Chapter 41: crazy

Feng Jun was in a state of near madness at this time; the previous blow had almost pierced Guma's waist wound.

He had activated dynamic vision, seeing everything around him as if in slow motion.

Feng Jun's vision was covered in a layer of bright red, and when he looked at Guma's body, Feng Jun could see several bright spots: at the waist, the left shoulder, and the ankle and knee of the right leg.

These areas appeared as bright points of light in Feng Jun's vision, corresponding to the wounds on Guma's body.

"Kill~ Kill~ Kill~" Feng Jun muttered incoherently, spitting a mouthful of fresh blood onto the inside of his power armor, staining the control panel within his helmet.

The power armor's internal system continuously sounded alarms, as the combat system detected multiple injuries on the pilot's body, and the internal life support system began automatically injecting adrenaline into Feng Jun.

Tearing off his power armor's helmet, Feng Jun stared intently at the Ape-man before him with bloodshot eyes.

His gaze swept over the Ape-man's left shoulder, waist, right knee, and ankle.

Although Feng Jun's brain wasn't thinking much at the moment, his instinct told him to attack these specific areas.

The armor on the Ape-man Guma's body could release a small energy shield, which could not be penetrated by ranged weapons, but could be by melee weapons.

Guma touched his waist; Feng Jun's previous sword strike had almost pierced his skin, giving him a sense of danger.

After Feng Jun took off his helmet, he saw a face covered in blood and contorted, roaring wildly at him.

Clenching the giant hammer in his hand, he decided to get serious and end this battle as quickly as possible.

As one of the Ape-man leaders, Guma had extensive combat experience, having killed countless humans and Mutants.

According to his memory, apart from mindless zombies and Mutants, only a small number of Mutated Creatures would have the instinct to go berserk, and these creatures, without exception, would be exceptionally troublesome after going berserk.

Guma gripped the hammer handle with both hands, blue electric arcs already swirling around the hammerhead.

"I must quickly deal with this human in front of me. I must try for a one-hit kill."

Guma launched the first attack.

Although his own weight plus the armor's weight exceeded a ton, he still had astonishing explosive power over short distances.

The giant hammer in his hand was raised high, the hammerhead aimed directly at Feng Jun's still wildly howling head, and swung down heavily.

Guma's full-power strike was accompanied by the sound of air tearing apart.

Just as the hammerhead was about to descend, Feng Jun swiftly dodged, moving directly to Guma's right side, and the Chainsword on his right arm directly pierced into the gap at Guma's right knee.

In pain, Guma immediately swung the giant hammer in his hand to the right.

Before his giant hammer could strike, Feng Jun withdrew his Chainsword, flashed to his left side, and the Chainsword once again pierced into his left shoulder.

The subsequent battle turned into a one-sided slaughter by Feng Jun.

Every one of Guma's attacks was easily dodged by him.

The Chainsword always accurately pierced into the gaps of his armor.

The left shoulder, right knee, and ankle became Feng Jun's primary targets.

At first, Guma could still endure by relying on his strong body.

He protected his waist and head, hoping to wait for Feng Jun's mistake to counter-kill him in one fell swoop.

But as the number of wounds on his body increased, he began to feel the urge to retreat, which exposed a fatal flaw.

Feng Jun seized his opening and thrust his sword through his right knee.

The Chainsword directly pierced through the entire knee joint, and the already overwhelmed right leg had its bones and nerves severed by Feng Jun.

Incapable of movement, Guma could only endure Feng Jun's relentless attacks in place.

Finally, Feng Jun seized an opportunity and plunged his Chainsword into his waist.

Before he could react, Feng Jun, following the armor's seam, directly cut a bone-deep wound across his abdomen.

The wound on Guma's waist, which had just healed not long ago, ruptured again and became even more severe, causing his internal intestines to instantly spill out.

Now, the fierce and calm expression he had earlier was gone from his eyes.

The giant hammer in his hand gradually became too heavy to swing, and he could no longer launch any decent attacks, or even lift the giant hammer in his hand.

"Pfft~" The Chainsword directly pierced into Guma's left shoulder, slicing downwards along the armor's seam, and his left arm was completely crippled by Feng Jun.

The giant hammer he had been holding also dropped to the ground.

Feng Jun stood before him, kicking over Guma, who was half-kneeling on the ground.

At some point, Feng Jun had acquired a long spear made of rebar.

It was with this weapon that he had pierced Li Lu's chest, and now Feng Jun was going to personally execute the murderer who had killed Li Lu.

Guma simply lay calmly on the ground, his face still expressionless.

His left arm and right leg were crippled, and his intestines and internal organs lay spilled on the ground.

If not for the Ape-man's strong vitality, he would have already died.

