Chapter 8: Statue of unethical behavior

Luo Keke picked up the exam paper next to her. On the pristine A4 paper, there was a small red table.

Countdown: 2 minutes 59 seconds

“Time is pressing…”

Luo Keke frowned slightly. She carefully pondered the details of this exam, hoping to find some useful information from the broadcast and the few words on the paper.

However, half a minute passed, and Luo Keke still couldn't think of a good solution.

Watching the time tick by, Jiu Yuan started to panic a little.

“Student Keke, do you have any ideas?”

Luo Keke gently shook her head.

“I think you all should think more, instead of placing all your hopes on an underage person like me.”

Luo Keke said earnestly.

“Uh, that makes a lot of sense.”

Jiu Yuan nodded. He glanced at Luo Keke out of the corner of his eye and whispered, “She really is tiny.”

Luo Keke’s height was only about 1.4 meters, which indeed qualified as “tiny” among this group of prospective freshmen.

“Student Jiu Yuan, I think as an adult male, you don’t really have the right to call me tiny →_→”

Luo Keke retorted expressionlessly.

In fact, Jiu Yuan was also quite small. As a teenager who had just turned eighteen, Jiu Yuan’s height was only a little over 1.6 meters. He wore glasses and was refined, like a big boy.

“Uh…”

Jiu Yuan was choked by Luo Keke and couldn't speak.

“Student Luo Keke, I shouldn’t have disturbed your thinking, my apologies.”

A moment later, Jiu Yuan scratched his head and relented.

After all, his life was more important.

Luo Keke had performed very well in this short half-hour exam. She clearly looked like an old hand. Jiu Yuan had already made up his mind to cling to the loli’s thigh.

“It’s fine,” Luo Keke shook her head. “A little bickering actually cleared my mind quite a bit.”

Luo Keke rubbed her slightly sore shoulders and spread the exam paper flat on the ground.

“I have a method, but I can’t guarantee its success rate.” The loli pointed at the paper and said softly.

“Student Keke, please tell us.” Jiu Yuan said happily.

Luo Keke pointed at the demon statue and whispered, “The requirement given on the paper is for us to destroy this statue, right?”

“Since it’s destruction, then it should be physical destruction.”

Luo Keke paused, then added, “At least to make it lose its killing function.”

“I understand the principle,” Jiu Yuan whispered, “but how do we destroy it while enduring its petrifying gaze?”

“Well…”

Luo Keke’s gaze shifted to the red chair beside her.

“Do you remember what the broadcast said? Red objects will help us overcome danger.”

Luo Keke handed the chair to Jiu Yuan.

“So my idea is to use this red chair to smash that demon statue. Maybe it can stop it from functioning.”

Jiu Yuan suddenly understood. He said confidently, “Alright, leave it to me! I’ll go!”

“Hold on,” Luo Keke pulled Jiu Yuan back. The loli pointed at the demon statue and said, “Right now, that thing turns its head once every three seconds, and it will get faster later. Are you sure your small body can handle it?”

The red table Luo Keke was leaning against was already the foremost cover in the entire classroom, but even so, she was still about fifteen meters from the statue.

What they had to do was hold their breath while running that distance, and then accurately throw a chair weighing about ten catties onto the statue’s head.

This was a physical task, and Jiu Yuan’s frail Physique clearly couldn’t do it.

Jiu Yuan was stunned for a moment, then said somewhat awkwardly, “I guess I can’t.”

“Let’s find a student with more strength,” Luo Keke suggested.

Jiu Yuan nodded, then shouted loudly, “Students, we’ve thought of a way to destroy the statue, but we need a stronger student to act.”

After Jiu Yuan finished speaking, not a single person in the classroom responded to him.

Luo Keke sighed softly. Looking at the silent crowd, she was a little disappointed.

But people cherish their lives, and Luo Keke didn’t blame them.

Having witnessed their classmates being killed, it was perfectly normal for these survivors to be afraid to face the demon statue.

Jiu Yuan was silent for a moment, then said softly, “How about I do it? Maybe it will succeed?”

“We can’t let such a cute loli risk herself for us, can we?”

Jiu Yuan smiled, but the fear in his eyes was unconcealable.

This time, Luo Keke didn’t stop him again.

Just then, a voice rang out from the corner of the classroom.

“Wh-what’s the plan? I’ll give it a try.”

Luo Keke and Jiu Yuan looked over with delight, only to see a very muscular male hiding alone in the corner.

“Good brother, find a chance to come over and discuss!”

Jiu Yuan waved at the male.

