Chapter 56: First company

Han Wenbo began to speak endlessly to Feng Jun about business details, product marketing, promotion, and advertising. There were also some tedious public relations matters, because the mechanical cats and dogs were designed as internet-connected products that could access the network, and might require applications for network access permits and mandatory product certification, which would cost a large sum of money. Moreover, this product was parachuted into the company, with no prior communication with the R&D department. To better introduce their products, frontline marketing personnel needed to be familiar with them, and training these personnel would incur another significant expense.

Feng Jun initially listened patiently to Han Wenbo, but gradually lost his patience. Feng Jun directly stopped Han Wenbo's incessant talking.

"How much money do you need? I'll transfer it to you," Feng Jun said.

"It's not about money," Han Wenbo said. "You should come to the company with me this afternoon. This is your company, but you've never been here. Oh, by the way, do you have samples? We can let the company's employees get familiar with them before the holiday."

"They're in my car. Let's go now. I also want to experience what it's like to be a boss. It's a good chance to see the company environment." Feng Jun had already put the electronic cats and dogs in his car before eating. He had originally planned to let Han Wenbo see the real appearance of the products today.

"How did you get here?" Feng Jun asked as they walked out.

Han Wenbo scratched his head and said sheepishly, "By taxi~"

Feng Jun said, "Luckily I have a car. I was planning to have you drive me. You're a manager of a company with over 100 million in registered capital, how come you haven't even bought a car?"

"I'm used to it. Besides, we're just starting, so we should save where we can," Han Wenbo said with a shrug.

Feng Jun's Audi Founder was parked on the side of the road. They opened the car door and got in. The prototype mechanical cats and dogs were sitting obediently in the back seat, which surprised Han Wenbo when he saw them. Compared to the concept images on the tablet, the appearance of the actual objects surprised him even more; they looked exactly like real kittens and puppies.

"Not just their appearance, they are designed to be more human-friendly. You can interact with them," Feng Jun said while driving.

"Oh~ okay. Have you named them?" Han Wenbo looked at the two little cuties in the back. He actually liked cats and dogs quite a bit. After hesitating for a moment, he reached out his hand to the cat, and the mechanical cat, just like a real kitten, actively rubbed its head against Han Wenbo's hand when he reached out, and purred like a cat as Han Wenbo continued to stroke it.

"No names yet. I'll leave that to you to figure out. You can come up with a name related to the company, something that makes people think of our product as soon as they see it." Feng Jun hadn't given much thought to the names of the mechanical cats and dogs. It was better to leave such matters to his subordinates.

Han Wenbo did not choose to rent an office building in the most prosperous area of Shangqing City, but instead opted for a slightly secluded commercial district. This area was only considered an average section in Shangqing City, mostly housing marketing companies or branches of insurance companies.

Han Wenbo pointed to a building and said, "In Building B at the northwest corner, I rented the sixteenth to seventeenth floors of that office building. Currently, the company headquarters has 98 employees. I recruited mostly fresh university graduates and not too many people, because I wanted to lay a solid foundation for the company."

Feng Jun nodded. Han Wenbo's thinking was naturally correct. The future development of the company would naturally depend on the foundation laid today, and it was very necessary to cultivate a group of relatively loyal employees.

After parking the car, Feng Jun and Han Wenbo got out directly. Originally, he wanted to carry the mechanical cat and dog, but Feng Jun said not to worry, that even if people got lost, they wouldn't. So, the cleaning uncle sweeping outside the office building today saw a scene: two men entering the office building with a cat and a dog.

"I've heard that some companies now allow cats in the office, and today I finally saw it. But it will make indoor cleaning difficult," the cleaning uncle said, shaking his head.

Feng Jun followed Han Wenbo directly into the elevator. It was around three o'clock in the afternoon, which was peak time for some people going to and from work. It was truly rare to see two adults with a cat and a dog taking the elevator, attracting the attention of countless office workers.

The elevator stopped directly on the seventeenth floor. Han Wenbo led Feng Jun directly into the office area. Because the employee work area was separate from the offices, Feng Jun did not directly see the employees.

"I've reserved a dedicated CEO's office for you, right next to mine. However, since you've never been here, it's been empty, and I don't know your preferences, so it hasn't been decorated much," Han Wenbo said, leading Feng Jun to a door labeled 'CEO's Office', opening it, and ushering Feng Jun in.

The office was over one hundred square meters, and its decoration was very simple, with only a set of office desk and chair, and a tea table. Feng Jun looked around and said, "Actually, you don't need to reserve a special room for me. I don't come often."

