Chapter 4: Out of order?

The young woman wore a long blue dress, her smooth long hair fluttering in the wind; even amidst the turbulent wind magic currents, her demeanor remained incredibly serene and elegant, like an ethereal sprite.

At a distance of a hundred meters from the great hall, the slender young woman gracefully landed, her footsteps light.

She walked towards the great hall, her delicate features devoid of any expression.

Keltia gripped the divine record tightly, her fingertips white.

Although Grovier’s fate had been sealed the moment the judgment was pronounced, it was still difficult to accept when this moment appeared before her eyes.

She lowered her head, her body trembling slightly, lacking the courage to face her friend, who was like a walking corpse.

She still remembered the first time she met her was in...

“Tiya.”

A soft call interrupted Keltia’s memories.

Keltia was slightly startled, thinking she had imagined it.

Until that familiar voice sounded again: “Tiya?”

Keltia suddenly looked up, meeting Grovier’s slightly puzzled gaze.

“Grovier, are you really Grovier?” Keltia’s surprised expression held a hint of doubt.

Grovier blinked upon hearing this, not understanding Keltia’s meaning.

Seeing Grovier’s reaction was completely normal, Keltia’s gaze shifted to Grovier’s fair, snow-white neck.

Nothing!

No Shackles of Servitude!

What was going on?

Keltia stood frozen in place.

Soon, she thought of a possibility.

She asked, “Have you seen Ron Leinter?”

Grovier thought for a moment, then nodded slightly.

So that’s it.

Keltia showed a look of realization and said, “He still has some conscience; he dissolved the engagement.”

She believed that Ron Leinter’s timely dissolution of the engagement was why Grovier was not implicated in the kingdom’s downfall.

Although that guy didn’t return as promised, he at least fulfilled his promise.

This dissolved most of her resentment towards Ron Leinter.

She planned to wait here a little longer, and once Ron Leinter, wearing the Shackles of Servitude, appeared, she would have Charles grant him a dignified end.

However, she didn’t notice the hint of an unusual expression in her friend’s clear eyes beside her.

If she knew that the engagement had not actually been dissolved, her expression would surely be very interesting.

Inside the great hall, Charles’s face showed triumph when he saw Grovier appear.

Although the blessing bestowed by the God of Radiance was not as desired, as long as this woman was here, it didn’t matter.

As long as he spent some time and focused on cultivating this woman, he believed that the Emerald Kingdom would surely be the ultimate victor of the third War of the Gods.

Just as he was thinking this, he noticed that the woman was not walking towards him, but had stopped beside Keltia, and the two were chatting.

“???”

What did this mean?

Not only was the blessing greatly discounted, but he couldn’t even command his slave anymore?

Charles was about to loudly order Grovier to kneel before him, but his sharp gaze noticed that Grovier had no Shackles of Servitude on her neck.

Listening closely to their conversation, he then understood that the King of the Rah Kingdom had dissolved the engagement.

Damn it!

Charles gnashed his teeth.

Everyone said that the King of the Rah Kingdom was a selfish villain; to prevent him from dissolving the engagement, he had specially ordered rumors to be spread, pointing to Grovier’s secret meeting with the Emerald Kingdom and plotting treason, causing the King of the Rah Kingdom to lose trust in her.

The plan went very smoothly; good news even came last night that the King of the Rah Kingdom had fallen out with the Radiant Church Saintess.

Yet that scoundrel actually dissolved the engagement at this critical juncture.

“How dare you play me, I will definitely make your life worse than death!”

Fierce anger burned in Charles’s eyes.

He sat on the throne in the great hall, quietly waiting for Ron Leinter to arrive.

However, an hour passed, and Ron Leinter still had not arrived.

After waiting another half an hour, Charles couldn’t sit still.

He realized something: could that scoundrel already be dead?

Uncertain of his guess, he walked up to Keltia and questioned, “Your Excellency Saintess, the Emerald Kingdom has defeated the Rah Kingdom, and the blessing has been bestowed, why are the Rah Kingdom royalty unresponsive to my commands? Please give me an explanation.”

