Chapter 1: I remember I was still painting the chess pieces!

(Friendly reminder: This novel is a fanfiction inspired by official warhammer novels. It starts slow, and the author's military knowledge is shallow. Please offer guidance if you find any issues. I will make some modifications to certain strange settings in the official novels. Readers unfamiliar with warhammer can also enjoy it, as I will carefully explain warhammer terms = ̄ω ̄=). The first few chapters are slow, and the author will not change the outcome of the Horus Heresy. The Emperor will definitely sit on the Golden Throne, and Horus will definitely be filled with Chaos until he's a puff. Please be aware.

(This book will adopt various warhammer settings, such as the Primarch's mother, Erda. After all, the author still hasn't figured out whether she's a discarded concept ━━( ̄ー ̄*|||━━. But it doesn't matter, this is my book, and now I am God (○`3′○)).

Earth, second millennium AD.

Outside a board game store in Europe.

A man was hesitating whether to go in and buy some warhammer miniatures. His oriental face attracted the attention of some foreigners.

Those phoenix eyes were somewhat rare to them, but the man continued to ponder, ignoring the stares.

"Should I buy warhammer miniatures or not? But if I buy them, I'll have to paint them myself..." He was a new warhammer enthusiast. Ever since he scrolled past warhammer on his phone, he kept getting recommended related videos.

Eventually, he couldn't resist and came to a board game peripheral store near his home. His name was Qin Xia, a student from Dragon Country studying abroad.

"Seriously weigh it, think hard, what's so good about these broken little figures? Wouldn't it be better to buy third-party figures?" He patted his head, seemingly having made up his mind!

Ten minutes later, Qin Xia walked out of the store, looking down at the box in his hand, his heart filled with regret for his damned consumerism.

"Buy! What I bought are these broken resin figures, this is for loyalty!" Tears streamed from his eyes. He hadn't expected something that looked small to be so expensive!

"How did I get addicted to warhammer?" He swallowed his tears of repentance, throwing large sums of money into the war game store.

He now deeply suspected that it must be evil capital trying to siphon off his already meager comfort money.

As a character with the most classic background in novels—orphan with a car and a house, raised in an orphanage since childhood—Qin Xia was now a university student with early morning classes every day.

All his living expenses came from government support and part-time jobs. As for his part-time job, he chose to work as a KP at a board game store, and it was this job that introduced him to warhammer.

Originally, he only played COC at the board game store, but then, at the recommendation of some players who frequently came to the store for role-playing, he learned about warhammer.

After trying to understand some of the world-building, he was deeply attracted by the stories within.

Since then, his cabinet had accumulated many resin miniatures.

Putting his purchases in the passenger seat, he chewed gum helplessly and turned the key. Instead of complaining about spending money, he might as well go back quickly to paint the miniatures and play Space Marine.

The weather here wasn't very good; it was very foggy and drizzling. Although Qin Xia was used to this climate, he still cursed the dreadful weather in his heart.

"Why did I choose this cursed place to study abroad?" He muttered to himself. For some reason, his sleep quality had been consistently poor recently.

He kept having strange dreams for no reason. In his dreams, he seemed to be soaked in a giant container, and there were always strange whispers in his ears.

To solve this problem, he directly bought a third-party Emperor action figure. To his surprise, after placing that thing by his bed, he actually stopped having nightmares!

Returning home, he picked up his paintbrush. Next, he had to paint the pile of miniatures he had bought. Looking at the various sizes of miniatures in his cabinet, today he had bought Astartes from the Fire Lizard Chapter.

Looking at the descendants of these 'black uncles' in his hand, he sighed. The Fire Lizard Primarch was also a character he liked very much, but that damned budget, to get the 'black uncle' offline, actually had him explode with a warboss.

What Qin Xia couldn't stand the most was that Orks had more than one warboss.

Then I ask you, GW, if you do this, what about your parents?

He heard that the third Primarch was about to return. He wondered if he would live to see the legendary Second Primarch.

Precisely because he was a novice painting miniatures and still dared to let his mind wander, Qin Xia's hand slipped, directly distorting the Fire Lizard's face. Looking at the slightly disheveled Fire Lizard in his hand, Qin Xia was at a loss for words.

After a long moment of thought, he finally squeezed out a sentence: "Damn false Emperor, it must be Old E's big hand that made my painting hand go crooked."