The male nodded, then, taking advantage of the statue’s countdown, he quickly ran to their side.

“What’s your name?” Jiu Yuan asked.

“Just call me A Wei.”

The male replied in a muffled voice, “I used to be a sports student, but then I was transferred to the philosophy department.”

“Such an absurd transfer is possible?”

An Keke complained.

Luo Keke ignored An Keke’s complaint. She carefully explained her plan to A Wei… “I understand all the steps.” A Wei nodded and pressed, “Is there anything else to pay attention to?”

“Yes.”

Luo Keke hesitated for a moment, then confessed to A Wei, “This method is just my speculation, and I can’t guarantee it will be effective. Moreover, as the executor of the plan, you will bear a great risk.”

“You… might die.”

Luo Keke said softly.

“If I do it, I might die, but if I do nothing, then I will definitely die.”

A Wei chuckled, “I’m still willing to give it a shot.”

“Alright, good luck.” Luo Keke silently wished him well… A Wei held the red chair and slowly walked out of cover.

At this moment, the demon statue’s turning frequency had become once every two seconds, which was extremely fast.

Luo Keke and Jiu Yuan couldn’t help but worry for A Wei.

Fortunately, A Wei was strong and reacted quickly. Whenever the statue turned its head, he held his breath, and no matter how the statue stared, A Wei remained motionless.

And when the statue turned its head back to countdown, A Wei took two steps forward. His go ahead speed was very regular, and the demon statue couldn’t find any flaws.

In this way, A Wei only took half a minute to reach the statue without incident.

“Well done, A Wei! Now just throw the chair and hit the statue’s head!”

Jiu Yuan excitedly clenched his fist, as if he saw the dawn of victory.

A Wei took a deep breath, slowly raised the chair, and then slammed it fiercely into the demon statue.

With a “bang,” the red chair directly smashed onto the statue’s head.

A Wei’s strength was great; the chair fell apart the moment it hit, and red-painted wood chips flew everywhere.

However, to Luo Keke’s disappointment, the scene of the statue being smashed that she had imagined did not occur.

After a one-second pause, the demon statue began to countdown again, only this time, its countdown speed seemed to have slowed down.

“One…”

“Could it be… that brute force cannot destroy the statue?” Luo Keke thought to herself.

Seeing that the chair couldn't smash the statue, A Wei was also a little disappointed. He quickly retreated, intending to return to cover and re-discuss countermeasures with Luo Keke and Jiu Yuan.

“Two…”

The demon statue slowly counted down.

“But its countdown speed is so slow now, I should be able to run back in one go…”

A Wei thought silently.

However, just as A Wei was striding with all his might, intending to run back to cover in one breath, the demon statue suddenly turned its head… Yes, it didn’t count “3” before directly turning its head back.

“Wh-what?!”

A Wei saw the demon statue turning its head out of the corner of his eye.

He wanted to stop, but it was too late.

“Wooden man…”

The demon statue, abandoning its previous sluggishness, spoke quickly.

This lifeless statue, using the force of its turn, shook off the wood chips from its head. Its action seemed to be mocking A Wei.

“You… cheated, you don’t play fair…”

A Wei cursed inwardly, and he closed his eyes in despair.

He knew he was finished.

“Slap!”

At the critical moment, a fist-sized paper ball suddenly hit the demon statue’s eye, obstructing its vision for a moment.

It was Luo Keke; she had crumpled the exam paper into a ball, gaining precious time for A Wei at this crucial moment.

“I… I’m not dead yet?”

A Wei opened his eyes, covered in cold sweat, but he didn’t even dare to breathe heavily.

The demon statue was silent for a moment, then silently turned its head back and began to countdown again.

“Phew…”

A Wei sighed in relief. He saw the paper ball beneath the statue and knew that Luo Keke had saved him.

Without daring to hesitate further, A Wei quickly ran back behind cover, panting heavily.

“I failed… I’m sorry.” A Wei wiped the sweat from his head and said apologetically to Luo Keke and Jiu Yuan.

“It’s not your fault.” Jiu Yuan patted A Wei’s shoulder, comforting him.

Luo Keke didn’t speak. She silently stared at the ceiling.

A Wei hadn’t died, which was good news, but the plan had failed.

Time was ticking away. If Luo Keke couldn’t think of a solution, then she, the “former strongest Adventurer on Blue Star,” would really be done for here.

“Keke, have you forgotten your Five Styles of Killing God?”

Just then, An Keke suddenly spoke up to remind her.

“Five Styles of Killing God, yes…”

Luo Keke’s eyes lit up.
