Chapter 157: The Great Compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva
Okamiyama Shrine is a place that is highly praised by many Japanese and is revered as a sacred mountain.
An Akita dog that is difficult for ordinary people to see keeps running back and forth along the mountain path.
Finally, the person I was waiting for showed up. He walked in front of the mountain trail with a proud look on his face, introducing everything about the mountain.
Hiramiya Chiye listened quietly to Inugami's introduction, finding it very interesting.
Before becoming a god, Inugami was an Akita dog that lived on Mount Daigami.
It was raised by a chief priest of Ogamiyama Shrine more than a hundred years ago.
At that time, the old man was not yet the chief priest of the shrine, nor was he old, he was just an ordinary young priest.
Every day he takes the dog god into the depths of Mount Daishin to play and frolic, and occasionally hunts wild boars in the mountains.
By chance, some rare treasure seemed to be born in the depths of Dashen Mountain, and many animals in the mountains gathered there.
It was at that time that the Inugami swallowed that thing, and since then he has become more intelligent and no longer looks old.
In the end, it was the Inugami who sent away the young priest who had accompanied him for most of his life.
About thirty years ago, Inugami, who lived for more than a hundred years, finally died of old age. After his death, he was named Inugami by the Ogamiyama Shrine.
Live a second life again.
At that time, a master passed by the Ogamiyama Shrine and felt sorry for what happened to the Inugami.
Frankly speaking: If Inugami could practice hard at that time, he would not have died of old age, but would have become a real great monster.
The Inugami didn't care about this. At that time, he was just an Akita dog that could think a little bit, and his playful nature took over.
Practice?
This kind of boring life is not rare at all.
Anyway, it lived to be over a hundred years old, which is a first in the dog world and can be called a legend among dogs. There is really nothing to regret.
Sixteen years ago, it met Iori Miyaji, who was as skilled in kendo as its original owner.
Then the man and the dog began a long and entangled evil relationship.
These are the original words of Iori Miyaji.
Hiramiya Chiya followed Inugami up the mountain path and arrived at Ogamiyama Shrine.
Iori Miyaji had already been waiting outside. When he saw Hiramiya Chiye arriving, his joy was beyond words and he pulled Hiramiya Chiye inside.
At the innermost part of the Daigamiyama Shrine is a flying stone that is one story high, covers an area of more than ten square meters, and has a slight depression in the middle.
It is said to have come from outer space.
People at that time regarded it as a good omen and began to worship it as a god.
More than a hundred years later, a shrine was built with the flying stone as its center.
At this moment, special straw ropes are used around the Flying Stone, and four red wooden poles are erected to surround the Flying Stone.
This is a barrier with spiritual power that is centered on the Flying Stone.
The body of Iori Miyaji's daughter was curled up, sleeping peacefully in the belly of the Flying Stone.
She looked to be about 16 years old, with long black hair, and was wearing a Chihaya dress, a white top and red hakama, and white tabi with red-buttoned straw sandals.
She clasped her hands together against the left side of her cheek and fell asleep peacefully.
Pinggong Qianye looked at her for a few times and found that her body remained in an almost constant state under the protection of the barrier.
But this state cannot last too long, probably only three years.
If the girl cannot regain consciousness during this period, her body will gradually die and it will be irreversible.
This barrier is very worthy of reference and learning.
Pinggong Qianye walked around the barrier several times and understood the layout and function of the entire barrier clearly.
If he wanted, he could also set up a similar barrier in his own temple to maintain the immortality of his body.
This is a very practical enchantment.
For example, it can be used as a refrigerator, and food placed in it should be able to be preserved for a long time.
After observing the barrier, Pinggong Qianye's gaze fell on the flying stone and his Vajra Eyes opened.
I saw streams of white spiritual energy like mist converging from all areas of the Great God Mountain and pouring into the flying stone.
This should be the result of the arrangements made by successive priests of Ogamiyama Shrine.
He wanted to use the spiritual energy of the entire Great Divine Mountain to nourish this flying stone.
Will a Sun Wukong appear?
Pinggong Qianye couldn't help but look at it a few more times and sighed in his heart.
It is very difficult for this flying stone to give birth to a life.
At least a few hundred years is obviously not enough.
Its symbolic meaning far outweighs the possibility of its birth. At this moment, it is more like a vessel that contains the spiritual energy of the entire Great God Mountain, and the spiritual energy gathers in its body.
It can be borrowed by the priests of the local shrine.
Iori Miyaji's strength in this area can definitely be increased several times.
"Master Liansheng, what's the situation?" Iori Miyaji couldn't help but ask.
“Fortunately, this is a nice place.”
After saying this, Hiramiya Chiye asked Iori Miyaji to go downstairs and prepare some things.
He needed some help to allow the girl's soul to return to her body more smoothly.
He had helped Horii Yuji regain his soul before, but it was just a wisp of soul. He just needed to protect that wisp of soul and then stuff it into the body.
But the situation now is different, it can even be said to be somewhat dangerous.
The girl's soul and body are completely separated, and it has been more than a year. In addition, the spiritual energy here is abundant, which is the condition for the body to be reborn.
That is the zombies that often appear in movies.
Fortunately, this is a shrine, and evil forces are difficult to generate and survive.
But it is still possible to give birth to a pure consciousness like a baby.
