Chapter 223: Horses attacked

After everyone had a good drink, they prepared to discuss the details of how to give Liu Jin a painful lesson.

Many believed that they should first show off their strength, send cavalry to charge, and scare General Zhenbei Liu Jin into pissing his pants and rolling back to Yanmen, telling him not to be so arrogant in the Northwest.

The many leaders all looked up and laughed heartily, appearing very confident, as they had enough cavalry to definitely hold a natural advantage.

Suddenly, there were hurried footsteps from outside.

Seeing this, Feng Hu frowned, and a sinister expression instantly appeared on his face. Someone dared to be so reckless while he was discussing important matters.

A bandit, with a panicked look on his face and cold sweat pouring down his forehead, knelt on the ground with a thud and said in a trembling voice!

"Chief, something bad has happened!"

"Our horse breeding ground has been taken by the Han Army cavalry!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the many leaders sitting around instantly froze. The heated discussion immediately quieted, and a buzzing sound filled everyone's heads.

They seemed to find it hard to believe; how could a perfectly fine horse breeding ground be taken?

Feng Hu, at the head seat, was the first to recover. His eyes instantly turned bloodshot, and his body trembled as he shouted in a cold voice!

"Impossible, absolutely impossible!"

"The horse breeding ground is so secretive, how could it have been taken by the Han Army cavalry?"

Many leaders trembled uncontrollably. The horses in the breeding ground were their true foundation and the basis for their dominance in the Northwest.

If they lost them, how could they still roam the Northwest? Wouldn't they be forced to stay in the mountains and become mere bandits?

The bandit kneeling on the ground, facing so many fierce gazes, inwardly cursed his misfortune and kept saying in a trembling voice!

"Chief, everything this subordinate says is true. The horse breeding ground has indeed been occupied by the Han Army. This humble one was lucky to escape and return."

After hearing this, Feng Hu's body began to tremble, and a fierce, murderous aura continuously surged from him.

His teeth ground together with a clattering sound, like a tiger choosing its prey, and the killing intent in his heart instantly erupted.

Drawing the sharp blade from his waist, which gleamed with a dazzling cold light, he quickly walked forward.

The bandit kneeling on the ground, seeing the flash of the blade, trembled. With a choked voice, he quickly kowtowed and begged for mercy!

"Ch-Chief, this subordinate is not lying. Everything I said is true!"

"Ah!"

A scream instantly rang out as the blade plunged directly into his abdomen, and blood gushed out.

After Feng Hu stabbed him once, the rage in his heart had not yet subsided.

He pulled out the crimson blade again and stabbed several more times, with thudding sounds.

Hot blood continuously splattered, covering his entire face and hands, making him look particularly terrifying.

And the bandit before him was already dead, beyond saving.

Feng Hu kicked the corpse to the ground, his fierce eyes sweeping around.

The leaders sitting on both sides swallowed, feeling a chill in their hearts as they watched this scene.

Then, a hoarse, cold voice came!

"This news is absolutely false. How could the Han Army find the horse breeding ground? This person is also a Han Army spy, deliberately trying to affect our morale."

Many leaders nodded upon hearing this, still holding onto a glimmer of hope that it was false news.

If they truly lost their cavalry advantage, they would not be qualified to oppose the Han Army at all.

One person in the crowd, after a moment of thought, suddenly spoke!

"Great Chief, I believe what the messenger said is entirely possible."

Upon hearing this, Feng Hu's eyes narrowed, and he instantly swept his gaze over. The killing intent in his heart involuntarily subsided a little.

This person was Xu Wu, whose strength was second only to his own in the entire Langxu Mountain.

If it were anyone else, he would have the right to kill them, but he could not casually dispose of this person, lest their troops riot, especially with a great enemy currently before them. Naturally, they had to unite to deal with the Han Army.

Enduring the anger in his heart, he asked!

"Chief Xu, what do you mean by that?"

Xu Wu did not hesitate and quickly said!

"Some time ago, Chief Sun Yi led his troops and left Langxu Mountain to 'beat the autumn wind' and plunder some provisions."

"It's been so long, and no news has come back. It's very likely that an accident occurred."

"And this accident likely involved encountering the Han Army, with his entire army annihilated and him personally captured. To save his life, he might have revealed all information about Langxu Mountain to the Han Army."

"After the Han Army learned this information, they naturally wouldn't miss the opportunity. So they led their cavalry to first eliminate our horse breeding ground, completely cutting off our legs."

"If I'm not mistaken, the Han Army has probably already arrived at the foot of Langxu Mountain and has completely blocked our routes out of the mountain."

His words spread throughout the hall, and the leaders sitting on both sides began to tremble, their eyes filled with fear and dread.

They hadn't expected the roads to be blocked, completely trapping them in Langxu Mountain. Wouldn't they become turtles in a jar?

Even Feng Hu was stunned, his eyes filled with both shock and disbelief. Could it really be such a coincidence?

Just then, footsteps sounded outside the hall. A small leader, in a panic, ran towards them.

His face was filled with fear and dread, and his voice came out before he even arrived!

"Chief, something bad has happened!"

"A large number of Han Army troops have appeared at the foot of Langxu Mountain, completely blocking the roads!"

The moment his voice fell, it shattered the last shred of illusion for everyone, seemingly the last straw that broke the camel's back.

Many leaders were filled with fear, their legs trembling. They no longer had their previous composure and were terrified that the Han Army would invade the mountain and eliminate them.

Feng Hu looked at the chaotic scene before him. If this continued, the Han Army wouldn't even need to attack; everyone would probably just kneel and surrender.

He swung the blood-stained blade in his hand through the air and shouted in a cold voice!

"Whoever dares to utter another word, this Chief will send him to his death right now!"

His threatening words echoed in everyone's ears, and the noisy chatter instantly ceased.

Many people were still filled with fear, their legs trembling, but they dared not speak casually.

Feng Hu was no good person; he was ruthless, extremely vicious, and had countless lives on his hands.

After Feng Hu saw everyone quiet down, he said loudly!

"Everyone, there's no need to panic. Although our horse breeding ground was ambushed by the Han Army and we lost a great deal of support,"

"But don't forget, everyone, we are currently in Langxu Mountain. All our troops combined number over ten thousand, which is no less than the Han Army."

"Moreover, we occupy a strategically dangerous terrain. Even a hundred thousand Han Army troops would not be able to break through, so what is there for everyone to panic about?"
