Chapter 151: Feeling at Home
Liu Sheng opened her eyes, waking up from the scene transition as she was engrossed in high dimension analysis.
The room had no windows, and the cold white light from the overhead fluorescent tubes illuminated the entire space.
The first thing that caught her eye was an old television set placed high up, seemingly playing some melodramatic scene.
A man and a woman were sitting face to face, the atmosphere heavy.
“So you’re choosing her?” the woman asked.
The man didn’t answer. The camera shifted to under the table, showing his hand clenched tightly into a fist.
“Alright, I understand,” the woman’s eyes flashed with disappointment as she picked up her small handbag and turned to leave.
She didn’t see the man behind her, his hand weakly lifting as if trying to grasp something.
“So melodramatic.”
“I hope the male lead has a mouth.”
“Now isn’t the time to be watching TV, is it?”
Indeed, Liu Sheng picked up the remote control she had been holding and turned off the somewhat noisy television.
In her other hand was a large, half-eaten bag of potato chips.
She tossed the chips aside and tried to sit up.
But it was quite difficult.
Her large belly and flabby waist hindered this simple action.
Only then did she realize, extending her hands in front of her.
These short, thick fingers, with ten adorable dimples deeply indented on the back of her hands due to the chubby flesh.
Liu Sheng pinched her belly; it was very soft.
She touched her chest; although it was also soft, it was only the softness of flab.
She kept touching until her neck.
There was no neck, only layers of flesh.
Her cheeks drooped, her face was full of flesh, and her skin was greasy, as if she hadn’t washed her face in a long time.
On top of her head was coarse, stiff hair, probably only an inch long.
“I get it.”
“We’ve become that small shop owner…”
“But it doesn’t seem as exaggerated as him; it should be a miniature version of him.”
“Could it be that the protagonist of this high dimension analysis is him? His past?”
At this moment, the cold voice of the World echoed in the room.
“You, are twenty-two years old.”
“You’ve graduated, can’t find a job, and don’t want to find a job.”
“You stay at home every day watching soap operas and eating snacks.”
“Finally, one day, your parents got fed up with you.”
“Through your fourth aunt, who is the teaching director at Hongxing Elementary School, they arranged for you to take over a small shop at the school.”
“Your parents said: Since you don’t want to deal with adults, you can serve Elementary School.”
“So, your task is: to serve Elementary School.”
Liu Sheng blinked. Is this a new function of the World?
With the tian yan stone, the World is truly changing with each passing day!
“Yes, I can now basically deduce the method to break through high dimension analysis, but you still need to explore how to proceed in between.” the World replied.
“Alright, that’s already very useful!”
No longer did she have to rely purely on guessing, failing the analysis inexplicably, or completing it just as inexplicably.
Although Liu Sheng still didn’t understand how to serve Elementary School, she figured it meant running this small shop well, satisfying the Elementary School, and making them feel at home.
“Boss! Are you there!”
At this moment, the sound of children laughing came from outside the door.
The Elementary School have arrived!
Liu Sheng dared not delay, anxiously hurrying out to serve this customer.
However, this first step was already very difficult.
She barely managed to support herself with both hands, moved off the bed, and put on the slippers by the bedside.
She stood up shakily, almost losing her footing and falling back onto the bed.
How lazy was this body, after all!
Her limbs had no strength whatsoever!
Fortunately, Liu Sheng still had her Little Tentacle, which shot out in time to help Liu Sheng support her heavy body.
“Boss, are you not here? Then I’ll just take it directly!” The childish voice carried a hint of mischief, still giggling, but it sent shivers down her spine.
Is this Elementary School a human?
Liu Sheng suddenly thought.
But she had to confirm.
Supported by her Little Tentacle, she dragged her body across the floor, making a wet, sticky sound as she moved outwards.
Another thin tentacle reached out, its small eye looking around.
“Boss, you’re so slow… I’m really going to steal something now! Hehehe!” The annoying, mischievous laughter somehow irritated Liu Sheng.
But her small eye, crawling between the shelves, didn’t see the Elementary School who kept urging her.
“Coming, coming,” Liu Sheng replied, carefully using a tentacle to lift the bead curtain.
She didn’t need to go any further.
Liu Sheng recalled that the small shop owner only ever crawled behind the glass counter by the door at most.
She still didn’t know what the specific rules were, but she kept it in mind, thinking it was worth learning from.
So she plopped down onto a plastic chair behind the counter, and the chair groaned painfully under the unbearable weight.
Later, she never saw such a plastic chair in the small shop again; it probably died an early death from being overloaded.
“If you’ve chosen, bring it over for payment,” Liu Sheng said, following the owner’s practice.
“Boss, can’t you come over?” The Elementary School’s voice held a hint of grievance.
Her small eye was still scanning everywhere; the small shop wasn’t big, yet he still couldn’t be found.
“If you don’t come over, I’ll complain about you!”
Rows of shelves had been looked at again and again, but there was still no one!
However, his voice was clearly coming from inside.
“How will you complain about me?” Liu Sheng continued to converse, letting her Little Tentacle follow the voice.
“Hehe, I’ll tell the principal you sell uncertified products and made me get diarrhea.”
That voice seemed to be coming from the main door.
Her Little Tentacle extended out the main door, but outside, it was still empty.
She tried to stretch a little further, but felt an invisible obstruction.
“Is this high dimension analysis only this scene?”
“Yes,” the World replied, “After purification, only that much remained.”
So this scene only contained the tables and chairs and the freezer outside the door, then the small shop and her room inside the door.
“All my goods are sourced through legitimate channels.” Although Liu Sheng disliked this child very much, she suppressed her anger, adhering to her professional duty of “serving” Elementary School.
Besides, she still hadn’t found him.
“Hehehehehe, are you looking for me?” The Elementary School suddenly said.
Liu Sheng’s heart tightened.
“If you can’t see me, does that mean I can keep stealing food?”
Upon hearing this, Liu Sheng’s internal alarm bells suddenly blared. This was her instinctive warning as a cultivator to the impending crisis.
“If you steal something, I’ll tell your Class Teacher, and I’ll tell the teaching director,” Liu Sheng threatened sternly.
“Boss, you’re so mean.” The Elementary School’s voice was muffled, but his tone was cheerful, “Too bad you can’t see me, hehe.”
“I see you!” Liu Sheng suddenly said sharply.
“Lying is wrong, just like stealing.”
“How do you know I’m lying?”
“Because… you’re still sitting…”
The Elementary School’s voice became more and more muffled, as if he was trapped inside something.
