Chapter 3: I actually traveled through time?

In the dark void, Li Ang's consciousness lay quietly. This was the dwelling of the DC Universe's supreme god, 'God.' With a casual wave of his hand, large swathes of light emanated from his palm, congregating in the air before slowly drifting into Li Ang's consciousness.

His consciousness, damaged from traversing the universe, was gradually repairing and sublimating. As the light merged, his consciousness began to radiate a brilliance that was not originally his. Seeing that the light had almost completely merged, 'God' nodded, then waved his hand, and Li Ang's consciousness returned to his body.

Accompanied by a wave of pain, Li Ang slowly opened his eyes. Before him was a glass containment pod, and he was trapped inside. Through the reflection in the glass, he could see that his face was not his original one. Suddenly, a massive influx of memories flooded his mind, accompanied by a headache: "Cadmus... Superman... Clone... Gene Golem..." With a splitting headache, Li Ang slowly pieced together his current situation.

It seemed the current world was not the same as the one he knew, with many more Super Heroes and Super Villains. However, it was extremely similar to the DC Universe he was familiar with. As a university student in his previous life, he had some knowledge of these things, but not extensively, only recognizing classic characters and their basic forms.

Therefore, Li Ang could not be 100% certain that he had truly transmigrated to the so-called DC Universe. According to the memories of this body, it was originally a Clone made from Superman's DNA, intended to kill and replace Superman. The original owner's memories were imparted to him through the telepathic abilities of a monster called a Gene Golem.

The people of the Illuminati, who were also the source of the other half of this body's genes—Lex Luthor—named him Superboy. So, his body should have lost some abilities due to incomplete Krypton genes, but exactly which abilities were lost was still unknown.

Now, he had transmigrated into this body due to a car accident. Although he had watched transmigration movies and TV shows before, when it happened to him, it still felt too surreal. Thinking this, Li Ang reined in his thoughts and began to survey his surroundings. He was confined in a glass storage pod, and through the glass, he could see that the outside was a laboratory. The surrounding crimson, fleshy walls had many things resembling large insect eggs, seemingly incubating something inside.

So, his primary goal was to escape this place first. No matter which universe he was in, ensuring his safety was the top priority. Moreover, being treated as a weapon was a classic trope. According to the usual pattern, such organizations were generally quite powerful. If he didn't escape, his abnormality would definitely be discovered.

Never treat others as fools, especially those who can establish a foothold in such a chaotic world. And never have the arrogant mindset of a transmigrator, after all, there were quite a few predecessors who met their demise because of it.

He had no sense of belonging to Cadmus or the Illuminati, and such organizations didn't look like righteous ones in any way, so he should find a way to leave.

As Li Ang thought, he felt the surging power within his body: "It's truly incredible, to possess such power. Is this what they call a Clone of Superman? If so, breaking this glass shouldn't be a problem." With that, Li Ang twisted his body and suddenly threw a left punch. The moment his fist connected with the glass cover, the entire containment pod instantly exploded.

Li Ang also fell to the ground. Although he was just a powerless university student in his previous life, this body possessed many combat skills and techniques for using power. Even if he needed time to slowly digest them, they could help him gradually familiarize himself with this body. As the excitement brought by the sudden surge of power gradually subsided, Li Ang also calmed down.

He turned his gaze towards the laboratory door, a metal door over three meters tall. Its pure silver, heavy metallic feel made it seem impossible for an ordinary person to open it with bare hands.

Next to the door was a central control panel, which might hold clues to getting out. However, just as Li Ang was frustrated by the incomprehensible operation panel on the control console, the entire laboratory suddenly flashed red, accompanied by an alarm.

A mechanical voice came from the broadcast: "Alert! Alert! Kr weapon has awakened, containment pod shattered. All units, proceed to subdue." Hearing this, Li Ang thought, 'This is bad,' and realized he needed to find a shortcut. He walked to the door, gripped the metal door tightly with both hands, and pulled outward. With a thunderous crash, the door was easily lifted by Li Ang. Then, Li Ang threw the door aside and walked straight out. Looking at the three-way fork in the path before him, Li Ang felt a headache.

Damn it, he didn't know the way. Just as Li Ang was pondering which path to take, a rapid sound of footsteps suddenly came from afar. At this moment, Li Ang closed his eyes, carefully sensing with his Super Hearing.

