Chapter 47: The Great Sage’s Joyful Offering
The cold wind was howling.
It is clearly summer and I am indoors, but I just have this strange feeling.

"The Great Sage's Joyful Offering Method".
At night, Pinggong Qianye sat at the desk and opened the scripture he got from the old mountain boy and began to study it in the true sense.
The Laughing Buddha is the main deity of Tibetan Tantric Buddhism.
He represents the joy of the union of the male body, which symbolizes the Dharma, and the female body, which represents wisdom.
Its main purpose is to generate enlightenment through the dual practice of emptiness and bliss and achieve the fundamental goal of controlling desire with desire.
To explain it in simple terms, it is similar to the sage time that occurs after a man releases his desires.
During this sage time, people's various desires will be greatly reduced, their minds will be clear, and they will often have sudden realizations, like a wise sage.
This is why he is called a sage, although it is more of a joke. "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form, form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form."
The same sentence may have different understandings in the eyes of different Buddhist practitioners.
The union of emptiness and bliss of the Laughing Buddha is based on this Buddhist teaching.
To use the words from Buddhist scriptures, it is called "first arouse them with desire, then lead them to Buddha's wisdom", thus achieving the goal of controlling desire with desire.
Pinggong Qianye found it difficult to agree with such Buddhist theory, but also difficult to oppose it.
The Dharma is there, but each person sees it differently due to his or her own temperament and wisdom.
Some Dharmas are so grand and magnificent, and so compassionate, that many Buddhist practitioners follow them.
Some Dharmas are difficult to explain and contain great fear, so only a handful of practitioners are willing to practice them.
However, there is no obvious difference between these two methods. Having many believers does not mean it is correct, and having few believers does not mean it is wrong.
The so-called difference between high and low is just the crushing of the group with more believers over the group with fewer believers.
All roads lead to Rome, and perhaps the same is true for Buddhism.
Is there anyone in this world who can truly become a Buddha?
No.
Since there is not, it means that all sentient beings are still on the path of understanding the Dharma.
Who can prove that his path is correct and can definitely lead to the Western Paradise?
Moreover, Buddhism originated in India, and was spread to Tibet, China, and then to Japan. Due to the differences in their respective local cultures, there are always differences in many doctrines.
Pinggong Qianye was just flipping through the book "The Great Sage's Joyful Offering Method" with the mentality of a pure reader.
It mainly introduces a method of dual cultivation between men and women, which allows men and women to quickly improve each other's practice through sexual intercourse, and eventually reach the state of bliss and nirvana.
It's just that, although, Pinggong Qianye wanted to read this scripture as objectively as possible.
But some of the words in it, the creativity of Tibetan Tantric Buddhism in using vocabulary related to sexual intercourse between men and women, still left him dumbfounded.
The various and varied words make one have to sigh that the creativity of art is endless.
It also uses a deformed lotus and a deformed vajra as symbols.
The first colored illustration that Pinggong Qianye found was about the image of the Laughing Buddha.
This one is relatively normal, but the painted illustrations in the later ones start to become more and more wild and extravagant.
It took Pinggong Qianye about two hours to read the book "The Great Sage's Joyful Offering Method" from beginning to end.
If we exclude some of the bad aspects and just consider it as a method of practice, it is undoubtedly qualified.
It can even be foreseen that the speed of practicing this method will be very fast, especially in today's society.
Pinggong Qianye had no intention of practicing this method. He mainly studied the "Mahavairocana Sutra" and the "Vajrasekhara Sutra", and read other scriptures only for reference and to increase his wisdom and knowledge.
It can be given to Akechi Mitsuhide. He should like this method very much.
He always complained that he did not have enough talent for cultivation, so he could not see the true Dharma and could only sink and drift in the endless material desires.
Pinggong Qianye thought for half an hour, then took out a blank booklet and wrote on it the things to pay attention to when practicing "The Great Sage's Joyful Offering Method" and modified the unreasonable parts in it.
Akechi Mitsuhide was his friend, and he hoped that he could succeed in his practice, but he also didn't want him to go astray, so he deleted some of the more radical methods in the book and supplemented it with moderate and peaceful methods.
Probably the more you practice, the more abstinent you become.
It cannot be said to be abstinence, but it is to gradually see through and abandon desires in order to achieve a state of no desires.
