Chapter 218: #218 - 218 The word "Uncle" made me fall in love with him

Gu Yun clapped his hands, his voice betraying no emotion. "As expected of Old Wen's granddaughter, you have guts. You're definitely the first to surround my Golden Splendor Pavilion. I'm impressed."

Wen Yan stared directly at Gu Yun, her voice cold. "I only want Jiang Mo. Hand him over, and I'll leave immediately. I absolutely won't be your enemy, Third Master Gu. I don't want to be your enemy. I just want him back."

"I already said, he's not here. How many times do I have to repeat myself before you believe me? If you insist he's here, then show me the evidence.

Little Wen Yan, if you want to force your way in and search, then I'll have no choice but to visit Old Master Wen and let him see for himself how his most prized granddaughter is willing to go to such lengths for a man."

Wen Yan's brow furrowed slightly. The Wen family knew nothing about her relationship with Jiang Mo.

Her grandfather's favorite was still Fu Jinzhou.

Wen Yan sat back down on the sofa. "Speak. What will it take to release him? Name your conditions. Anything."

Gu Yun smiled, but without warmth. "Anything? What if I demanded an exorbitant sum from the esteemed Miss Wen?"

Wen Yan replied immediately, "How much? Name your price."

Gu Yun laughed again. "It seems Miss Wen really cares about this Jiang Mo. It would have to be at least this much."

He held up five fingers.

Wen Yan agreed readily. "Five hundred million. Deal. I'll have Bai Ling deliver the money tomorrow. Where is he? I want to see him first, to make sure he's safe and sound. If he's missing an arm or a leg…"

Gu Yun clapped his hands. "Bring him out."

Jiang Mo was pushed into the room, and he immediately saw Wen Yan sitting on the sofa.

It was his wife! As expected, his wife had come to save him!

Wen Yan stood up immediately, asking with concern, "Jiang Mo, are you alright? Are you hurt? Did they mistreat you?"

Jiang Mo shook his head. "I'm fine."

Wen Yan didn't believe him. She knew Third Master Gu's methods.

Then, she checked Jiang Mo over from head to toe, but he really didn't seem to have any injuries.

Could they be hidden where she couldn't see?

Wen Yan started to tug at Jiang Mo's clothes. "Let me see if you're hurt underneath."

"I'm fine, wife. Third Master Gu didn't lay a hand on me. I'm really fine."

Jiang Mo grasped Wen Yan's hand. "I really wasn't hurt at all."

Wen Yan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She had thought Jiang Mo would be tortured, but it seemed this Third Master Gu had some conscience after all.

Gu Yun smiled faintly. "Little Wen Yan, you see? I didn't touch him. I just wanted him to be a guest here."

"A guest? Is kidnapping someone to your basement being a guest?"

Gu Yun was all-powerful in the capital, with immense influence and power. Kidnapping someone was as easy as crushing an ant.

"Ask Jiang Mo. Did I make things difficult for him? I wined and dined him. This morning, I even had breakfast with him."

Wen Yan asked incredulously, "Jiang Mo, is that true? He really didn't make things difficult for you?"

Jiang Mo nodded. "Third Master Gu didn't make things difficult for me. He even had me eat with him this morning. Don't worry about me."

"I'm taking you back first. This isn't a good place."

Wen Yan prepared to leave with him.

She wasn't sure what Gu Yun was up to, but it definitely wasn't anything good.

"Wait. I'm quite fond of my little friend Jiang Mo. I'd like to keep him for another day. Little Wen Yan wouldn't object, would she?"

As soon as Gu Yun finished speaking, the men around him blocked the door, leaving no gaps.

"Third Master said, Jiang Mo can't leave."

Wen Yan turned her head and asked, "Keep him for another day?"

Gu Yun leaned back on the sofa and said casually, "Come pick him up again tomorrow. I guarantee he'll still be unharmed. As for the agreed-upon five hundred million, bring it with you tomorrow."

Five hundred million!

Jiang Mo had never felt so expensive.

"Fine. You'd better keep your word."

Wen Yan glared coldly at Gu Yun.

If they fought, she didn't know if she could win, especially on Gu Yun's territory.

Gu Yun raised his eyes. "A promise is a promise. I'll release him tomorrow. Now, Little Wen Yan, you can leave with your people."

"Fine, I'll leave."

Jiang Mo patted Wen Yan's hand, giving her a reassuring look.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. I can protect myself."

Wen Yan instructed worriedly, "Okay, then be careful. I'll come pick you up tomorrow. Don't get hurt."

"Don't worry, wife. I can do it. Don't worry about me."

Wen Yan was still worried. She gently kissed Jiang Mo's handsome face. "Then promise me you won't get hurt."

"I promise."

Gu Yun was speechless. "Are you two saying your final goodbyes? I didn't say I was going to hurt him."

Wen Yan left the room, Jiang Mo still watching her receding figure.

"She's already gone, you can't see her anymore. What is she to you? A little lover?" Gu Yun teased with a smile.

Jiang Mo nodded. "You could say that."

"She cares about you a lot, willing to pay a ransom of five hundred million."

Jiang Mo pursed his lips. "Third Master Gu, you're not really planning to take the five hundred million ransom, are you?"

"What do you think?"

Gu Yun and Jiang Mo walked out of the private room together.

Jiang Mo said, "I guess you won't. You're just joking. How could you possibly take money from a junior?"

Gu Yun raised his eyebrows in surprise. "You understand me quite well."

"So-so," Jiang Mo said with a smile.

The surrounding people stared in disbelief. What was going on? Were they actually chatting?

Gu Yun turned his head. "This kid is quite likeable. How old are you this year? Judging by your appearance, you should be about the same age as my nephew."

"Yeah, I'll be twenty-four this year."

"That's really the same age. How did you offend him?"

Jiang Mo explained, "I didn't offend him. Maybe it's because I'm better looking than him, so he's jealous of me."

Gu Yun's eyes darkened. "Really? Don't forget he's my nephew, and you're just an outsider."

"I'm telling the truth. He's too arrogant, playing a winning hand terribly, and he has the nerve to blame me."

Jiang Mo shrugged. "I don't have an uncle to back me up."

His relatives were all strange, hoping he wouldn't do well.

Now that he was doing better and better, they didn't contact him anymore.

Jiang Mo caught up with Gu Yun, whispering, "Third Master, look how well we get along. How about you be my uncle?"

As soon as he spoke, the surroundings fell silent.

Gu Yun was stunned for a moment. "What did you just say?"

Jiang Mo repeated himself, "I said I don't have an uncle. How about you be my uncle? We get along so well, and we even look alike."

The surrounding people gasped, giving Jiang Mo a thumbs up.

This little prisoner dared to try and associate himself with their Third Master. He was dead, dead, absolutely dead!

Third Master hated people like this the most!

Then, everyone heard Third Master Gu say, "It's not impossible."
