Chapter 10: Murder and Loot

Chapter 10: Murder and Robbery

Two professional killers walked into the community residential building and took the stairs up.

Lucchese chewed gum, took out his pistol, attached a silencer, and said casually: “

“The mission is simple. After we go in, kill anyone who poses a threat. Control those who don’t pose a threat first. I need living people to ask for some information.”

“Okay.”

Frank replied with one word, paused, and then asked, “What if there’s only one person who poses a threat?”

Lucchese smiled and retorted, “One person? Is that a threat?”

Frank silently closed his mouth.

The two arrived at the door of a room.

Lucchese smeared the gum from his mouth over the peephole, then looked at Frank. The latter had already skillfully pulled out a large pair of pliers from a strap on his thigh, gestured towards the door, aiming at the position of the door chain.

The two didn’t speak, communicating with their eyes, and nodded in unison.

Then Lucchese rang the doorbell.

A man’s voice came from inside: “Who is it?”

The drug dealers living here were wary of strangers and wouldn't open the door immediately.

Lucchese cleared his throat, and to Frank’s shock, a woman’s voice came from his mouth.

Lucchese’s voice was sweet and delicate: “Sir, my water pipe is broken. Can I borrow your bathroom to take a shower?”

Frank’s expression was strange.

Would the other party fall for such a low-level trick?

Inside the room, the man asked suspiciously: “Miss, I can’t see you. Can you stand back a bit?”

Lucchese: “I’m only wearing a bathrobe right now, and it’s so cold in the hallway. I just want a hot shower, and then we can find a warm place to talk.”

Man: “Alright, alright.”

Frank: “.”

Then there was the sound of unlocking. The moment the door opened, Frank grabbed the pliers and clamped the door chain. At the same time, Lucchese stepped forward and kicked the door open, his gun instantly aimed at the man’s forehead.

Man: “???”

What the f*ck?! Where was the woman who was only wearing a bathrobe? Why did it turn into a gun-wielding man?

“F*ck! Who exactly are you?”

“Shut up!”

Biu!

The silenced bullet hit the man’s thigh, instantly making him lose most of his combat ability.

Frank closed the door and exchanged glances with Lucchese. The two gestured directions with their fingers, then split up and entered the room to search for other possible enemies.

Soon, another man was dragged out by Frank.

The two men were brought to the living room of the house. There, Lucchese saw a small workshop workbench piled with flour and blue packaging bags the size of disposable gloves.

Lucchese picked up a packaging bag to examine it. This stuff was the same as the blue magic circulating on the market.

However, these two drug dealers were white.

If Lucchese remembered correctly, Frank’s drug family were all his relatives, an entire line of black people.

These two were most likely just “distributors.” After getting Frank’s goods, they would process them a second time to lower the purity, then still sell them under the name of blue magic.

Or, these flours were not Frank’s goods at all, but these drug dealers were impersonating the brand.

Sigh, the underground market’s copyright awareness also needs to be strengthened.

“Don’t kill me! Don’t kill me!” The man kneeling on the ground with his hands on his head kept begging for mercy. Seeing Lucchese observing the flour, he quickly explained, “That’s not my goods. I’m just a custodian. You’ve come to the wrong people.”

“Custody for whom?”

. The man’s face hesitated.

The other person next to him fiercely threatened his companion, “Shut your damn mouth!”

Biu!

Lucchese gave him a flick on the head, moved the gun to the other person, and continued to ask, “Custody for whom? I don’t want to ask a third time.”

With his companion’s corpse, eyes wide open in death, beside him, the man begged in terror, “Stan, it’s Stanfield, please…”

“Oh, then we didn’t come to the wrong place.”

Biu!

Lucchese put away his gun, turned around, put the dozens of kilograms of flour on the table into bags, and picked up his bag, ready to leave.

“Let’s go, Frank, to the next location.”

“Okay.”

Frank looked back at the two corpses. Both had been precisely shot in the forehead by Lucchese.

Lucchese was a very good shot.

【You have killed two criminals (drug trafficking, murder, robbery). You have defended the peace of the community.】

【Gained Skill Points x5】

【Gained Skill Fragments x2】

【Current Skill Fragments: 27】

Lucchese glanced at the numbers on the panel.

He had been able to collect a little bit of fragments every day during this period, and by today, he had accumulated 27 pieces.

The harvest was not bad.

Outside the community, Lucchese drove, taking Frank to the next hiding place.

It was still the old routine: lure, break in, kill, and rob.

The two killers easily plundered one hideout after another. The process was quite easy. Even when encountering hideouts with a larger number of people, the two could cooperate to clear everyone out.

Frank’s killing style was more elegant. He was good at using the environment to hide himself, then surprising his enemies.

Lucchese was much simpler and cruder—he just had accurate aim, good skills, and could move up, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A.

The last hideout was more troublesome. Perhaps they had received news that other hideouts had been wiped out, so many people had gathered here. Just as Lucchese was about to pretend to be a cute girl to lure them out, they just fired a burst through the door.

Fortunately, both of them were hiding behind the walls on either side and were not directly hit by the gunfire.

“Motherf*cker! Come again! If you have the guts, come in!”

The drug dealer’s arrogant roar came from inside the door.