In that instant, it was as if he could hear everything in the world: intricate footsteps, the rustling of clothes, the panting breaths of running, and even a few footsteps that were incredibly loud, as if elephants were running.

Li Ang opened his eyes and looked towards the source of the sound. He squinted, and suddenly his eyes lit up. His gaze penetrated the wall, allowing him to see the Cadmus personnel and many Gene Golems rushing towards him. One type of Golem was small-bodied, crawled on all fours with sharp limbs, and had a long tail. The other was terrifyingly large, with a massive body, thick forelimbs similar to a Gorilla Grodd, and walked upright, exuding an immense, suffocating pressure. Without time to think, Li Ang chose a random path and ran.

"Damn it, why are these ugly monsters chasing so closely?" Just as Li Ang rounded a corner, he was met with a wall. At this moment, the Cadmus personnel also caught up.

Leading them was a man in a dark blue tactical suit holding a golden shield. This man was the DC Super Hero Guardian, but he was under the control of Cadmus's mutated goblins and was currently in charge of security at Cadmus. Li Ang knew none of this. He raised his fists, and many combat memories gradually replayed in his mind.

"Superboy, I order you to return to your chamber now," Guardian said expressionlessly, with empty eyes.

"Get lost! I won't go back into a cage!" His eyes, hidden behind his fists, were as sharp as an eagle's. He lowered his body, like a spring compressed to its limit. The moment he finished speaking, Li Ang shot out like an arrow. In an instant, Li Ang had already reached Guardian, twisting his waist and hips to transfer all his strength into his fist. His fist created a sonic boom in the air as it slammed into Guardian's stomach.

"Bang!"

Guardian was bent into an arc like a large shrimp, then uncontrollably flew backward and was slammed into the wall. He then struggled to get up, spitting out some fragmented internal organs, and commanded, "Catch him!" Then he passed out.

Upon hearing the command, the Gene Golems instantly moved. The smaller mutated forms leaped onto Li Ang one after another, biting him, but to Li Ang, who possessed a steel body, it was all like a tickle. He then punched them one by one, turning them into meat paste.

Suddenly, a Gene Golem wrapped its arms around him from behind, and the remaining mutated forms also piled on. Unable to break free for a moment, Li Ang was surprised by the immense strength of these Gene Golems.

"If there's no way out, then I'll make a way out!" Li Ang bent his legs, then pushed off with all his might. The force was so great that he broke free from the restraint, leaped straight up, shattered the ceiling, and jumped to the floor above.

Just as Li Ang thought he had temporarily escaped danger, the insect eggs on the surrounding walls suddenly began to squirm. Immediately after, countless Gene Golems broke out of their eggs and lunged at Li Ang. Seeing this, Li Ang had no time to think; he turned and ran. Fighting was out of the question. According to his memories, this should be over 50 floors underground, and who knew how many more monsters like these there were. So, conserving energy and making a quick escape was the best strategy.

Floor 32. Li Ang looked at the floor number before him, feeling a slight tingle in his scalp. Because he didn't know the way, every escape depended on luck, and he had to guard against pursuers along the way. "Sigh, it's really too tiring. Other people transmigrate to other worlds with all sorts of systems and golden fingers, beautiful women and status, whatever they want. Why is it that when it comes to me, even basic life safety isn't guaranteed?"

After a brief complaint, Li Ang prepared to continue his escape. Suddenly, a deafening roar came from not far away. He had to run quickly. This monster sounded like trouble, so it was better to leave quickly. However, things did not go as planned. Just as Li Ang removed the door blocking his way and prepared to run, he discovered that inside was a super-large laboratory, with various experimental subjects contained in glass jars.

Inside the laboratory, three teenagers in strange uniforms were confronting a grotesque monster with dark blue skin, rough muscles, and an extremely ugly appearance. Based on the sound, this monster should be the one he had just heard. Yes, you read that right, our protagonist Li Ang not only didn't run far, but he actually ran right into its face. Li Ang, who possessed Super Hearing and Super Vision, was lost again. "(⊙﹏⊙) Do you believe me if I say I didn't mean to barge in?" Li Ang said with a bitter smile.
