Chapter 74: blade dance

The rangers' scimitars spun from front to back, emitting a dazzling radiance. This was the prelude to the ranger's core skill—Blade Dance. The dazzling radiance instantly illuminated the somewhat dim sky! The orcs' terrified faces were clearly visible on the blades, reflecting the sunlight.

"Plop plop~" More than a hundred corpses fell straight from the sky. They were the orcs who had just climbed onto the top of the city wall.

"ah!"

"Uh~"

"Woo..."

The orcs' miserable screams before their death echoed on the city walls. Their corpses dropped like dumplings, which dealt a heavy blow to the morale of the orc army. Even the offensive against the city was slowed down.

"Damn it! These cowardly elves! They are hiding in the city like pitiful creatures!" Azog roared angrily. Obviously, the elves' will to resist was beyond his imagination, and he was moved by the elves' resilience.

After all, they were the elves who had fought in the War of the Last Alliance. The glory of their ancestors was etched in their hearts, and their once-cooled blood was rekindled. They were the warriors who had faced the Black Gate! They were the warriors who had bravely stormed Mordor! They were the Star Elves of Thingrid! They were the children of the stars!

"Why haven't they run out of energy yet?" Azog looked at the elven rangers on the city wall, who were as energetic as harvesters, clearing out the orcs that appeared like whack-a-mole. The only difference from whack-a-mole was that they were using knives to cut...

If Roland were here, he would have scoffed at Azog. Having never dealt with an elven army, Azog certainly didn't understand the elves' dirty tricks. (During the First Battle of Lonely Mountain, the woodland elves hadn't had time to climb the walls when they entered Dale, so Azog was lucky enough not to witness the elves' dirty tricks.)

Once the elven army has formed its formation, their attack pattern becomes fixed. They'll first use a hail of long-range arrows to wear you down. If the elves become exhausted or the enemy approaches, their spearmen and rangers will quickly fill in for the frontline melee. But be warned! Exhaustion doesn't mean depleted of battle qi or magicka! Often, rangers and druids may be completely exhausted from their attacks, but their battle qi and magicka are still largely full... If you think they're fish on the chopping block... then you'll be rewarded with a dazzling Elven Blade Dance or a Druid Transformation spell, as these skills don't require physical energy to activate. Therefore, this simple yet incredibly effective tactic of the elves.

Roland had been playing the game for so long, but he had never seen anyone who could get away with a well-prepared elven battle formation, unless your Knights or Sky Knights could crush them, but Azog clearly didn't...

Watching the scimitars, adorned with brilliant battle aura, dance across the flesh of the Orc soldiers, Azog's heart was bleeding! The first batch of Orcs who came up were truly second-level Orc warriors! They were chopped down by their blades like cutting vegetables and melons...

"Let the cannon fodder consume them!" Azog ordered. He couldn't afford the demise of so many professionals! This would reduce his dominance and deterrence.

So the elite Orc professionals retreated, and the ordinary Orc cannon fodder surged forward...

"Tsk! They've gotten smarter!" Iovia's face changed. You know, killing a professional is a one-size-fits-all strategy, and killing an ordinary orc is also a one-size-fits-all strategy. The cost of the two is almost the same, but the elves are clearly losing out! Precious battle energy can only be wasted on ordinary orc scum.

"Hoohoo~" The ogre carrying the battering ram strode towards the city gate.

"Shoot it!" The elf archers who were resting in the back jumped up as if they were injected with chicken blood after seeing these moving meat mountains. They had just recovered some strength and drew their bows without saying a word!

"Boom!" More than a dozen heavy bodies crashed onto the ground a few hundred meters away from the city gate, leaving deep scratches. The ogres, targeted by hundreds of bows, instantly turned into big hedgehogs.

"Use the catapult!" Azog waved his hand and launched another move.

"Boom!" Dozens of ogres carrying small catapults slammed their fists into the ground and stopped a thousand meters away from the city of Losenniel. Several orcs behind them immediately began to load stone bombs.

"Idiot!" Iovia's mouth twitched. How much did he look down on the elven archer's attack range? If Azog wasn't embarrassed, Iovia felt embarrassed for him.

Without Iovia's command, the sharp-eyed archers noticed the targets that remained motionless...