Looking at Feng Jun raising the spear in his hand, he let out a strange laugh from his throat, as if mocking Feng Jun, but he did not speak any more of that clumsy, stiff human language.

"Pah~" A mouthful of foul blood spat from his mouth, landing on Feng Jun's face.

Feng Jun had calmed down at this moment.

He did not dodge the Ape-man's spit, and aimed the spear in his hand at the Ape-man's heart, thrusting it down.

Blood gushed from the Ape-man's chest, splattering all over Feng Jun.

This Ape-man maintained a smiling face until his death.

He seemed to be mocking Feng Jun, as if he knew the relationship between Feng Jun and the female human he had killed.

Feng Jun quickly turned around, a mouthful of fresh blood spraying from his mouth.

His body was also almost at its limit.

After continuous high-load operation, his brain and nervous system were on the verge of collapse, not to mention the internal injuries his body had sustained from the Ape-man's giant hammer strikes.

The power armor's system continuously emitted alarm sounds, indicating the pilot's critical condition.

The internal medical system had already injected Feng Jun with four doses of adrenaline.

Feng Jun struggled to walk two steps towards the factory entrance, then spat out another mouthful of blood.

He had recovered from his berserk state, and although he had killed the Ape-man, he still couldn't accept the fact that Li Lu was dead.

Signs of exhaustion appeared in his body, and he began to tremble uncontrollably, no longer able to control the power armor to take steps forward.

"My consciousness is blurring, I need to take Li Lu back."

This was the only thought in Feng Jun's mind at that moment.

Just as Feng Jun uncontrollably knelt at the factory entrance, blood blurred his vision.

As he was about to lose consciousness, a familiar figure stumbled out from inside the factory.

Feng Jun's vision was already blurry, and in a daze, he seemed to see Li Lu's figure walking towards him.

"Li Lu? She's alive! That's great, but she hasn't turned into a zombie, has she?"

Although Feng Jun desperately wanted to open his eyes and see the figure walking towards him clearly, his vision went black and he collapsed to the ground, losing consciousness.

The one walking towards him was naturally Li Lu herself; she had not turned into a zombie.

However, the Ape-man had indeed pierced her heart just now, which would have been fatal for anyone else, but Li Lu's body had undergone some mutation after her evolution.

She had grown a second heart.

Her original heart's lower right side had grown a second mutated heart after evolution, which was also the source of her strength, far surpassing ordinary people.

Although Li Lu's second heart was slightly smaller, it was no different from a normal heart and also had a complete second blood supply system within her body.

Li Lu's ability to achieve evolution values stronger than the average male while maintaining a female physique was greatly related to this second heart.

Other females in the wasteland, after gaining strength comparable to males, tended to develop more masculine physiques, with some even having muscles and bulk comparable to males.

Besides providing blood circulation to Li Lu in emergencies, this heart could also provide her with immense strength, continuously send blood throughout her body during combat, and even filter out toxins and harmful substances from the blood.

The moment Li Lu's heart was pierced by the spear, she did indeed lose control of her body.

Although she retained a sliver of consciousness, the excruciating pain of a pierced heart directly paralyzed her body.

Afterward, she was thrown aside by the Ape-man as if she were a corpse, and her consciousness gradually blurred, until recently, when her body autonomously closed the main cardiac artery, and the second heart began to accelerate its operation, taking over the work of the first heart to transport blood throughout her body.

However, because her heart was directly pierced, Li Lu lost a large amount of blood, and her body was currently in an extremely weak state.

Due to excessive blood loss, Li Lu was also very weak at the moment.

Having just regained consciousness, she didn't even have the strength to utter a single word until she heard the sounds of Feng Jun fighting the Ape-man, at which point she became aware of the battle outside.

Originally, she had been somewhat worried that Feng Jun would simply abandon her and run, as Feng Jun possessed the ability to traverse, and no one could stop him if he wanted to flee.

However, she had not expected Feng Jun to stay and fight for her, though she immediately sensed something was wrong from Feng Jun's roaring voice.

This irrational sound made her worry about Feng Jun's safety.

Some Evolvers would suddenly evolve during a crisis due to external stimuli, a process that was extremely dangerous, with some even losing their sanity.

However, Li Lu was extremely weak after regaining consciousness; even sitting up required all her strength.

When she shakily sat up, Feng Jun had already completely fallen into a state of madness.

Although Feng Jun's willingness to fall into madness and fight the Ape-man for her truly moved her, she was now even more concerned about Feng Jun's condition.

The maddened Feng Jun quickly ended the battle, but his condition was not optimistic; he had to be placed in a life support pod for treatment as soon as possible.

Li Lu finally regained some strength at this point, struggling to stand up.

But as soon as she walked out of the factory door, she saw Feng Jun lose consciousness and collapse in front of her.