“What is there to explain? No one can resist the command of the Shackles of Servitude except through death,” Keltia said coldly.

She asked, “Can you sense the presence of the Shackles of Servitude?”

Charles shook his head.

He hadn't sensed it from the beginning.

“Then isn’t the answer obvious?” Charles’s feigned ignorance annoyed Keltia.

“He’s dead? How could this be…”

Charles clenched his fists, unwilling to accept it.

Keltia also didn’t quite understand why Ron Leinter would die.

Didn’t he flee the palace to survive?

Sighing, Keltia opened the divine record, intending to add a note for this fallen King.

“Hmm?”

Keltia’s brows suddenly furrowed in confusion.

Why?

Why couldn’t she write it down?

No matter how the quill moved across the divine record, she couldn’t write “deceased” or a similar word after the name “Ron Leinter.”

Why was this happening?

Could he still be alive?

As soon as this thought emerged, Keltia immediately shook her head.

He couldn’t possibly be alive; no one could resist the Shackles of Servitude.

Unable to find an answer, Keltia had no choice but to put away the divine record for now and look at Grovier, who seemed lost in thought; this simple-minded friend truly couldn’t let go of that person.

She knew that Grovier harbored some feelings for Ron Leinter, even though Ron Leinter had only impulsively made the engagement in his youth and had never visited Grovier, his fiancée, after the engagement.

But he did indeed rescue Grovier from a bleak childhood; due to her status as the Prince’s fiancée, Grovier’s treatment in Duke Graham’s mansion greatly improved.

Grovier felt grateful to him, and Keltia couldn’t say much; she could only console her, “You have done enough for him, and he must have acknowledged your repayment. You don’t need to feel guilty.”

Grovier came back to her senses, looked at the worried Keltia, and gently shook her head, indicating that she was fine.

Her daze was indeed because of the matter of “Ron Leinter’s death.”

But it wasn’t sadness, but surprise.

No one knew better than her whether Ron Leinter was dead or alive, given the fresh symbiotic contract they had just signed.

She was very curious how Ron Leinter managed to resist the Shackles of Servitude bestowed by the gods without dying.

“Let’s go,” Keltia said.

Grovier nodded.

“You are not allowed to leave!”

The Emerald Kingdom soldiers blocked their path.

Charles walked over and said in a chilling tone, “She is an enemy general; I cannot let her leave. Your Excellency Saintess, surely you wouldn’t betray your duty for personal gain, would you?”

“The Rah Kingdom has already fallen; she is no longer a person of the Rah Kingdom. My intervening to protect my friend does not count as betraying my duty,” Keltia said calmly.

After speaking, she forcefully led Grovier away.

Charles’s face was grim, his right hand on his sword hilt; he hesitated repeatedly but ultimately did not try to stop them.

Leaving the palace, Keltia asked, “Where do you plan to go next?”

Where to go next?

Grovier’s eyes were somewhat lost.

She had waited at the secret passage exit, originally intending to leave with Ron Leinter.

But seeing that Ron Leinter had no intention of taking her with him, she signed a symbiotic contract with Ron Leinter through the marriage contract.

Either die together, or become slaves together.

This was the boldest decision she had ever made in her life, and it was also a way of repaying the King and the The Great Prince for their care.

She also roughly knew in her heart that she would probably die.

So she returned to the palace, wanting to see her few friends one last time.

As a result, a third situation occurred.

After the Rah Kingdom was declared fallen, Ron Leinter, without dying, actually avoided the shackles of the Shackles of Servitude.

And she was also not bound by the Shackles of Servitude, which she found very incredible.

“I want to go to the Magic Capital, Moraguen, to further my studies in magic.”

Grovier answered after careful consideration.

Before that, she wanted to see that person again.

Keltia did not know what Grovier was thinking, only smiled with relief.

Grovier could finally break free, like a bird escaping its cage and soaring through the vast sky.
