Chapter 7: Make a deal

"Really? Really?"

Videl excitedly followed along. He had just returned to his apartment when the Dean rushed over again to tell him there was hope, so he immediately followed. He also believed the Dean wouldn't play such a silly joke.

"Did you remember her name? I told you."

"I remembered, hurry up..."

"She seems to have amnesia, don't provoke her anymore."

"Alright."

The two talked as they walked, striding quickly towards the Academy Medical Office.

Videl was mainly afraid that the other party wouldn't agree, and since she was in an amnesiac state, he wouldn't take advantage of her or try to get a cheap deal. His main concern was not knowing her personality.

"Are you sure she's foolish? Are you certain? Doesn't she know the value of this grass?"

"It's hard to say. She knows what it is, but she doesn't seem to know its value. She stated that the grass can cure illnesses, but she probably doesn't know that it can cure all kinds of diseases, because she said it was just a few stalks of grass..."

The Dean explained calmly, but this shocked Videl immensely.

"A few... a few stalks? I can't afford it even if I pour all my wealth into it..."

"Anyway, there is some. Be careful not to say anything offensive."

"Don't worry."

When the two arrived at the Medical Office and opened the door, they saw Aiersi sitting on the bed, on the verge of tears.

Upon hearing the door open, Aiersi's consciousness instantly left the Communication Realm, while Xiao Huang stood with her arms crossed, looking ready to watch a good show.

"Dean, you're here. This is..."

Aiersi immediately got into character. Her originally calm eyes now looked at Videl, who was behind the Dean, with some curiosity.

"My good brother Videl. He's the one who needs the Tian Ling Grass. As for the conditions, you can name whatever you want, as long as it's within our capabilities."

The Dean introduced him, not forgetting to pat Videl's back, signaling him to take over the conversation.

"Hello, Miss Aiersi. I'm here to make a deal with you. If you sell the Tian Ling Grass to me, I will not only give you satisfactory compensation but also owe you a favor."

Aiersi saw how polite the other party was, but she didn't know the inside story, so she wanted to be careful.

"I... I can give you the grass, but I want to know why you need it."

"It's a family matter, so I'll keep it short. This item is to save my daughter. As long as you're willing to exchange, nothing is a problem."

"Uh... I'd like to know what's wrong with your daughter..."

"It's fine to tell you, anyway, you're not the only one who knows. My daughter's name is Weifuna. A year ago, she developed a strange condition. At first, she only mentioned that using magic was a bit difficult, but later we found out it was more than that. Within half a year, using magic became increasingly difficult, and she also felt stiffness in her limbs. After a Holy Healer examined her body, they discovered tiny ice crystals scattered throughout her body. The Healer confirmed that these were her powers condensed. After learning the situation, we tried to extract these things from her body or control their melting, but for some reason, these ice crystals, despite being her power, didn't obey her control. Trying to extract them resulted in a fatal outcome, because to extract them, we would have to remove the tissues and blood vessels along with them. If they were all removed, she would die. These ice crystals not only adhered to various parts of her body but completely spread throughout her body after half a year. Now she can only lie on the bed, barely clinging to life. No one knows what this condition is, but some people say that Tian Ling Grass might be effective, after all, it's a medicinal herb that can cure all kinds of intractable diseases. Everyone knows its effects."

Aiersi nodded after listening to his narration, but everyone knew that whatever an unfamiliar person said was useless; people might not believe it. If it weren't for Xiao Huang confirming that the other party hadn't lied, she really wouldn't have believed him.

Xiao Huang's strength was formidable, and her scope of investigation was wider. She had been observing them ever since the Dean and his group entered the forest, listening to everything they said.

And after receiving Xiao Huang's confirmation, Aiersi relaxed and laughed heartily: "Alright, this grass is useless to me anyway, I'll just give it to you."

"Wait... giving it away is not good, I can't accept it."

Videl's heart trembled violently after hearing this. He hadn't expected such a precious item to be given away directly. This was simply unacceptable.

"Huh? Can't I give it away? Why can't you accept a stalk of grass?"

Aiersi looked at him with a puzzled expression. It wasn't that she didn't know the value of the item, but that she wanted to maintain her current childlike personality as much as possible. It wasn't difficult, she just needed to follow her body's mindset, because after it transformed into a girl, her personality also became a bit strange.

Videl gave a wry smile: "My dear young lady, please be reasonable. At least make a request..."

"This... I can't think of anything..."

Aiersi scratched her head anxiously. Suddenly, as if she had thought of something, she spoke with a hint of embarrassment.

"As long as... you agree to one condition of mine, this grass will be yours."

"What condition?"

Both of them were now eagerly awaiting Aiersi's answer.

"I..."

Aiersi fidgeted with her fingers, pondered for a moment, and then said faintly: "I haven't studied much, so..."

"Don't worry, your tuition fees are waived. There are no vacancies in the academy dormitory, so you can stay at Videl's place."

The Dean agreed without thinking, and then nudged Videl, who immediately took over the conversation.

"As for you staying at my place, you don't have to worry about any expenses. Just tell me what you need."

"Uh..."

Aiersi was helpless. She really wasn't short of money, and saying she hadn't studied much was even more absurd. At most, she was here to understand the imprints of this world. But there was a reason why the other party was so straightforward, because these expenses were far more than the value of this Tian Ling Grass.

One stalk could fetch a hundred million gold coins, which could be said to be several years of expenses for a wealthy family...

Suddenly, Aiersi seemed to think of something and asked:

"Wait, do you need it now?"

"What's wrong? Or are you not satisfied with these conditions?"

"Can you give me some time to calm down?"

"Calm down?"

Videl was about to say something else, but the Dean pulled him out and closed the door.

Outside the door, Videl looked at the Dean, who had pulled him out, in a daze.

"Hey, what are you doing? We were almost successful."

"Shh... I just feel like she's a bit strange."

The Dean furtively took out his badge and looked at Videl with a smile...

Inside the Medical Office:

"Oh dear... what should I do? It's come to this point. Is this grass really that valuable? No, it's not right to swindle them like this, I'll feel bad. Although it's very effective when sick, it shouldn't be that valuable. Oh dear... what should I do? Why is it so hard to just find a place to study? This can't go on..."

Aiersi's words were overheard by the two old men who had passed through the wall nearby.

"See? I told you she doesn't know its value. Don't overthink it, she's already foolish. If it were before, it might have been fine, but now, don't even think about it. She's probably just afraid that using the grass to trick us will be difficult to resolve."

"I probably overthought it."

The Dean saw Videl leave through the wall, hesitated for a moment, and then also left through the wall...
