Chapter 44: Children of the Stars

"There's big trouble in the north! How could such a tiny place like Lonely Mountain deserve the personal attention of old man Sauron? Even the army of Mordor is here!" Roland sat on the dragon's back, with a lot of thoughts in his mind.

"Sir, don't worry, everything will be over! The glory of Lagrande bless you and me!" Caslo turned his head and comforted.

"Alas, even if the elves join the battle, our chances of winning are not high!" Roland said after thinking for a moment.

"Why?" Caslo was puzzled. Roland could now muster a force of 800 men, the White Wings could also muster a force of 500 men, the Iron Hills could muster an army of more than 1,000 men, Thorin could muster a dwarf army of nearly 2,000 men, Bard of the Valley could also squeeze out 500 men, and the elves had at least 3,500 men. Calculated in this way, they could gather a coalition force of at least 8,000 men. With reasonable arrangements, it might not be impossible to defeat the orcs.

"We have to fight on two fronts! The only one who can support the south is King Dain of Iron Hill!" Roland explained.

"The elves will definitely intercept the orcs from Gunbaldar Fortress heading south. Bard and Thorin will do anything for their homeland. The only ones who can escape are the dwarves of Iron Hill led by Dain Ironfoot! And we are facing Azog of Dol Guldur, who is supported by the army of Mordor!" Roland said with a headache.

"Wait! Send me back! You go to the north to deliver the message!" Roland suddenly seemed to remember something and suddenly showed joy on his face.

"This..." Although Kaslo didn't understand his king's order, he still did it.

Had Roland figured out a way to break the impasse? The answer was, yes! This Middle-earth was very similar to the Middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings, which Roland had played. So, could those hidden powers in Middle-earth actually exist? Roland planned to test it. If they did, then he could say he had already won half the battle for Lonely Mountain!

Roland whispered a few words to Ladir with Renault before hurriedly riding towards the docks. Coincidentally, there's actually a hidden faction of Order within the Dark Forest: the Star Elves, known as the Children of the Stars! They reside in the secret realm of Singari within the Dark Forest, directly north of Dol Guldur, and rely on a powerful forbidden star spell array to conceal their entire kingdom. If I'm not mistaken, there should be dragon riders in this Singari kingdom! The player mistakenly discovered an old dragon, but that was the Fifth Age, and it's only the Third Age now, so it should be a young Star Dragon. Its powerful barrier ability forged the Singari elves' star barrier, separating them from the outside world and successfully avoiding the turbulent times. This elven tribe seems to have been a group of high elves who took refuge, and their faith in the Star Goddess eventually led them to call themselves Star Elves!

Roland felt that he should go look for this secluded kingdom. If he could successfully persuade the elves to join the war, Roland would not be in a panic when facing the orc army in the south, and he could even push back against Dol Guldur. In this way, he would not have to trouble the elves of the Golden Forest and Rivendell to attack this fortress.

"King! Where are we going?" Seeing Roland about to head into the forest, Renault grabbed him. That was the direction of Togordo! Could his own king be foolish? Planning to split the fortress with two Paladins? Even two Dragon Knights would struggle against a well-manned and fully-equipped fortress, let alone two Paladins.

"Let's go find someone who can break the deadlock!" Roland smiled mysteriously.

"Don't! King! We can't break the deadlock. A single slide from the two of us can't even feed the wolves in the Dolgoldo Fortress! Our gift of heads sent from a thousand miles away is too heavy!" Renault hugged Roland directly. He was afraid that Roland would lead him to break into Dolgoldo. In the face of the huge difference in numbers, even heroic knights would not be able to escape.

"What? Dogordo? Get away from me! Who the hell wants to go there? I'm not crazy! I can't beat Azog!" Roland angrily kicked away Renault who was hugging him.

Unexpectedly, Renault was not angry. Instead, he smiled and said, "Okay! Your Highness, you kicked well!" Roland's normal thinking process made Renault feel relieved.

"Let's go find the legendary star elves! If they're willing to join the battle, we still have a chance of winning!" Roland said unhappily as he adjusted his plate armor.

"Yes! Your Highness is right!" Renault greeted with a smile.

"Let's go! We have to hurry up and avoid the orcs!" Roland said.

"Then we can't ride horses!" Renault said solemnly.

"Not riding a horse? How many days will it take to get there?" Roland was shocked.

"Your Highness, horse hoof prints will reveal our whereabouts, horse hoof sounds will reveal our direction, and riding a horse in the forest is not a good choice..." Renault explained patiently.

"Uh... what you said makes a lot of sense." Roland thought about it and realized that he was indeed stupid. He only cared about convenience and didn't consider the series of serious consequences that riding a horse would bring.

"Your Highness, let's leave quickly while it's still daylight..." Renault looked at the sky.

"Let's go!" Roland took a last look in the direction of the Rapid City, turned around and left with Renault.

"What? Orcs from Mordor?" Thranduil stared at Caslo at the bottom of the stairs in shock.

"Yes! Our allies were ambushed by them, and suffered heavy casualties!" Kaslo said calmly.

"How could they come to the north!" Thranduil still couldn't believe it.

"But it is true!" Kaslo took out the totem flag from his arms.

"This totem does not belong to the orcs of the Misty Mountains, and it is different from the flag of the orcs in Dol Guldur! Our allies were ambushed while scouting south. So, respected King of the Woodlands, what other orc forces do you think there are in the south?" Caslo raised his eyelids and said coldly.

"Damn it!" The muscles on Thranduil's face twitched, and it was obvious that he was extremely angry. You have to know that during the War of the Last Alliance, before the human and elven coalition attacked the Black Gate of Mordor, two armies had already fought with the Orcs in advance. They were the Woodland Elves led by Thranduil's father and the elves of the Golden Forest. The two elven armies were ambushed in the Dead Marshes. The then King of the Woodland Kingdom, Oropher, who was also Thranduil's father, died in this battle. Even more ironic was that Dol Guldur, the old fortress occupied by the Orcs, was actually the old capital of the Woodland Elves...

Even Kaslo couldn't help but grumble. "Brother, why didn't you just tear down the city after you left? Is magic too expensive? Or are all the elven wizards dead? Why leave such a huge scourge for everyone to take over..."

"I have received your purpose, please tell King Roland! If the orcs from Mordor come, I will lead my army to support them! Please light the beacon to show us the direction!" Thranduil's eyes flashed with hatred.

"No! Your Highness the Elf King, I think you have to understand one thing. Once the army of Mordor arrives, the orcs of Gunbadal will surely come out in full force! The northern defense line needs you to stabilize it!" Caslo looked at Thranduil solemnly.
