Chapter 10: a slap

It was late at night and the place was quiet. It was raining outside and one could not see one's hand in front of one's face. The stone temple was also dark. Only two fires were flickering, and from time to time there was a crackling sound of burning wood.

The villagers sleep leaning against each other to keep warm and to be able to react to any situation.

Among the group of wanderers, one person kept watch while the others slept.

Zhang Zhiwei was meditating and cultivating his Qi when suddenly he felt a chill that penetrated his bones approaching.

Something is approaching outside.

"Master, I'll go get rid of that thing!" Zhang Zhiwei said in a voice transmission.

"Why deal with it? I know you're anxious, but don't worry!"

Zhang Jingqing still had his eyes closed: "You're here to travel, not to be a hero. The most important thing about traveling isn't 'travel' but 'experience'. Without going through some things, how can you understand people's hearts?"

Hearing this, Zhang Zhiwei remained motionless and continued to meditate.

Soon, the cold and gloomy air was getting closer.

There was a rustling sound outside the door.

The villagers were fast asleep and unresponsive.

Zhang Zhiwei did not respond either.

The martial artist who was on night watch became alert and immediately woke up the bearded man and his brothers around him.

Noticing something was happening outside, the bearded man took out the long knife he had been holding in his arms, and walked to the door with his brothers, crouching down.

Now there was fire in the stone temple, I was in the open and the enemy was in the dark. He did not open the door rashly to go out, but squatted by the door, intending to hit him with a club.

After a long time, seeing that there was no movement outside the door, the bearded man winked at a younger brother next to him.

The younger brother understood what he meant and went to the door. He looked out through the crack and saw a pool of blood.

"Um?!"

The younger brother was a little confused and thought he was dazzled. He wiped his eyes and continued to look, and found that the blood color inside and outside the crack of the door also blinked.

Only then did he discover with horror that the blood-red thing was actually a giant eye.

The owner of the eyes was spying on what was happening inside the door.

The two of them were looking at each other through the crack in the door.

He suddenly retracted his head and was about to shout.

With a loud "boom".

The door panel shattered into pieces, and a huge black-haired claw reached in and smashed his head with a slap.

Blood splattered.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh"

A fishy wind accompanied by snow and wind blew over, and everyone in the stone temple was instantly awakened.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw a huge black shadow squeezing in from outside the door.

The black shadow was ten feet tall, covered with black hair, and fat. It was a huge black bear.

This black bear has an obvious mark: there is a huge wound on its shoulder, as if it was cut by a knife. Half of its body is soaked with blood. At first glance, it looks like the bear is wearing a cassock.

Because the black bear was too big, it got stuck in the door, and its hair rubbed against the door frame, making a harsh tearing sound.

He looked just like a demon about to escape from its trap. How could an ordinary person dare to even think of resisting?

Everyone in the stone temple was terrified and in chaos, crying and trying to escape.

But this stone temple has only one door, and this door was blocked by the black bear, so they were trapped.

There is no need to expect this door to stop the black bear, because in just a few seconds, the black bear has already gotten most of the way in, with only its butt still stuck outside the door.

I'm afraid that in just three or two breaths, they will all squeeze in, and then no one will escape death.

"We can't let this beast in. Chop it up..."

At the critical moment of life and death, the bearded man was the first to react, shouting and rushing forward.

However, his "comrades" were all frightened and trembling, and no one listened to him at all.

In desperation, he could only draw his knife and chop the bear's head.

But the expected scene of bloodshed did not occur.

The bearded man felt his knuckles go numb from the shock, as if he was not chopping a flesh and blood body, but a wall.

At this moment, the black bear, which was chopped on the head, roared in pain and raised its bear paw as big as a winnowing basket to hit the bearded man.

The bearded man's eyes widened, and he had no time to dodge, so he could only hold the knife across his body to defend himself.

All I heard was a "bang".

The bearded man screamed and flew backwards, hitting the wall behind him. He slid down and his life or death was unknown.

“Big Brother!!!”

“Brother!!”

The other brothers of the bearded man exclaimed, and now they dared not go up even more.

The reason why they were willing to follow Big Beard was because he was a martial artist with some martial arts skills, but they never thought that they could not even block a single palm from this terrifying black bear.

This bear is simply beyond human power to resist.

Everyone looked desperate. Some were trembling in the corner, some were babbling incoherently, and some were lying on the ground pretending to be dead.

Most of the black bear's body had already entered the temple. Its blood-red eyes, as big as copper bells, stared greedily at everyone. Smelly saliva dripped from its mouth, as if it was choosing which one to eat first?

The black bear looked around and finally fixed his eyes on Zhang Zhiwei in the corner.

His many experiences of cannibalism told him that the meat of this biped was the best and most delicious.

"Roar!"

The black bear roared suddenly, and with a loud "boom", the door frame of the stone temple collapsed, and the black bear squeezed in completely.

In the firelight, the black bear cast a huge shadow, like an invisible black hand, holding everyone in its hand, slowly tightening, as if to crush them.

Panic swept through the entire stone temple, and no one dared to make a sound.

For a moment, you could hear a pin drop in the stone temple, and only the black bear's huge breathing sound was echoing.

At this moment, they all held the mentality of "I would rather die than let my fellow Taoist die."

There are more than ten people in the stone temple now. The black bear is so small, it can't eat them all, right?

As long as you take the opportunity to slip away when it is eating, there is still a chance of survival.

No one dared to make a sound or move, for fear of attracting the black bear's attention and being eaten first.

For a moment, the atmosphere in the stone temple was very strange. You could hear a pin drop, and only the black bear's huge breathing and footsteps echoed.

After squeezing into the stone temple, the black bear didn't look at anyone else, and pounced on Zhang Zhiwei with a "bang bang bang".

A fishy wind blew in his face. Zhang Zhiwei stopped meditating and stood up. His Taoist robe rustled in the wind. There was nothing he could do. This evil beast had no foresight and actually picked him.

“Roar, roar, roar!”

The huge black bear's eyes were red and bloodshot, and it rushed over with a roar.

Zhang Zhiwei stood there expressionless, like a stone statue, thinking in his heart:

I had misunderstood before. I thought the man-eating bear was a blind bear that was about to become a spirit. I didn't expect it to be a ghost bear.

I encountered a lot of things during this trip. Could it be that I have the legendary disaster-prone physique, and something bad happens wherever I go, or is it that all this is arranged by my master?

While Zhang Zhiwei was thinking, the black bear had already pounced on him.

Seeing that the black bear was about to tear the young Taoist priest to pieces, everyone was furious and felt a sense of grief for the other party.

But at this moment, the Taoist priest who looked frightened moved and slapped the black bear on the head.

“Puff!”

Blood mist gushed out, bone fragments flew everywhere, and half of the black bear's head was smashed to pieces.