"But people still need to know you exist as the boss! I'll arrange for you to hold a meeting later, just a simple introduction to the employees. I'll take care of the rest," Han Wenbo said, then walked away, leaving Feng Jun, a cat, and a dog in the office.

Feng Jun had no choice but to sit down in the office, but fortunately, he had the cat and dog to keep him company, so he wasn't idle in the office.

Just as Feng Jun was constantly interacting with the cat and dog, the sound of high heels echoed from far to near outside the door. It stopped right at the door of the next room. It seemed the person saw the CEO's office door was open, and came over from the next room.

A woman with shoulder-length short hair, dressed in a business suit, appeared at the doorway. She knocked on the CEO's office door and said, "The interview office is in the manager's office next door. You've gone to the wrong place."

Feng Jun, who was playing with the dog, stopped his movements and looked up. A beautiful woman with a serious expression was standing at the door, looking at Feng Jun with a hint of anger.

"Bringing pets to an interview, even though our General Manager Han is usually quite open-minded, you are far too informal. Hurry up and come with me to the next room." The short-haired beauty seemed a bit impatient, her words betraying a coldness as she directly urged Feng Jun.

"Okay, okay." Feng Jun had roughly understood the situation. This beautiful woman must have mistaken him for someone who came for an interview and went to the wrong room. However, she couldn't be blamed, as he had never appeared in the company before. But Feng Jun did not offer too many explanations; instead, he followed her instructions and walked out of the CEO's office.

The room next door was naturally the general manager's office, which was Han Wenbo's office. Before entering, Feng Jun said, "You two wait at the door, sit by the wall and don't run around." The cat and dog, who had been following behind, squatted down by the corridor wall after hearing the command, like two well-behaved children.

"Oh~" The short-haired beauty let out a gasp of surprise when she saw this scene and was immediately drawn to the pair of well-behaved pets. Such obedient pets were probably a first for anyone to see, but she only glanced at them before entering the office together.

After entering the office, the short-haired beauty gestured for Feng Jun to sit down and began a brief self-introduction. Perhaps because of the previous scene, her tone towards Feng Jun was much gentler. "My name is Fang Ziqing, I'm General Manager Han's secretary. General Manager Han will be here shortly to interview you. You can rest assured, General Manager Han is a very nice person, so there's no need to be too nervous."

Feng Jun smiled and nodded, "Thank you, I'm not nervous."

Fang Ziqing sat beside him and said, "Did you raise those two pets since they were little? How are they so obedient? How do you train them?"

"Oh, that's not a secret. Once we become colleagues, I can teach you. It's very simple," Feng Jun said.

"Haha! Then I'll be waiting for you," Fang Ziqing said.

Subsequently, Fang Ziqing's phone rang, likely receiving a message. After glancing at her phone, she left the office, not forgetting to cheer Feng Jun on before leaving. She seemed to think very highly of Feng Jun, a complete change from her cold and icy demeanor at the door.

Shortly after Fang Ziqing left, Han Wenbo appeared in the office.

"Why did you come to my office? The employees are all waiting in the meeting room downstairs. You can say whatever you want, just a simple introduction to the product, and I'll wrap up the rest," Han Wenbo said.

Feng Jun said, "I came to get a glass of water. Oh, by the way, your secretary is quite good-looking! You have good taste! I thought you were abstinent."

Han Wenbo said with a smile, "Secretary? Fang Ziqing? I need someone to help me handle some other miscellaneous matters. Besides, as a man, having a beautiful secretary is a feast for the eyes. If you like her, I can transfer her to your office. She's also single."

"Go, go, go, I have no intentions towards female subordinates," Feng Jun quickly said.

At this moment, in the meeting room on the sixteenth floor, a group of young men and women were sitting together, chattering non-stop. They were all curious about what kind of person the never-before-seen CEO was, and what the company's product that the manager mentioned looked like.

Fang Ziqing was surrounded by a group of men and women, with several girls sitting next to her constantly asking her questions.

One girl said, "Ziqing, what kind of person do you think the CEO is? Is it a man or a woman? You're closest to Manager Han, haven't you heard him mention anything?"

A boy from behind interrupted and said, "Why are you asking about that? I'm more curious about finally knowing what we do. I've been here for several months doing boring odd jobs. Although the salary and benefits are really good, I feel like I'm going to waste away."

"Such a straight man. Maybe it's an overbearing CEO, and it will be a direct 'overbearing CEO falls in love with me' drama," another infatuated girl said.

"Exactly, exactly. Hasn't shown up for so long. Maybe it's a young master from a wealthy family who started a business," another girl echoed.

"Stop talking, General Manager Han is here," Fang Ziqing, who had been watching the meeting room entrance, said.