He put the miniature aside. Since it was already ruined, he might as well go play Space Marine 2 to relax.

He rushed to his computer. As he booted it up, Qin Xia completely failed to notice that when he had earlier spoken of the false Emperor, a golden light had flashed in the eyes of the Emperor figure on his bedside table.

Terra, sometime in early M30.

In the Himalayas, on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, a towering structure stood. It was magnificent and housed Terra's most advanced technology and weaponry.

Countless warriors in golden Power Armor patrolled around the structure, which was known to people as the Imperial Palace.

Inside this building, a large golden figure looked troubled at the twenty incubation pods in his laboratory.

A silver-haired old man next to him patted his shoulder, comforting his old friend: "Don't worry, old friend. Since you chose to create these children, give them more confidence."

"No, my eyes have seen a part of the future. Half of these children will betray me." This large golden figure was the master of this Imperial Palace.

His name was unknown to anyone, but everyone would respectfully call him the Emperor, and the silver-haired old man beside him was Malcador the Sigillite.

With the Thunder Warriors purged, the new Primarch project became the Emperor's next move to revive humanity.

However, with his prophetic abilities, he saw that half of the Primarchs would participate in the betrayal, and he also heard the Chaos Gods in the Warp whispering chaotic thoughts into the children's ears.

"Old friend, alright, haven't we already found some solutions?" Malcador looked at the second and eleventh incubation pods.

His old friend in front of him had made a bold decision, actually thinking of projecting the consciousness of these two Primarchs onto ancient Terra first. Although the cost was half of his own psychic power, this decision would surely break the deadlock!

Malcador helped the slightly weary Emperor. Now, this savior of humanity needed more rest.

As the two were about to leave the laboratory, the Emperor suddenly heard the Warp's Four Gods laughing in his ear. He sharply turned his head, only to see a powerful Warp storm erupting within the entire laboratory.

At the center of the storm, Erda, the second immortal beside the Emperor, stared with fury at her once-worshipped object.

She had heard. These children, created with the genetic technology she provided, would be abandoned. She had known this from the four voices from the abyss.

They were her and the Emperor's children, and she would never allow them to suffer even a hint of harm.

The feeling of saving the children made her happy. Looking at the Emperor and Malcador, for some reason, they both seemed to be looking at her with a sorrowful gaze.

"Why are you looking at me like that, my Emperor?"

She reached out, wanting to approach that golden light, yet under the Warp storm she herself had created, everything seemed to become a luxury.

The storm tore apart, and the twenty incubation pods, along with Erda's figure, vanished from here.

Only the laughter of the Four Gods remained. The weary Emperor clenched his fists. He instantly activated his powerful psychic abilities to protect the children from the Warp storm's harm. After he felt each child land on their respective planets, he knew he could not stand still now.

Humanity's greatest crusade in history would now begin!

And Qin Xia, who had just turned on his computer, didn't expect that as soon as he booted up, before even launching Steam, a flash of white light appeared before his eyes. He closed his eyes tightly, feeling his body being swept away by a powerful suction.

Confusion and ignorance momentarily made him lose his mind.

A slightly seductive voice whispered in his ear: "Embrace endless desire! You will be the most perfect offspring."

"What the hell? Perfectionism is so outdated!"

A voice filled with anger rang out: "Then choose power, it will make you stand out among the offspring!"

"Is this some muscle-head? By the way, what's happening to me?"

"Panic and give up! Throw yourself in here and you will find peace." A lazy and foul-smelling voice echoed in Qin Xia's ear.

"Now's not the time to give up! By the way, are you my inspiration?"

The slightly intelligent voice was about to speak, but this blue great bird suddenly noticed that this offspring had no projection in the Warp. It wanted to read Qin Xia's wisdom.

However, at this moment, a golden light burst forth from Qin Xia's body, and instantly, peace appeared around him.

Slowly, he closed his eyes, and just like when he had nightmares before, he fell into a deep sleep.

He didn't know how much time had passed, but he heard a blurry gasp from a man and a woman in his ear: "...He is our son!"

Slightly opening his eyes, Qin Xia looked at the couple dressed in Ming Dynasty (Dragon Country) attire before him and froze.

He reached out and found his hand was like a baby's.

At this moment, his brain crashed. Wasn't I just painting miniatures? Where did this take me?!
