Looking at Luvia, Xia De touched the corner of his mouth, then said with a smile. Although the three-colored Moonlight entered his eyes, only silver Moonlight was reflected.

“Yes, to the very end, until the soul melts into this world.”
He kissed Luvia’s fingers.
He looked up, and suddenly reached for his neck, taking off the silver pendant Luvia had given him to wear when they parted at the manor. This pendant, made by Luvia herself, was said to bring good luck, and inside it were photos of her deceased parents.
What she had given Xia De was an intact ornament, but what lay in his palm now was a pendant with cracks. Alchemical items do not possess the indestructibility of relics; it had shattered during Xia De’s intense battle with Darkness.
Placing the pendant in his palm, the Moonlight from outside the window made the silver ornament sparkle. Xia De closed his eyes, then slowly inhaled. Some imperceptible air currents entered his nose from the pendant. As if time flowed backward, the pendant returned to its original state.
Xia De gestured for the surprised Luvia to lower her head; he wanted to help her put it back on.
