"My opinion?"
Despite the sudden turn in the conversation, Polaris Glacier still thought about it very seriously.
First, since the other party brought it up, her opinion would likely greatly influence their considerations.
Second, Sirius Symboli said she couldn't make up her mind, which might mean her family had unilaterally decided to send her abroad, and she herself had never thought about such a thing.
If that were the case...
Polaris Glacier's lips, uncharacteristically, didn't curve into a smile, and her steps halted in place, forcing Sirius Symboli to stop as well.
"To be honest, I don't know anything about the situation abroad."
After all, she had never considered going abroad, and no one had ever mentioned it to her.
"Whether it's the track conditions, the surrounding environment, or whether there are opponents to compete with, I know nothing."
"In such a situation, if it were me, I would first prepare myself physically and mentally."
"Of course, the most important thing is to recognize whether the decision to go abroad is truly what you want."
Polaris Glacier's expression was unreadable as she suddenly reached out and grabbed Sirius Symboli's hand, looking into her eyes and tentatively asking:
"Sirius Symboli, what do you think?"
"My thoughts..."
Sirius Symboli was clearly stunned by this situation. Looking at those azure eyes, she slightly parted her lips, appearing to hesitate.
After a moment, she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, and then replied:
"To be honest, if I hadn't met Polaris, if I hadn't witnessed your running, then I might have gone abroad at some point in the future with an indifferent attitude, following my family's wishes."
Feeling the coolness transmitted from Polaris Glacier's hand on her own, the look in Sirius Symboli's eyes had already firmed up:
"But now it's different! I want to run with you on the same track, I want to keep chasing until I surpass you, I want to break through Polaris Glare's chilling aura to reach new heights, I want to let you taste the flavor of defeat too!"
Having said a long passage of words in one breath, Sirius Symboli seemed to have expelled all the frustration in her heart, her face showing pure exhilaration.
"Oh? You're quite bold, aren't you?"
Hearing this, Polaris Glacier already understood the other party's thoughts. While happy for her, she also very cooperatively showed a villainous smile, disdainfully and arrogantly saying:
"Surpass me? Want to make me taste defeat? Just come and try! Watch me crush you and freeze you into ice!"
The two Horse Girl confronted each other in the hallway, drawing curious and bewildered glances from those around them.
"Um... what about me?"
Suddenly, the sleeves of both their arms were gently tugged. Mihono Bourbon, with a very subtle expression, uttered heavy words:
"Don't just forget about me! I can do it too, don't leave me alone!"
Seeing this, Polaris Glacier and Sirius Symboli both shivered, quickly each freeing a hand to pat Mihono Bourbon's shoulder, smiling awkwardly:
"Mihono, relax, how could we forget you?"
"Mihono Bourbon, you are also an excellent Horse Girl. We'll have a race together sometime."
In response to their words, a triumphant smile appeared on Mihono Bourbon's lips. She then took advantage of the situation, grabbed both their hands, and stepped through the middle:
"Honestly, talking about this in the hallway, the passing Horse Girl are giving us strange looks. Let's hurry up and go~!"
Seeing the smile on her face, Polaris Glacier and Sirius Symboli also realized what was happening, exchanged glances, and both smiled as they quickened their pace, resuming their state of walking together.
When they arrived at the classroom the next morning, Sirius Symboli walked over, looking a bit tired, and sighed:
"It's finally settled."
"Sirius Symboli, what are you referring to?"
Polaris Glacier slightly furrowed her brows, feeling like the other party hadn't slept well last night.
"Ah, about going abroad. My family finally relented. They're not going to rush the timing anymore."
Sirius Symboli stood by the table with one hand on her hip, rubbing her brow with the other.
"Last night, I called that Speed Symboli and asked her for help."
Saying this, realizing that Polaris might not know who she was talking about, she explained:
"Speed Symboli, she's like the head of the Symboli family, but to me, she's just an old hag."
"Thanks to her, my family's original plan to send me abroad next June has been changed to considering it the year after next, which is a lot more lenient."
Because of this, she could now focus on training and preparing for races in the coming time.
She really still wanted to run with Polaris on the same track, especially in next year's Classic Race.
"Hearing you say that, it really is a relief."
Polaris Glacier lowered her brows slightly, a thoughtful look flashing in her eyes.
Considering it the year after next, huh...
She wondered if Kumi Trainer had similar thoughts. She'd try mentioning it sometime.
After the afternoon classes ended, Polaris Glacier, Sirius Symboli, and Mihono Bourbon had a long-awaited joint run.
It was still the familiar Polaris Glare's chilling aura, still the powerful final sprint. The latter two were once again defeated.
However, Polaris Glacier was unusually interested, simply because this time, Sirius Symboli and Mihono Bourbon adopted a full-speed sprint strategy from the very beginning.
They completely disregarded their physical exertion, determined to surpass Polaris Glacier, even if only for a brief moment.
Throughout the early part of the race, Polaris Glacier was smiling, because she once again experienced the feeling of being closely pursued by Horse Girl.
But that was only limited to the early part of the race. Not long into the middle section, the two Horse Girl chasing behind both lost speed.
One could only say that sprinting while enduring Polaris Glare's chilling aura was like that, let alone when the distance was very close.
At the finish line, Sirius Symboli and Mihono Bourbon slowly walked across, supporting each other, then suddenly collapsed onto the grass, clearly utterly exhausted.
"Are you two okay?"
Polaris Glacier leaned in, hands on her knees, and asked.
"Hoo-ha... hoo-ha... It's terrible..."
"Can't... completely out of strength to get up..."
Both Horse Girl' ears drooped, and their voices were weak.
"How about I carry you to the infirmary? You don't need to train today, just rest well."
Saying this, Polaris Glacier hoisted one over each shoulder, not bothering with their opinions, and jogged towards the infirmary.
The passing Horse Girl once again cast their gazes, their eyes full of confusion and surprise.
"Hmm? Polaris and them, what's going on?"
Maruzensky and Rudolph Symboli happened to be passing by and were also a bit bewildered by the situation.
What happened here?
