped up and cut him into pieces in mid-air.

"You useless thing don't deserve to live!" Azog said fiercely, and countless orcs under him lowered their heads in fear.

"Find them! I want to know where they come from!" Angry roars echoed in the abandoned castle.

"Sir, we have arrived at the Old Forest Road!" A knight said to the stopped Renault. Coming back here again, Renault was filled with emotion for a long time. At that time, that mighty group of torrent infantry followed the king to the north to participate in the Battle of Lonely Mountain. Now... he and others have returned, but what they have is left in Lonely Mountain.

"Teams of 10, spread out and conduct reconnaissance!" Renault said casually after looking around.

"Human knight..." The orcs, with their keen hearing, had spotted the enemy before the knights of the Holy Glory Knights. They lay quietly in ambush in the shadows of the woods, ready to leap at any moment...

"Why does it feel so eerie?" A knight raised his lance vigilantly and looked around.

"Be careful!"

"I feel here...ah!" A knight screamed, and an orc who fell from the sky successfully stabbed the dagger in his hand into the knight's body. Because of the angle, the dagger pierced through the plate armor and nailed to the knight's shoulder socket.

"Roar!" The angry knights swung their swords and slashed hard.

"Orcs!" The scream came from far away.

"Catch them! Let's go!" A small orc leader waved to the orcs who surrounded him.

"Glory, mercy... humility!" The knights superimposed various states on themselves except sacrifice.

"For the glory of Raglan! Charge!" The ten surrounded knights broke through the orcs' weak encirclement with lightning speed and galloped away on their horses.

"Lek! Hold on! Don't fall asleep!" The galloping knights surrounded the injured knight in the middle, and the group quickly rushed out of the forest. The knights who were traveling with him kept using voice to stimulate the injured knight so that he would not fall asleep.

"Lord Renault! Orcs!" After seeing Renault and his group by the river from afar, the team of knights quickly brought their teammates to join them.

"Be alert!" Renault immediately turned his gaze to the injured knight.

"Holy Inspiration! Holy Healing!" A soft golden light fell on the knight. After regaining consciousness, he gritted his teeth and pulled out the dagger embedded in his flesh.

"Ugh~" The pain made his face look hideous, and he tightly gripped his weapon to relieve the pain.

"Alright, young man! You're very brave." As he passed by Renault, the knight suddenly heard the words whispered in his ear. Excessive blood loss made him drowsy. Under the divine healing skill, his wounds quickly healed and scabbed...

"Clang!" Renault casually hung the lance next to the saddle, and drew out his favorite knight's sword with his backhand. Compared with the bulky lance, the 5-meter-long knight's sword seemed extremely flexible.

"Kill!" Renault shouted softly, and all the fighting spirit in his body surged towards the knight's sword. The sacred fighting spirit with peaceful attributes formed a sword light about 3 meters long outside the long sword.

As the word "kill" was spoken, the golden sword light quickly swept across the surging orcs and finally dissipated behind them.

The upper bodies of the orcs that were swept by the sword were still trying to rush forward, but their lower bodies had been cut in half and left in place. They lay on the ground wailing with their limbs separated. Renault watched them rolling and wailing in their own organs and blood indifferently. He looked at their totems carefully and found that these orcs came from the same place as the first group of orcs at the foot of Lonely Mountain - Tolgoldo!

"Trouble! The orcs are right under our noses..." Renault's eyes were full of anxiety. If Legolas hadn't brought the unusual movements of the orcs in the north and reminded Roland of the orc army in the south, they would probably have to wait until the orcs arrived at their doorstep before they could discover it.

"We can't fight on two fronts..." A knight muttered as he looked at everything in front of him.

"But we guess we have to fight on two fronts again!" Renault sighed softly and looked into the distance.

"So... Azog in the south can't hold back anymore?" Roland looked at Renault's report in surprise in the warm tent.

"We are in big trouble..." said the weakened old man Radil while playing with the griffin eggs he brought with him.

"Well, this trouble is extremely big. If they attack, we will be the first to bear the brunt. Dale and Erebor can give us little help. They also need to guard against the orcs in the north crossing the Lonely Mountain to attack them. The only ones who can intervene in this matter are the elves... Forget it, what can you expect the elves to do?" Roland analyzed.

"Goodness! It seems these allies are useless!" Caslo rolled his eyes.

"Instead of expecting reinforcements from Thranduil, we should consider the army of Dain Ironfoot." Ladir raised his eyebrows.

"Your Highness! There's something happening on the other side of the river!" A Bataniyan archer suddenly rushed in.
