Chapter 6: Bree

After a round of hacking and killing, the remaining orcs crawled into the woods. Seeing this, Roland decisively stopped chasing them. He gathered his knights and took everyone with him to continue on their journey.

"Encounter: Completed. Reward: 1 Lagran Royal Guard Paladin. Available for summoning at any time."

"Wow!" Roland was so excited that he almost called out the name of some mysterious plant.

The Royal Paladins of Raglan are one of the most impressive classes in the Lord of the Rings game. However, it's only the Third Age, and the in-game Royal Paladins of Raglan didn't appear until the Fifth Age. Their numbers are second only to superclasses like the Dragon Knights. They barely form a Knightly Order, but in reality, they've never even reached the minimum of a hundred men. At their peak, they numbered only 87, and after the Battle of the Rapids, their numbers fell to fewer than 50, nearly disbanding. This legion is most famous for its attribute—holy! The entire order is composed entirely of true Paladins, not the Knights of Light who impersonate Paladins like the Vatican Knights. Furthermore, their knights are of extremely high quality. The knights collectively referred to as the Royal Paladins of Raglan are actually mostly Grand Knights, with a small number even being Paladin-Masters. Their leader, Larus, is a divine hero. Secondly, the equipment of this legion is outrageously luxurious. They are covered in full body dragon armor forged with dragon blood holy steel (fine steel tempered with the dragon blood of a sacred dragon), dragon-patterned swords, dragon spears and dragon shields, as well as dragon bows that use the main tendons of a dragon as strings and the bow arms are polished with the arm bones of a dragon... You can only see the same equipment on dragon knights. Even elite air knights such as Pegasus Knights and Griffin Knights cannot compare to him, hence the famous saying that dragon knights dominate the sky and paladins rule the earth.

Now Roland actually had a Lagrang Royal Guard Paladin at his disposal. He was so moved he was practically crying. He even suspected the Lord of the Rings system was using his lifespan for a lottery… Strictly speaking, the number of Lagrang Royal Guard Paladins was actually even smaller than that of Dragon Knights. Remember, when Roland logged into the Lord of the Rings, many great lords had Dragon Knights under their command, and there were even Dragon Knights who could form a Knight Order (the organization of a Dragon Knight Order was different from that of an ordinary Knight Order; a Dragon Knight Order consisted of only 50 people, because Dragon Knights were so rare that to gather 100, you would have to recruit Dragon Knights from all over the continent). So many players wanted to recruit (lure) or abduct a member of the Lagrang Royal Guard Paladin, but few succeeded…

Roland resisted the urge to summon the Paladin out now to admire his might, and could only control his temper and continue marching.

"We're almost at Bree, let's take a break." Roland looked at the map and said to Gandalf and Thorin.

"That's good. We can go and restock our supplies. There won't be many places to restock them in the future," Thorin said.

"Master Baggins! We can stay in an inn tonight. You can sleep on a soft bed instead of on the ground." Roland rode his horse to Bilber who was riding a pony and teased him.

"Oh, really? That's great. You don't know how rough the ground is when you sleep in a tent!" Bilbo complained.

"Hahaha, you should thank old man Gandalf for pulling you out of the Warm Bag Bottom." Roland said with a smile.

"Oh my God! I was really possessed by the devil. Why did I agree to take risks with you..." Bilber complained.

"That's because you have a restless heart!" Gandalf suddenly said.

"Hahaha, the wizard is right!" Roland laughed.

Roland is now very much looking forward to the Royal Paladin of Raglan waiting for him in Bree. Roland just chose to summon, and the system has very considerately set that the knight will be waiting for him in Bree. Wait, a knight waiting for him in Bree?

"Oh my god! I hope it's not Aragorn, he's the protagonist of The Lord of the Rings..." Roland was suddenly shocked.

While thinking, Roland saw the outline of the town of Bree.

"Okay guys, we can enjoy ourselves!"

"Sir, this is Reno, the Paladin of the Royal Guard of Lagran!" A tall, handsome man with silver hair, about thirty years old, came up to Roland in a loud voice.

Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Roland was now filled with a huge black question mark in his heart. The Lagran Royal Guard Paladin was great, but forget about Master Lei... This Knight Commander couldn't even control himself.

In the Lord of the Rings games, Raynor is known as Lord Ray. The fall of the Raglan Empire and the decimation of the Raglan Royal Guards are directly linked to Raynor. Raynor single-handedly dominated the entire northern map's storyline and quests, single-handedly leading the battles there and causing the northern orcs to migrate south, leading directly to the collapse of the Raglan Empire. However, his glory on the battlefield is remembered, earning him the nickname "The Dawn of the North."

"What the hell, how did this trouble-making guy with maxed-out skills end up under my command? Can we talk to the system about replacing him..." Roland wailed in his heart.

"Welcome, brave Paladin! Welcome to join us." Roland forced a smile to welcome the knight who had come to him.

"I hope his ability to stir up trouble hasn't been brought here... Otherwise, the Battle of Five Armies would simply add a few more enemy forces. That would be too dramatic." Roland thought of the enemy reinforcement buff that this guy had.

"Renault, can you still release your divine dominance aura?" Roland suddenly remembered the most important thing.

"Of course, my lord! I can release you now if you need me." Renault said respectfully.

"That's good," Roland breathed a sigh of relief. If the system had canceled the Holy Aura of the Lagran Royal Guard Paladin, Roland would have really needed to find a return window. The Holy Aura of a Paladin is a valuable asset. It increases the resistance, stamina, morale, and vitality of allies within a certain range, and can also blend Holy attacks into attacks. As a leading Paladin, Lei Ye's aura can reach allies within a 500-meter radius. In the Lord of the Rings world, which lacks group-effect magic, the Holy Aura is a valuable asset. Used well, it can at least double your combat power.

"Lei... Nuo!" Roland was so excited that he almost called him Master Lei.

"Sir!" Renault stepped forward immediately.

"Caslo and the Badaniyan archers will be responsible for protecting me, and the knights will be handed over to you to command." Roland waved his hand, and the knights were thrown to Renault. After all, for Master Lei who commanded millions of player troops in the game, commanding a mere knight group of a hundred people was simply a piece of cake. Roland himself did not have the commander buff, and Caslo was a dragon knight and had no experience in commanding ground knights. Renault, who had the halo skill, was simply Roland's beacon in the dark, which was both convenient and useful.

"Okay, my lord. May the glory of Lagran shine on you and me." Renault said humbly.
