Chapter 2: First Encounter

Hello everyone, my name is Daxier Han, you can call me Daxier or Han. I hope to have a pleasant three years with all of you. Thank you.

After finishing his self-introduction, Han Zhiyan kept staring at a little girl. He always felt that the little girl looked familiar, as if he had seen her somewhere before.

Good morning everyone, my name is Crystal Liu. Thank you.

Upon hearing the name, Han Zhiyan still felt it sounded familiar, but with everyone introducing themselves one after another, he didn't think much of it.

The little girl seemed to sense someone looking at her, she looked back and saw Han Zhiyan watching her, then smiled at him a little shyly.

The little girl had a slight baby face, showing she was a natural beauty. Han Zhiyan saw her smile at him and, much to his chagrin, looked away, his heart beating a little faster.

Although Han Zhiyan was only 14 years old, thanks to his parents' height and good looks, he had already grown to 1.76 meters. His mixed-race features, high nose bridge, and defined facial contours made him quite handsome.

However, at this time, Han Zhiyan was still a bit unconfident due to his ordinary experiences in his previous life, so in the following days, he didn't intentionally make friends with those around him. Instead, he followed a routine of attending school during the day and returning home in the evening to read or write screenplays.

With complete films in his mind, coupled with a full professional education, 'copying' screenplays was not difficult for him, and he even fixed some bugs in the original movies.

Mia saw many screenplays she thought were excellent and asked Han Zhiyan if he wanted to sell them or wait for later.

Han Zhiyan had a serious long talk with Mia, telling her that he wanted to be a director in the future, and that he had read many books on the subject. These screenplays were for his own future productions, and he asked Mia to help him register them with the Writers Guild and the Copyright Office first.

Mia was a bit disappointed when she heard Han Zhiyan wanted to be a director. In her opinion, Han Zhiyan had taken so many classes with her and written several screenplays over the past six months, she thought he loved writing and wanted to be a screenwriter, and then she had been excited for so long for nothing.

Mia lay in bed, thinking that she could send him to the American Film Institute or the USC School of Cinematic Arts for university later, after all, she and his father hadn't been idle all these years.

Time passed slowly yet quickly... "Hey, can you stop touching my hair!" a petite girl said to a Korean-American girl with small, single-lidded eyes behind her. The girl behind her not only didn't stop but picked up a pen and started drawing something on her back.

This Douglasston Middle School 67 is a middle school where over half of the students are Asian. Most of the students are transferees from other countries; there are all kinds of students, of course, including academic overachievers and delinquents.

Han Zhiyan saw it very clearly from not far behind her; this was the second time he had witnessed it. The little girl in front seemed unwilling to cause trouble, so she hadn't mentioned it to anyone.

At this moment, the dismissal bell rang, and a white teacher behind the lecture desk, seeing what was happening, didn't intervene and walked out of the classroom on his own. The little girl was packing her bag to leave, but the Korean-American girl behind her seemed unwilling to let her go and reached out to pull her hair again.

Han Zhiyan, with a stern face, stepped forward and grabbed the Korean-American girl's arm.

"You should apologize to her. I've seen it many times. If you still want to study here properly."

"Aish, who are you? Are you sick?" the Korean-American girl said with a look of disdain.

"Apologize! Did you hear me!" Han Zhiyan said, increasing the force in his hand by a third.

"Aish, let go!"

"Just apologize to her and promise not to harass her again, and I'll let go." Han Zhiyan stared directly at the Korean-American girl. At this point, she turned her head and called out to a Korean-American boy at the door, "Hurry and help me, someone's bothering me!"

At this moment, the petite girl tugged at Han Zhiyan's sleeve and said, "Thank you for helping me, but please let her go. I'm fine. I was planning to tell my mom when I got home today, and she'll handle it. You don't need to get into trouble for me..."

Just then, the Korean-American boy also came over. He looked a bit timid facing Han Zhiyan, who was a head taller than him, but he still shouted, "Let her go!"

Seeing that Han Zhiyan ignored him, he became somewhat enraged, raised his fist, and swung it at Han Zhiyan. Han Zhiyan scoffed, sidestepped the 'little chick' in front of him, and directly kicked him, followed by a clatter of desks and chairs falling to the ground.

He looked at the two somewhat dazed girls and the surrounding onlookers and slowly said.

"I don't want to cause trouble for any of you, but today she was bullying that girl. I just asked her to apologize, is that so hard?"

The Korean-American girl hadn't recovered yet and was still dazed. At this moment, the Korean-American boy charged forward again.

"Jang-gu, you've messed with me! I'm a Taekwondo black belt!"

Han Zhiyan's expression turned cold when he heard that term. He loosened his grip, then reversed his hand into a grappling hold, grabbing the 'stick' and pressing him directly to the ground, continuously exerting force.

"Scream, keep barking, why aren't you barking anymore!" Han Zhiyan said, exerting force as he spoke.

Just as Han Zhiyan was about to continue exerting force, the little girl tugged at his arm, "No! Don't fight, you'll get expelled!" In her haste, she said "no" directly in Chinese.

"Chinese?" Han Zhiyan looked at her in surprise. He also asked her in Chinese, and the more he looked, the more familiar she seemed, the more he felt she was an acquaintance. Oh my god, isn't this Liu Yifei? I knew this school name sounded familiar, I knew she looked familiar from the start. It turns out I once saw a TikTok video about Liu Yifei having studied here, and she doesn't look much different now than she did later, just a bit more youthful, but a closer look shows a strong resemblance.

Just as Han Zhiyan was about to say something to Liu Yifei,

"Stop! Stop it right now!".

The Korean-American girl had run out to find a teacher at some point. The teacher, seeing the scene before him, almost fainted and quickly pulled Han Zhiyan away... In the principal's office, John was looking kindly at the well-behaved Han Zhiyan in front of him, listening to his description of what had just happened.

"Daxier, do you know that acting like this is wrong? If anything happens, you should just come to me."

John also glared fiercely at the teacher.

"Principal..." Han Zhiyan was interrupted by John before he could finish.

"You can call me John or Uncle. I know this isn't your fault. I've called their parents over. Mia couldn't make it, so I'll handle it later. You don't need to worry." John checked his watch. Just then, there was a knock at the door.

The two Korean-American parents had arrived outside, bringing their children with them.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have understood the situation. This student was bullying this girl at school, and Daxier intervened in time, preventing an impending act of school violence..." John said with a stern expression.

The two Korean-American parents tried to say something but were called into the reception room by John. Han Zhiyan didn't know how they discussed it afterwards, but he never saw those two Korean-Americans again.

Walking out of the principal's office, Han Zhiyan smiled at the little girl standing at the door, looking lost and glancing around. The current Xiao Fei Bao was not yet the strong girl of later years; she was just a young girl who had only recently arrived in America.

"I'm sorry, Daxier, are you okay? It's my fault you got involved. I'll tell the principal that this has nothing to do with you..." The little girl said in an anxious voice when she saw Han Zhiyan come out.
