Sand Dune Park Racecourse, one of the world's most renowned tracks.
Every summer, it hosts classic Horse Girl competing against high-grade Horse Girl.
The Eclipse Stakes is one such competition.
Founded in 1886, the event's name is derived from the legendary Horse Girl, Eclipse.
As one of the most important middle-to-long distance races in Europe, it is said that winning Horse Girl almost always achieve great success in their future careers.
July 6th, 1985, was a Saturday.
By 10 AM, a large crowd had already gathered inside the racecourse.
Discussions buzzed among the people; everyone had a favored and supported Horse Girl in mind.
In the competitor's tunnel, Polaris Absolute Speed was slowly walking towards the track.
She had come out earlier than usual; there were no Horse Girl in front of her, but two were following behind her on both sides.
"Well then, how about we introduce ourselves and get to know each other?"
She spoke, releasing her aura.
"Haha, we all know you, Polaris Glare."
The Horse Girl on her left was the first to respond:
"Let me go first. My name is Rainbow Quest."
Translated, that means – Rainbow Chaser.
On her right, the Horse Girl with an accessory on her left ear also followed after a moment of contemplation:
"Pebbles."
Also translated – Pebble.
Although these two seemed to already know, Polaris Absolute Speed still politely introduced herself:
"Polaris Absolute Speed, but you can just call me Polaris if you like."
"Oh? Is that so? Then Polaris, you can just call me Rainbow. I have a feeling we won't only be on the same track this one time."
"Alright, Rainbow, is it? That's a name with many colorful meanings; it makes one think of beautiful things."
"Oh, oh, thank you, Polaris."
She paused slightly.
"If the coldness you emit during the race could be reined in a bit, I think I could handle it more easily."
"I'm afraid that's impossible. Giving my all is always my style."
The two conversed, while Pebble did not participate, as she had already begun to focus.
"By the way, including us, there are only five Horse Girl competing this year. Why is that?"
Rainbow Chaser feigned confusion:
"It's such an important event, and there are so many spectators…"
Why?
Of course, it's because those who come won't win.
Once the list of competitors was announced, those Horse Girl who weren't confident in their own abilities, those who should avoid the fight and those who should switch tracks, had all already made their moves by now.
Before long, the three arrived on the grass, and the audience uniformly gave them warm applause.
The remaining two senior Horse Girl also entered the track successively, and after the opening horn sounded, they walked together towards the starting gate.
There were no difficulties with entering the gates; everyone seemed to be in good condition.
In this race, Polaris Absolute Speed drew gate number one, Rainbow Chaser gate number four, and Pebble gate number three.
