Chapter 616: wine

"What are you thinking about?"

Miss Jialinna, dressed in a vibrant red long dress across the table, noticed Xia De was distracted and asked with a smile. Restaurant waiters pushed a dining cart over, but the Black-haired maids did not allow them near the table; instead, the Black-haired maids served, as Witches disliked men.

"I'm thinking about something strange."

Xia De said. Besides the cat, there was a box of eyeshadow in an enamel oval tin next to him. The abnormal eye effect caused by the Star Sea Whale's blood brew had long disappeared, and this time, the eyeshadow was not for changing eye color, but to make his face look slightly different. Familiar people would recognize him at a glance, but unfamiliar people would find it hard to connect the two.

She knew Xia De would be adventuring in Middlesburg next, which was why she brought out this "cosmetic" that only Witches could use.

"Miss Jialinna, do you know the Founding Angel?"

The Founding Angel was called Jacquel by "her," but this was spoken in an ancient, unknown language that Xia De couldn't even transliterate; the name itself contained power. This angel was related to Priest Augustus's secret. Although Xia De would not reveal the Priest's secret to others, he was very interested in this angel.

"The Founding Angel? That is, the first angel created by the Ancient Gods at the beginning of the world's Founding. Also known as the Death Angel, or Death Angel. I remember seeing some material; in the early sixth epoch, there was still an organization in Middlesburg that worshipped this angel, but I don't know about now."

The Witch asked curiously:

"Xia De, did you encounter power related to this Founding Angel in that City? The Witch Council's documents record that this angel's power is extremely powerful."

"No, no, I just saw this title when I was recently looking up Middlesburg's information."

Xia De shook his head, knowing that the Witch Council didn't have much information, so he changed the topic:

"Want to see my new spell?"

He smiled and said to the Black-haired maid:

"Please help me ask the restaurant to send an empty wine bottle, it must have contained wine before."

"Pour this out."

Miss Jialinna pointed to the bottle of wine that was decanting at the foot of the table, and before Xia De could object, Tifa actually poured the wine into the ice bucket.

"Hmm."

Xia De always opposed such wasteful behavior, but since Miss Jialinna was rich, he couldn't say much.

Taking the dark wine bottle handed to him by Tifa, Xia De held the bottom with his right hand and the neck with his left, aiming it at the center of the table, at the plate of fruit that was probably for decoration.

Inside were apples, grapes, pears, and two cherries. There were actually three just now; the other one was fed to Mia by Xia De.

His left hand slightly rotated the bottle neck. To Miss Jialinna's great interest and the surrounding Black-haired maids' surprised gazes, those fruits actually turned into bright red liquid and flew into the bottle.

This speed was very fast. As soon as all the fruits disappeared, Xia De immediately took the cork and stoppered the wine bottle. He held the bottle upright and gently shook it, and some blood-colored halos flashed across the bottle.

"Alright."

Xia De handed the wine bottle to Tifa, who pulled out the cork and poured some for Xia De and Miss Jialinna. The red liquid looked crystal clear, with no impurities inside whatsoever, and when still, the surface was more pretty than any ruby.

"It smells good."

The Red-haired Duchess shook her wine glass, then gently sniffed, and then looked at Xia De with a smile:

"Your wine-making ability is really good, but can fruit wine use so many mixed fruits?"

"You can taste it."

Xia De ignored the cat scratching him, wanting a share to taste, and gently took a sip of the blood-red fruit wine in his glass—the wine produced by this ability could only be blood-red.

The taste of the mixed fruit wine was unexpectedly very good, but Xia De was not a professional sommelier, so he couldn't say exactly how good it was.

"Oh, this taste reminds me of the 1752 vintage first-grade wine from Roselle Winery, and that bottle of Fleming's century-old cellar reserve I received for my sixteenth coming-of-age ceremony."

Miss Jialinna was not at all stingy with her praise, which Xia De could have anticipated, as the God of Vampires practically had "I have great taste" written all over his face.

