Chapter 6: Everyone is showing off, except me.

Just as Eric said.

A dozen or so skeletons posed no threat to him at all.

Judy peeked out from the side, watching Eric toy with the skeletons.

Eric was very smart.

He didn't choose to confront them head-on, but instead continuously made noise in the graveyard and used obstacles to separate the skeletons.

Whenever one or two skeletons approached Eric, Eric would turn and counterattack.

When the dagger pierced a skeleton, the skeleton would immediately collapse.

Judy was very surprised.

"How did he do that? Didn't he only train for two weeks?"

But soon, Judy deduced the real reason from the patterns on the dagger.

"It's that dagger... instant death effect."

But thinking of this, Judy was even more shocked.

Witches are very knowledgeable about curses.

So Judy knew that the more powerful the effect, the more stringent its usage conditions would be.

The instant death effect was indeed very strong, but if the user's magic power was insufficient, or their magic power control was not strong, a single strike would drain the user's magic power.

In severe cases, it could even endanger their life.

Judy had already counted.

Eric had now killed 7 skeletons, activating the instant death effect 7 times, yet he still showed no signs of fatigue.

"He only trained for two weeks, yet he has such strong magic power control."

What made Judy even more envious was that Eric, after only two weeks of training, dared to face a dozen skeletons, remaining calm and composed, able to fight alongside Uncle Atai'er.

She thought of herself.

She knew there would be no danger in this battle, but just thinking of those skeletons and specters approaching her with their chilling aura scared her so much that she couldn't summon even a bit of magic power.

Thinking of this, Judy once again retreated behind the tree.

But just then, an anxious voice came: "Judy, run!"

Judy suddenly turned her head, and a skeleton, holding a sword, was peeking out from behind the tree.

The skeleton's rotten teeth clattered continuously, soil constantly fell from the large hole where its nose should be, and decaying flesh clung to its face.

Its hollow eyes, glowing with blue flames, stared directly.

Its gaze met Judy's.

"Ah!!!"

Not far away, Eric was also rushing towards Judy.

He had dealt with most of the pursuing skeletons, which allowed him to observe Judy's situation.

He just happened to see the skeleton peeking out.

Moreover, that skeleton not only had demon fire in its eyes but also held a sword, indicating at a glance that it was definitely not on the same level as the skeletons chasing him.

It was an elite monster.

Although he had shouted a warning, Eric was still unsure of the outcome.

He swung his dagger, killing two more skeletons.

Eric changed direction, and hearing Judy's scream, a sense of urgency filled him.

But then—

"Boom!!!"

A ball of light, a mixture of various colors with black and gray as the main body, suddenly exploded in Judy's direction.

The skeleton near Judy was enveloped by the explosion's light before it could even make a sound.

Strange ripples spread out.

All the undead in the entire graveyard fell into a state of paralysis.

Under the influence of this energy, some skeletons even disintegrated directly.

Eric looked around; the skeletons attacking him had broken arms and broken legs, most of them having lost their combat capability.

He swung his dagger, finishing off these skeletons.

Eric looked at Atai'er.

Atai'er swung his twin swords, and transparent blades spread out, instantly clearing out the skeletons in the graveyard.

Only then did Eric realize: "So I'm the only real novice here."

Go on, keep acting.

Also—

Teacher, I want to learn that move you just used.

Atai'er leaped a few times, directly jumping out of the graveyard, and after landing steadily, he waved to Eric and walked towards Judy.

Judy was standing in a daze, staring blankly at her hands.

"How does it feel without a staff?" Atai'er stepped forward and patted Judy's head. "See? You can do it."

Judy's eyes gradually brightened.

Eric walked to Judy's side and looked down at the ground.

That poor skeleton, a rare elite monster in the graveyard.

It was a shame it was instantly killed by one move.

Besides a smoking black silhouette on the ground, only a short sword remained.

Eric picked up the short sword.

【Fine Iron Enchanted Short Sword (Excellent)】

A blue-grade equipment, able to survive the explosion just now, its quality was indeed good.

As expected of an elite monster.

He tucked the short sword into his waistband, secretly taking the spoils of war.

Eric looked at Judy: "That was strong, Judy, what was that move called? You blasted that skeleton into a little black silhouette."

Judy raised her hands, and that eerie light gathered again.

"Behold my Chaos Missile."

Eric quickly raised his hands and said, "I surrender, I surrender."

Atai'er patted both of their heads.

Eric inwardly complained that his teacher was surprisingly persistent about patting heads.

"Teacher, that move you just used, the one that went 'whoosh whoosh whoosh' and cut down a whole bunch. Can you teach me?"

Atai'er had originally intended to praise Eric; in his opinion, Eric had performed really well just now.

But upon hearing the description "whoosh whoosh whoosh" cutting down a whole bunch.

Atai'er felt—

Should he perhaps hit his apprentice?

Sighing, Atai'er patted Eric's head and said, "Gale Slash, it's just right for your magic power. You'll need this skill in the upcoming battles, but—"

Atai'er looked into the distance. Although the sun had already set, with his Level 20 Ranger's dark vision, he could clearly see the distant scenery.

The city wall hidden in the forest.

The magic power vortex constantly gathering above it.

Atai'er's mood became slightly heavy.

"I'll only teach you once. There's no time now, we must hurry over as quickly as possible, alright?"

Eric nodded quickly.

"Draw the sword you just got, and watch carefully."

After instructing Eric, Atai'er drew the short sword from his waist and held it vertically in front of him.

Eric keenly perceived that magic power was gathering on that sword, and some kind of qualitative change was occurring.

The speed of condensation was very slow, and the speed of qualitative change was also very slow.

Eric knew.

His teacher was deliberately slowing down so he could observe and learn.

It took about a minute for this sword strike to be unleashed.

Transparent blades danced in the air, instantly cutting through several tombstones in front and continuously spreading outwards.

"How was it?" Atai'er asked.

Eric raised the Fine Iron Short Sword, gathered magic power, and swung it fiercely.

There was no transparent light blade, but magic power still gathered in the air, and a white trajectory flashed as he swung.

Eric looked at the system panel.

In the skill bar, an additional skill appeared.

【Chop (Novice)】

Atai'er nodded and said, "Not bad. The rest is the transformation of magic power into Wind Element. Practice on the way, remember to conserve magic power, and don't collapse from exhaustion."

"Okay, Teacher."

Eric sighed inwardly; he could feel that he didn't have much magic power left.

Just then, Judy, who was beside him, handed out a test tube. The blue liquid inside the test tube glowed faintly.

"This... I have a magic potion here."
