Chapter 77: Li Huizi

Time rewound to before Qi Xiao went to Six Hotel to find Li Huizi.

He arrived at the last two carriages and saw Old Six still tidying up.

“How’s it going? Are you all done cleaning up?”

Old Six heard Qi Xiao’s voice and turned around.

“Chief, everything has been moved. All the dropped items in the carriage are here, not a single one is missing.”

“Very good, as expected of my Deputy Train Conductor.”

Li Huizi’s belongings weren’t much; they didn’t even fill one carriage.

There was a blanket that wasn’t too thick, a tatami mat, and a few toy pillows.

Most of her belongings were clothes.

Various JK uniform skirts, spring/summer styles, autumn/winter styles, long socks, short socks, lace socks, over-the-knee socks, waist stockings, thick white stockings, all neatly stacked in clothing storage baskets.

Qi Xiao roughly looked through them and didn’t find anything valuable.

“Good heavens, you even brought back someone’s blue-and-white bowl. You’re quite something, kid.”

Blue-and-white bowl? Old Six looked around but didn’t see the blue-and-white bowl Qi Xiao mentioned; there was, however, a yellow duck plastic bowl.

Qi Xiao didn’t see Xi Jian, so he asked:

“Where’s your Xi Jie? Why are you the only one working?”

“Xi Jie’s period came, and her stomach wasn’t feeling well, so I let her go back to rest first. Anyway, there’s nothing heavy; I can carry it all myself.”

Qi Xiao nodded.

“Still a warm man, Old Six. Warm men rank behind dogs, you know.”

“What about the train coins? Did you find any train coins?”

“No, not a single one was found.”

Qi Xiao: ?

That shouldn’t be. Logically speaking, she should have quite a few train coins.

Are they all on her person? Looking at her, she shouldn’t have any storage items.

Could she have used them all to buy that Little Fire Dragon?

Qi Xiao saw a familiar item.

He picked up the broken blade that was ‘opened’ from the six-star treasure chest, hesitated for a moment, and said to Old Six:

“When you’re done here, go make dinner. I’m going out again.”

“Yes, Chief!”

Qi Xiao put the broken blade into his jie bracelet and walked into Six Hotel.

...

Back in the hotel lobby on the first floor, Li Huizi placed her hand on her chest and couldn’t help but let out a long sigh.

This is great, I’m finally out.

Qi Xiao tossed the blade to her, and Li Huizi caught it, then bowed again to thank Qi Xiao.

The two walked out of Six Hotel, one after the other. When she saw that her Train had disappeared, although she was mentally prepared, Li Huizi’s body instinctively stiffened.

Sure enough, it’s no longer here.

The Train didn’t matter, but it was a pity that those uniforms and Huo Huo’s toys were gone.

Li Huizi didn’t grieve for too long because of this; she quickly adjusted her mood. I’m still alive, and that’s already very good!

In the future, I’ll have the chance to collect more beautiful JK uniforms and buy new toys for Huo Huo.

Li Huizi smiled and turned to look at Qi Xiao. Speaking of which, she still had to thank this man.

Qi Xiao had been observing Li Huizi’s expression changes from the side. When Li Huizi turned to look at him, Qi Xiao grinned, revealing a harmless smile.

The two of them smiled and looked at each other like that. Li Huizi bowed, expressing her gratitude to Qi Xiao once again.

Just then, a small black dog ran over, followed closely by Old Six.

It’s him?

Li Huizi’s expression clearly froze when she saw Old Six.

So, they were traveling together?

So, this is his son? But he looks so young, he should be about my age.

Did he become a father so early?

Black Wind Monster first ran to Qi Xiao, licked his pant leg for a bit, then its gaze was attracted by the Little Fire Dragon in Li Huizi’s arms.

Old Six came up to Qi Xiao and reported:

“Chief, dinner is ready; we can eat anytime.”

Qi Xiao stroked Old Six’s head and praised him for doing a good job.

“I’m hungry; let’s go back and eat quickly.”

“Where’s your Xi Jie? Still playing dead?”

Old Six scratched the back of his head and said awkwardly:

“Xi Jie is already eating.”

Qi Xiao: ?

“Damn it, is she rebelling? Let’s go back quickly.”

With that, Qi Xiao led Old Six and Black Wind Monster back.

As the sun set over the boundless wilderness, a gentle breeze blew, rustling the strands of hair at Li Huizi’s temples.

Li Huizi watched their retreating figures as they walked towards the red Train emitting warm light, suddenly feeling a bit lonely.

How I envy them, being able to travel together, adventure together, and eat together.

Speaking of which, wasn’t it because I was lonely that I used all my train coins to bring Huo Huo back?

Thinking of this, Li Huizi hugged the Little Fire Dragon in her arms even tighter.

Her chin rested on Little Fire Dragon’s head, and her hair covered her face, so her expression couldn’t be seen.

If only I had companions too...

“Come on, let’s go together.”

Hearing Qi Xiao’s voice, Li Huizi silently looked up.

When she saw Qi Xiao turn back and wave to her, Li Huizi paused, then raised her hand and pointed her index finger at herself.

...

Li Huizi followed Qi Xiao into the carriage. When she saw Xi Jian serving rice, she was stunned and quickly said:

“Excuse me, I’m disturbing you.”

Xi Jian turned around, and when she saw the Little Fire Dragon again, her eyes lit up.

She put down the rice spoon and rushed to Li Huizi, reaching straight for Little Fire Dragon’s head.

“So cute, Little Fire Dragon! So it was you who bought it.”

Qi Xiao looked disdainful; she really wasn’t being polite at all.

Both of them were speaking Japanese, and Qi Xiao didn’t understand. Before long, Xi Jian took Little Fire Dragon from Li Huizi’s hands and held it in her arms.

“Old Six, serve another bowl of rice.”

Old Six cooked stir-fried tomatoes with eggs, beef stew with potatoes, and hand-torn cabbage, which Qi Xiao had taught him.

Li Huizi wasn’t very hungry because she had eaten the oil pill Qi Xiao gave her, but she still politely ate a few bites.

Seeing that the time was about right, Qi Xiao said to Xi Jian, who was holding Little Fire Dragon:

“Translate for me. Just tell her that someone was trying to dismantle her Train, and it was me who, after a fierce battle, defended her Train.”

“But seeing that she hadn’t returned for a long time and the Train prompted that it was about to depart, I had no choice but to resort to this drastic measure and disassemble her carriage.”

“However, all her belongings have been transported back. She can check them herself later.”

Xi Jian looked disdainful: “You’re really shameless.”

“Nonsense. Translate it well. It’s best to talk more about how I repelled the enemy and heroically defended her Train.”

“Just translating isn’t enough; I also have to make things up myself, right?”

Xi Jian rolled her eyes at Qi Xiao, then began to translate Qi Xiao’s words to Li Huizi.

Li Huizi nodded repeatedly as she listened, and her gaze towards Qi Xiao became even more respectful.

After hearing Xi Jian’s words, she immediately put down her bowl and chopsticks, stood up, and bowed ninety degrees to Qi Xiao again to express her gratitude.

“She said she is truly grateful to you, and she doesn’t know how to repay such a great kindness.”