Jialinna Cavendish gave Xia De a rare, sweet smile:

"Knight, where did this spell come from?"

"Obtained from the being who hosted the wine party."

The key itself was given by Miss Jialinna, so Xia De didn't hide it, but he didn't explain in too much detail, as the blood brew spell was truly too terrifying.

"You truly always surprise people. I think even if the Witch Emperors saw you, they probably wouldn't easily kill you, but would imprison you in a room deep within their palace."

She gently shook her wine glass, letting the gradually deepening red wine swirl within it:

"This wine is truly good, Knight. In return for you providing this fine wine, I allow you to make one reasonable request of me. Yes, anything."

Her golden eyes watched Xia De with a smile. Xia De thought for a moment:

"If convenient, please help me find a special blood again. This is what troubles me most recently."

"This request is truly unromantic."

She said with a slight reproach. A faint smile appeared on Tifa's face, who stood beside them, and the surrounding Black-haired maids all pretended not to hear.

Xia De held his wine glass in one hand and stroked the cat under his hand with the other, saying playfully:

"I did think about tasting this fine wine from your lips, but our relationship doesn't seem to have reached that point yet, and it's very unhygienic."

"Oh, really?"

The Red-haired Witch raised an eyebrow, then handed the wine glass in her hand to Tifa, who was beside her.

The Black-haired maid, wearing a heavy maid's dress, bowed slightly and took the wine glass. Three Black-haired maids walked to Xia De's side, lining up to block any potential other views.

Tifa stood upright by the table, narrowed her eyes, tilted her head slightly, opened her red lips, and took a small sip, but there was no swallowing motion in her throat. A blush appeared on both sides of her cheeks. She held the glass, smiled at Xia De, and then placed the glass on the table.

Under her mistress's gaze, Tifa walked towards Xia De with the mouthful of wine, coming between Xia De and the three Black-haired maids blocking the view.

The Red-haired Witch smiled as she watched the two, while Tifa lowered her head to look at the seated Xia De. In her dark brown eyes, besides shyness, there was a strange smile.

In short, this dinner was quite interesting.

(Mia running.)

It wasn't until Xia De woke up on Tuesday morning and went downstairs in his slippers to get the newspaper that he realized he hadn't taken a gift from the god's gift box this week.

So, before breakfast, he moved the box from the basement to the second floor, and after carefully washing his hands, he cautiously reached into the box.

As expected, this week's gift was also an ordinary item. But this time, the gift finally had some value: it was a brand new, very sharp short dagger, which Xia De pulled out, sheathed.

Black coarse rope was woven around the hilt for anti-slip, and the blade seemed to have just been maintained; he could even smell the oil.

This was undoubtedly a delicate weapon that could truly be used to harm people, very practical for Xia De, but as a gift for a "child," it seemed a bit inappropriate. However, Xia De later thought that perhaps in the eyes of that God, there might be children who enjoyed physical training from a young age and would like this kind of delicate weapon.

"This week's task is... to use this knife to practice swinging 100 times for three consecutive days?"

Xia De transformed the very sharp knife into a toy with a napkin at hand and threw it onto the table:

"It seems the era when the God made the god's gift box was truly full of martial virtue."

Because Priest Augustus had been rescued, Dorothy and Doctor Schneider did not come to Saint Delan Square Six again. But Luvia still needed to install her complex stargazing equipment on the third floor, which almost turned this purple-eyed girl into a mechanic. Fortunately, due to overtime during the "Great City Player 1853" period in the past few weeks, she could take a few days off recently, so she also had time to come to Xia De's place.

She still had to return to the association for work after lunch, but the distance between the two was not far.

Luvia arrived shortly after breakfast. After Xia De asked her to look after Mia, who didn't want to go to Middlesburg with him to see the big mountains, he also gave her the new special currency, the 【Upright Coin】, which he had bought from the Ring術士 black market in Middlesburg.