Iori Miyaji must have noticed this, so he placed something similar to a requiem charm on the girl's body.
Ensure that the body does not regenerate new consciousness.
About an hour later, Iori Miyaji finally prepared everything that Hiramiya Chiya needed.
There are three main items: a freshly picked lotus, a willow branch, and nectar in a jade bottle.
When Buddhism mentions great compassion, the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara is always mentioned.
Pinggong Qianye knew of many methods to bring back souls, but the most compassionate, peaceful, and harmless method was that of the Great Compassionate Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
For countless kalpas, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has accomplished the Dharma of great compassion and great mercy to benefit all living beings. He serves as a boat or raft in the ocean of suffering of life and death, and as a bright lamp in the long night of ignorance.
Constantly observe the sound of sentient beings chanting the holy name, and all suffering will be relieved and all happiness will be given to them.
His mercy benefits all living beings.
Hiramiya Chiye only left Iori Miyaji and Inugami, and asked everyone else present to leave so as not to disturb the peace.
When the girl's soul leaves the wooden box, it is her most vulnerable moment, and any sound may affect the state of her soul.
It’s better to clear the area directly.
As for leaving Iori Miyaji behind, he will be needed as a relative to wake up his daughter when her soul enters her body later.
"Are you ready?"
Hiramiya Chiye glanced at Iori Miyaji who was holding a lotus in his left hand and a jade bottle in his right hand.
Iori Miyaji took a few deep breaths and nodded heavily.
The Inugami next to him also held his breath and concentrated, even covering his mouth with his paws to prevent himself from accidentally making any noise.
Pinggong Qianye placed the girl in the box on the ground and sat cross-legged facing the girl in the flying stone.
Close your eyes and begin to silently visualize Cundi Guanyin.
When Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is saving sentient beings in the six realms, he has six different incarnations, collectively known as the Six Avalokitesvaras.
Different Buddhist sects have different views on the images of the Six Guanyins.
For example, the six Guanyins of Tiantai Sect are: Great Compassion Guanyin, Great Compassion Guanyin, Lion Fearless Guanyin, Great Light Illuminating Guanyin, Heavenly Man Guanyin, and Great Brahma Deep and Profound Guanyin.
In Shingon Buddhism, the Six Guanyin are different.
The Shingon sect calls the six kinds of Guanyin the saviors of the six realms.
Holy Avalokitesvara: The Lord saves the hungry ghosts;
Thousand-armed Guanyin: Mainly saves the sentient beings in hell;
Horse-Headed Avalokitesvara: Mainly saves sentient beings in the animal realm;
Eleven-faced Avalokitesvara: Mainly saves the beings in the Asura realm;
Cundi Guanyin: Mainly saves sentient beings in the human world;
Ruyilun Guanyin: Lord saves all beings in heaven.
The girl's situation was that of a human being, so she was saved by Cundi Guanyin.
Pinggong Qianye was accustomed to visualizing Vairocana Tathagata, but he had never really visualized Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
That is why lotus, willow branches and nectar are prepared as assistance.
But he knew clearly about the image of Cundi Guanyin, it just took a little time to visualize it.
This is not a difficult task. Guanyin Bodhisattva is compassionate and merciful. As long as you pray to Him sincerely, you can easily get the corresponding help.
He is very tolerant of the world and almost always grants whatever they ask for.
When a statue of Cundi Guanyin appeared behind Pinggong Qianye, a breath like spring breeze filled the surroundings.
Hiramiya Chiye raised his left hand slightly, summoned the lotus from Iori Miyaji's hand, and with his right hand, smashed the box that trapped the girl and led the girl's soul out.
As soon as the girl's soul appeared, a lotus floated in the air and took the girl's soul into it.
In order to prevent the girl's soul from being contaminated by the outside world and becoming less clean and pure.
The girl's soul manifested in the lotus, looking ignorant and confused.
Heimiya Chiye then summoned the jade bottle from Iori Miyaji's hand, held a willow branch in his right hand, dipped it in nectar, and sprinkled it on the lotus.
The nectar moistened the lotus, trying to awaken the girl's consciousness.
The girl's soul was soaked in nectar, and seemed to be shrouded in a layer of hazy and crystal light.
When the girl's consciousness gradually regained consciousness and her confusion and ignorance disappeared, Pinggong Qianye shouted, "Go."
The lotus containing the girl's soul flew in front of the girl and imprinted on the center of her eyebrows.
The girl's soul followed the veins of the lotus, like a drop of rain, and seeped into the center of the body's eyebrows.
So far, everything is going well.
Pinggong Qianye breathed a sigh of relief.
It’s not that his magical powers are so profound, but that Guanyin Bodhisattva has always been compassionate and merciful, saving people from suffering.
It is the Bodhisattva's compassion that saves people, not his magical powers.
After waiting for a while, seeing that the girl's soul was moving, Hiramiya Chiye asked Iori Miyaji to come and call her soul back.
This step is indispensable in many methods of bringing back the soul.
In some rural areas, if the soul of a child is lost, people will carry a lantern with the child's birth date and go to the place near the lost soul of the child to call out to the soul.
What Hiramiya Chiye didn't expect was that Iori Miyaji's repeated cries of "Come back, my dear daughter" did not wake the girl up.
Instead, it caused the girl's soul to fall into silence.
