Chapter 38: God's power

There was no warning, no declaration of war, and no strategic probing or sneak attacks.

Xuan Hao directly unleashed his Mental Energy Domain.

Boundless crimson swept out from him, engulfing everything around.

“Om—!!!”

This was a vibration undetectable by ordinary people.

A grand Mental Energy hum resonated through space, sweeping in all directions.

This was not a sound, but more like a ripple in space.

Centered on Xuan Hao, thick scarlet mist, like a surging tide, instantly covered the entire construction site.

But reality remained unchanged.

At the construction site, the work continued noisily.

Yet, in a higher dimension, deep within the rolling sea of mist, a colossal eye, like a blood-red star, suddenly opened.

Cold, indifferent, looking down upon all living beings.

Xuan Hao’s gaze swept across, and his Mental Energy Domain violently warped.

It was compressed, stretched…

No longer a uniformly covering Domain, but rather molten liquid metal, forcibly changing its shape.

“Om!”

“Hiss!”

A phantom tearing sound echoed.

There wasn't much change where Xuan Hao’s Primordial Spirit resided.

But the surrounding Mental Energy Domain was stretched and twisted, transforming into hundreds of blood-red “Immortal Silks.”

Xuan Hao waved his large hand, launching an attack!

Hundreds of “Blood-Red Immortal Silks” struck, ignoring physical obstacles, penetrating the surface and rocks, surging into the giant cave entrance of the construction site.

“Om!”

“Om!”

Space rippled, and the “Blood-Red Immortal Silks” plunged towards the deepest part of the earth.

In the mountain cave, the paths branched out in all directions.

“Wait, what’s that sound?”

“Ah, my head’s going to explode!”

“Look, what is that?”

The moment the “Blood-Red Immortal Silks” surged into the cave, the labyrinthine tunnels suddenly erupted into chaos.

Workers who were pushing carts or inspecting equipment were suddenly struck as if by a heavy blow.

“It… it hurts so much.”

“What happened?”

Everyone clutched their heads and crouched down, letting out agonizing screams.

They felt an unbearable, piercing pain in their heads.

Even more terrifying, some workers with more sensitive Mental Energy saw sights that could drive them mad.

“Mon… monster!”

“Red, it’s all red!”

“It’s tentacles, giant, bloody tentacles.”

“It’s moving, ah ah ah!”

In the terrified gazes of the crowd, hundreds of Blood-Red Immortal Silks streaked through the air of the cave.

Blood-light, like a beam, traversed the tunnel.

This thing brought not only visual shock but also a cold, Soul-tearing agony.

Just making eye contact was enough to make their Mental Energy nearly collapse.

“Where are the tentacles?”

“What are you screaming about?”

The nearby co-workers looked around in confusion, seeing nothing.

Fear, like a plague, spread rapidly.

“Never mind, run!”

“Call the police, sound the alarm!”

“Forget it, run!”

Soon, chaos overwhelmed all reason.

Piercing alarms blared in the mine, mixed with cries and curses.

Many couldn't see the so-called “monster” their co-workers spoke of, but they had long been scared witless by the howling, scrambling and crawling, stampeding towards the exit.

...

On the outskirts of the construction site, the Flower-Faced Man’s muscles tensed, and fine beads of sweat seeped from his forehead.

His vision was twofold.

Firstly, he saw the real world:

The interior of the tunnel was like a startled ant’s nest, countless figures in work clothes frantically surging out, running away in terror.

Secondly, he had a faint connection with the Mental Energy Domain.

He glimpsed a part of the scene within.

It wasn't a thin mist covering the earth, but a churning sea of blood.

Hundreds of bloodlines spread, deeply rooted in the earth.

Above the blood-red sky, that pair of indifferent, condescending giant eyes made his Soul tremble.

It was merely the unfolding of a True Monarch's Divine Power...

Or rather, the True Monarch had only assumed an offensive stance, and those fleeing ordinary people, their stumbling postures, their helpless cries...

Were insignificant in the True Monarch's eyes!

“Is this what a God is like…?”

The Flower-Faced Man’s lips trembled, his face filled with awe.

O Level Martial Artist?

A-grade powerhouse?

Before this level of power, what was the difference between them and those running workers?

They didn't even have the qualifications to be glanced at by a God!

The divine war had only just begun, and it was already so terrifying.

The Flower-Faced Man quickly composed himself, dispelling those unnecessary associations.

The more he thought about it, the easier it was for his Mental Energy to falter.

If he inadvertently stepped into that blood-red Domain, he had no doubt that he would be reduced to ashes in the clash of the two Gods’ powers.

...

Deep underground, hundreds of meters below.

Xuan Hao’s Mental Energy traveled at high speed, penetrating complex rock layers.

His gaze swept across, locking onto the giant egg.

At the end of a wide tunnel, around a temporary platform built with steel scaffolding, a dozen figures gathered.

They did not flee; instead, they knelt on the ground, performing some strange prayer posture.

Their bodies were covered in viscous “grease.”

Some seeped from their eyes, ears, and nostrils, while others formed pus-filled bulges, adhering to their skin.

These were all corrupted dependents infected by the Outer God.

The Outer God’s power was attached to them; during the process of physical mutation, material energy was converted through this viscous fluid and transported to the core deep underground.

“Evil.”

Xuan Hao’s indifferent will swept over them.

He waved his large hand, and the Blood-Red Immortal Silks swept across.

“Puff.”

“Bang!”

These dependents of the evil god didn’t even feel pain before being crushed by the higher-ranked power.

Flesh and blood flew, shattered bones splattered.

A dozen lives, along with the filth on their bodies, were instantly pulverized and cleansed.

Xuan Hao did not stop; his Mental Energy flew downwards.

Soon, his tendrils were close to the target, approaching the giant egg buried deep within the earth’s core.

“Om!”

A power different from Xuan Hao’s suddenly surged from deep underground, like the roar of a sleeping behemoth thoroughly enraged.

“Boom!”

The entire construction site erupted in violent tremors.

On the mountain walls, gravel tumbled down.

“Rumble.”

The ground cracked, and huge fissures rapidly spread.

“This is bad, an earthquake!”

“The cave is collapsing.”

“Run, everyone run!”

At the construction site, the crowd fled in panic.

“Boom—!”

Accompanied by the tremor of the earth, hundreds of huge, dark green tentacles, like giant pythons, burst out of the ground.

For a moment, smoke and dust rolled, and gravel flew!

The tentacles whipped, their power stirring up a storm; wherever they passed, the air became thick.

“Monsters, there really are monsters!”

“Don’t look, run!”

Witnessing this nightmarish scene, ordinary people could only let out desperate screams.

“Very good.”

Looking at the wildly dancing dark green tentacles, Xuan Hao not only showed no solemnity, but a sharp light flashed in his eyes.

His plan had succeeded!

Indeed, this Outer God had not yet completed its gestation.

He directly launched an attack, forcing this Outer God to interrupt its long incubation and awaken part of its power prematurely to counterattack.

Both sides were in the process of gestation.

But this Outer God had started earlier than him!

If nothing had changed, this Outer God would have broken out of its shell before him, becoming a fatal threat.

But now, the gestation was interrupted.

Both sides were back on the same starting line.
