Chapter 11: Arrangement for the youngest son

It was past eleven in the morning when Zhang Hong, dressed in a white lab coat, arrived at the Hospital room.

“Grandpa Zhang.”

“Grandpa Zhang.”

Dabao and Xiaobao were being read a comic book by their grandma, and when they looked up and saw the familiar doctor grandpa, they both grinned their little mouths and greeted him in their childish voices.

“Alright, alright, Dabao, Xiaobao, Grandpa Zhang is here to see you.

Are you still feeling uncomfortable anywhere?!”

Zhang Hong had no immunity to the two adorable little ones; his own grandchildren were not by his side, and only he and his wife were left at home.

He particularly liked these two little ones from Xiao Ru’s family.

Indeed, even his speaking voice had consciously softened a lot.

“Not uncomfortable anymore.”

“Grandpa, we’re fine.”

The two little ones smiled, shaking their adorable little heads, and told the doctor grandpa in their childish voices.

They weren't afraid of taking medicine or getting injections; they were truly better and didn't feel uncomfortable at all now.

“Good, good, good, it’s good that you’re better.

After going home, rest well and sleep more.

Don’t be picky eaters, wear more clothes, make sure to wear your little socks, and if you’re cold or hungry, tell your grandparents, mom, and dad, understood?!”

Zhang Hong admonished them while reaching out to touch their smooth little foreheads, then listened to their heart and lungs, nodding in satisfaction.

“We know.”

“We’re obedient.”

The two little ones nodded vigorously, being well-behaved and sensible, cooperating perfectly with Grandpa Zhang’s work, not afraid or noisy at all.

This made Zhang Hong like them even more; he wished he had such adorable little grandchildren.

He rummaged through his pockets but found nothing but cotton swabs and a handkerchief.

“Good.”

Embarrassed, having nothing good to give the two little ones, Zhang Hong felt a bit uneasy.

Qiao Jiuru also looked at her two adorable, sensible, and clever little grandsons, remembering how they had fallen ill and passed away at such a young age in her previous life.

When they left, they were thin and small, poorly fed and clothed, and hadn't even had a full meal before they were gone.

Her eyes couldn't help but turn red, and her heart felt as if it had been tightly clenched, aching so much she could barely breathe.

“Xiao Ru, Xiao Ru, what’s wrong with you?!”

“Are you feeling unwell somewhere?!”

After admiring the two adorable children, Zhang Hong turned his head to tell Qiao Jiuru the news he had just received, but then he discovered that her face was not only pale and unsightly, but she was also shedding tears profusely, which immediately startled him.

Qiao Jiuru waved her hand, opening her mouth to say she was fine, but she was so distressed that she could only whimper, unable to make a sound.

Dabao and Xiaobao, seeing their grandma, who was always so good to them, crying, were immediately frightened.

Their little mouths puckered, and they also cried as they crawled towards Qiao Jiuru, their two small hands tightly grasping their grandma.

At this moment, not only did Zhang Hong, who was standing by, feel distressed, but even Qiao Jiuru, who had been momentarily immersed in past heartache, was instantly startled awake by the children’s crying.

“Dabao, Xiaobao, don’t cry.

It’s grandma’s fault.

Grandma won’t cry, so you don’t cry either.”

She quickly wiped away the tears that had unconsciously covered her face, rushing to comfort the two children.

Fortunately, when she stopped crying, the children also stopped.

“Xiao Ru, what’s wrong?!”

“No matter what happens, we’re here for you.”

Zhang Hong breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that both the adult and the two children had stopped crying, and he decided he must go to the Su family that evening.

“Zhang Dage, I’m fine.”

This was not a good place to talk, Qiao Jiuru shook her head at Zhang Hong, then glanced out the door, and said.

Zhang Hong immediately understood.

“Xiao Ru, Xiao Feng’s unit has been arranged.

There are two places: a nearby unit in Yi Province, and an island.

Once decided, he can leave at any time.”

His old friends, including Qiao Yin, were also very helpful.

After he made the call, they called back shortly after.

Hearing that they wanted to arrange a Hospital for Su Feng to join the unit, it didn’t even take two hours to arrange two locations.

So, he personally came to tell Qiao Jiuru this good news.

“Zhang Dage, Xiao Feng should still go to the island.

The environment there is simple, and it’s far from the shore, so my husband and I won’t have any worries.”

Qiao Jiuru didn’t even think twice before choosing the island Hospital for her youngest son.

Without any major issues, it’s not easy to leave the island.

Moreover, although supplies on the island are not abundant, there are seafood everywhere, so the problem of eating enough is not big.

Zhang Hong understood immediately.

This meant she didn't want Xiao Feng to know about their trouble and rush over to find them, thereby restricting his movements and ensuring his safety.

It seemed that someone was indeed targeting the Su family.

“Then I’ll call them in a bit and have them issue the employment notice immediately so Xiao Feng can report as soon as possible.”

Zhang Hong had always been decisive in his actions, especially after figuring things out; his execution was even more impressive, as if he couldn’t wait to send that boy Su Feng away immediately.

“Okay, thank you, Zhang Dage.”

In front of Zhang Hong, Qiao Jiuru visibly and obviously sighed in relief, her body relaxing.

“No trouble.”

Zhang Hong waved his hand; there was no time to lose.

He had to go back to his office and call those old guys to urge them for the notice.