"Explosive Arrows! Fire!" Under the command of the team leaders, a wave of arrows containing skills rained down on them. After firing their arrows, the elf archers didn't even have the desire to fire a follow-up round of arrows...

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" The sound of arrows exploding after piercing flesh continued to echo. When everything died down, only the remaining large feet in the place told of the place where a group of ogres once stood...

"Roar!" Azog was helpless and furious!

Alas! Poor Orc King, does he think everyone is Dale? Can those archers under Bard compare to the elves? Who gave you the confidence to stand before the elves as a target...

"Surround them!" Azog finally got really angry! He no longer wanted to consider whether that damned knight group would suddenly appear, because he had just received a piece of news...

"Woo~Woo~Woo~!" The unique horn of the orcs came from the west!

"What the hell!" Bai Yi, who was fighting with the orcs who were restraining the human soldiers, felt a chill in his heart when he saw the black tide and orc totems appearing on the western horizon.

"Dragon God!" Kaslo, who was dodging the attacks of the dragon-hunting crossbows on the ground and constantly restraining the orcs, looked at the rolling torrent of orcs in the air and suddenly his hands and feet turned cold!

"Have all the woodland elves died? How did they protect the West?" Iovia, who also heard the noise, cursed as she looked at the black tide in the distance.

After more than a month, the Gangbada Orc army successfully bypassed the Woodland Kingdom and arrived at the heart of the battlefield.

All the orcs stopped attacking and retreated to a safe area in an orderly manner. Watching them slowly spread out in a semicircle around the city of Losenniel, Iovia, White Wing, and everyone on the city wall felt a shadow in their hearts.

Why didn't Azog initially lay siege to the city? Because it feared Roland's Holy Knights. It had always believed they were hiding within the city, poised to strike a fatal blow at any moment. With only 20,000 soldiers, Azog simply didn't dare to lay siege. But the arrival of Borg's army changed the equation! Azog now had the confidence to fight the Knights.

"Destroy them! Tear them apart! The era of orcs is about to come!" Azog shouted madly, dancing with a broken arm and roaring excitedly.

After crossing the frozen Rapid River, Roland led his Rapid Legion and Holy Knights to the west bank of the Rapid River. At this moment, they were behind a hill with an altitude of several dozen meters. They also heard the movement just now. The calm Lance immediately persuaded Roland to stop marching. The group climbed up the hill to check. Because of the thickness of the ice on the river, they walked more than ten kilometers north to cross the river. The ice there was thicker, allowing heavily loaded war horses to trample on it. So from their perspective, they just saw the army of orcs pouring in from the west.

"...Fuck, the Woodland Kingdom is gone?" Roland finally blurted out after holding it in for a long time.

"The biggest joke of the year... a dwarf becomes a prophet..." Roland said in shock. He suddenly recalled what Thorin had said to him... He didn't trust the woodland elves...

"It seems that the orcs have really broken through the defense line of the woodland elves! I hope it's not what I thought...the elves are just watching from the sidelines..." Roland's face was heavy.

"Your Highness..." Lance hesitated to speak.

"Let's retreat..." Renault, who adheres to the spirit of chivalry, actually took the lead in proposing retreat.

"We can't put you in danger..." Radil said seriously.

This battle was different from the first Battle of Lonely Mountain. The disparity in strength made Raynor unable to even think of resisting. This was no longer a matter of abandoning his allies! This was a matter of himself being unable to protect himself!

"Man...is this what you call easy?" Vanerwei, who had excellent eyesight, clearly saw those well-equipped Orc warriors.

"No! We still have a chance!" Roland rejected everyone's suggestion.

"Don't forget! The Star Elves have Dragon Knights, and Dragon Knights represent... at least one forbidden spell!" Roland smiled.

Everyone's expressions immediately brightened. That's right! Dragon Rider! He's known as the walking nuclear bomb of Middle-earth, along with the Sage. If these orcs were positioned closer together, a single forbidden spell could wipe them out...

"Ang!" A clear and passionate dragon roar resounded through the sky! A magnificent blue dragon, gleaming with starlight, roared into the sky from the city!

Iovia no longer dared to hide. They were just having fun, but this Azog had no moral composure! He actually doubled up on the players! He flipped the cards at the first sign of disagreement! So don't blame us for showing our hand too.