Lucchese pulled out a grenade with his backhand and smiled at Frank, “Old Tony told me you’re good at ring tricks. Can you teach me sometime?”

Frank also pulled out one with his backhand, “Just like throwing a rock: aim, then throw.”

The two pulled the “rings” off their grenades, threw them into the room together, and then, in unison, dove for cover.

Boom!

The explosion, accompanied by intense flames, swallowed everything.

After the explosion, Lucchese slapped his forehead, “Sh*t! My goods weren’t blown up, were they?”

The two waited for a moment, and when they heard no movement inside, they entered the door together and shot a few more bullets into the few people who hadn’t been killed by the explosion.

Fortunately, not all the goods were damaged; a large portion was still intact.

Taking the goods, the two quickly left the scene.

Throughout the entire day, the two raided five hideouts. Lucchese stole goods worth over 10 million, and his skill fragments also accumulated to 54.

The last hideout, Norman’s.

The two returned to the apartment and entered the hallway. This time, Frank hesitated, shook his head, and said, “I won’t do it this time. I don’t kill women and children.”

This was Frank’s principle.

He knew the situation of Matilda’s family, with women and children.

He now also understood Lucchese’s methods and the Mafia’s style, which was extremely ruthless. Matilda’s family couldn’t possibly withstand it.

All he could do was stand by and watch.

“I understand, and I respect your choice.”

Lucchese shrugged, “But I didn’t plan to lay a hand on their family.”

Frank looked at Lucchese with a puzzled expression.

Lucchese smiled and said, “Matilda (Matilda is Norman’s daughter), Matilda and I have a pretty good relationship. I won’t kill her family.”

He wouldn’t kill them himself; he would let Stan kill them, and then he would ambush and hunt down Stan’s group of police officers.

The plan was that simple, achieving multiple goals and even gaining Matilda’s favor.

However, Lucchese had to save Matilda and her brother in advance.

Matilda only cared about her brother; she had long been completely disappointed with the rest of her family.

But now, a series of butterfly effects had been triggered, and so many custodians had died… If Stan didn’t come, if he didn’t take Norman’s bait, it didn’t matter. Lucchese could actively go find him.

Anyway, the goods had already been taken back.

After hearing Lucchese’s words, Frank’s gaze was slightly surprised. He nodded gently, said okay, and then prepared to go home.

“Wait.”

Lucchese pulled out several rolls of crumpled banknotes from his pocket, totaling tens of thousands of dollars. “This is your payment.”

Frank shook his head, refusing to accept: “Thank you, no need. I’ll get paid from Tony.”

He has principles, as expected of the honest man I value! Lucchese asked curiously, “How much did Tony offer you?”

“Five thousand per person.”

.

F*ck! This price almost made Lucchese laugh his head off. He had offered Tony twenty thousand per person!

Damn middleman, making so much profit!

Speaking of which, the income of marginal killers was too low. Lucchese’s mission to kill Stan was worth 1 million… But this was related to the target’s identity and difficulty. Ordinary assassination missions had very low income. The higher-paying ones were targeted bounty missions.

The bounties for heads in the later stages of Night Demon had already reached tens of millions.

“This is extra payment.” Lucchese forcibly stuffed the money to him, “I’m very satisfied with your performance today. You helped me a lot.”

“I didn’t help you much. In fact, with your strength, you could have wiped out those drug dealers by yourself.”

“But I certainly wouldn’t have been that relaxed, Frank. Without you behind me, I wouldn’t have taken such a big risk. Take it. You deserve it.”

.

Frank was silent for two seconds, no longer refusing, and put the money into his pocket.

After so many years as a killer, this was the first time he had received such a large “fortune,” which gave Frank a strange feeling of getting rich overnight.

Before, when he went to Tony for money, that guy always said it was safe to keep it with him, and then only gave him a small amount of money to send him away.

At the time, Frank didn’t care; he only needed a little money to live.

Anyway, he was alone.

What was the use of more money?

But speaking of it, Lucchese seemed much more generous than Tony.

“Next time I have work, I’ll come directly to you. No need to go to Tony.”

“Okay.”

“See you, neighbor.”

Lucchese smiled, opened the door, and turned to enter his own room.

【Bond: Attention】

On the other side, Stan brought a team of anti-drug police to the crime scene.

Seeing the mess and the corpses, Stan seemed to feel cold, nervously tightened his arms, and then relaxed them.

“Death is truly… fickle today.” He took a deep breath, and beneath his calm voice, there was a hint of impending rage.

Who did it, after all?!

People from the Lucchese Family?

“Stan, our goods have all been stolen.” A subordinate stepped forward and said, “The goods of several other custodians have also been stolen, except for Norman.”

This result made Stan’s expression fluctuate, his face gradually twisting.

Stan retorted, “I remember Norman’s goods have already been taken, right?”

“But a portion was missing, and the purity was reduced by 10%. We also had some money disputes when we shipped… The missing portion of the goods was most likely embezzled by Norman.”

“Some people always like to play clever little tricks they think are smart.” Stan waved his hand coldly, “You go find him and get the goods back.”

“Okay.”

“After you get the goods, kill Norman to silence him.”

Stan squatted down, his finger tracing the corpse’s face, “Remember to bring a few more people, prepare plenty of weapons, and be careful… The robbers know who our custodians are, so Norman is probably being watched too.”
