Chapter 31: Who do you say is a bootlicker?

Composing himself, Lu Xuan got up from the bed.

Zhao Qin was still tightly covered by the quilt, his body occasionally twitching, like a quail scared out of his wits.

Lu Xuan didn't even glance at him, walking straight out the door.

The express delivery station was near the East Campus of Yanjing University, only about a ten-minute walk.

As Lu Xuan walked, his mind was still planning his next moves.

Gu Yunxi was just the beginning; there were still many "old acquaintances" waiting for him to visit at Yanjing University.

As for Su Wanqing, who was connected to Zhao Qin… a deputy mayor, that was somewhat interesting.

Upon arriving at the entrance of the station, as his mother had said, there were quite a few people, and a long queue had formed in front of the pick-up window.

Lu Xuan walked to the back of the line, casually browsing on his phone.

However, just as the line slowly moved forward, a fashionably dressed girl with delicate makeup walked to the very front as if no one else was there, directly calling out her pick-up code to the window.

She had a look of entitlement on her face, as if queuing had nothing to do with her.

Lu Xuan raised an eyebrow.

In his previous life, he lived a stifled existence, often having to swallow his anger for survival.

But now, with the system and power, he wouldn't give face to anyone or tolerate anyone's bad temper.

Especially these self-righteous types.

"Hey, Student,"

Lu Xuan's voice carried a hint of nonchalance, yet it clearly reached the girl's ears, "Didn't you see everyone else is queuing?"

The girl was waiting for the staff to find her item and, hearing him, impatiently turned her head to glance at him.

That look carried an air of condescending arrogance, as if Lu Xuan were some meddlesome fly.

"Who are you?"

She rolled her eyes, "Did I cut in front of you? What's it to you?"

With that, she even looked at the few silent Students in front of her, her tone becoming even more arrogant: "The people in front haven't said anything, so who do you think you are? Meddling where you don't belong!"

The Students queuing around them either lowered their heads to play on their phones or had flickering eyes, but not a single person spoke up to support Lu Xuan, nor did anyone criticize the girl for cutting in line.

They all seemed to have become transparent, adopting an attitude of 'it's none of my business.'

This numbness and indifference sent a chill through Lu Xuan's heart, but it also strengthened his resolve to no longer hide his sharp edge.

Lu Xuan smiled, a very cold smile.

He slowly walked in front of the girl, looking down at her.

The oppressive aura emanating from him made the girl a little uneasy, but she still forced herself to stand firm, puffed out her chest, and adopted a victim's posture: "What? Do you want to bully a girl in public? Everyone is watching!"

"Bully you?"

Lu Xuan chuckled lightly, raised his hand, and spat "Ptooey" at the girl's forehead.

The spittle landed precisely on the girl's smooth forehead, sliding down her brow.

The girl instantly froze, the arrogance on her face congealed, replaced by unbelievable shock and humiliation.

"You bitch, never been hit before, have you?"

Lu Xuan's voice was very soft, but in the silent station, it sounded exceptionally clear.

Before the girl could react, Lu Xuan raised his hand, and with a crisp "smack," he slapped her hard across the face.

The slap was forceful; the girl stumbled, half of her cheek instantly swelled red, and a trace of blood even seeped from the corner of her mouth.

"Can you queue properly from now on?"

Lu Xuan grabbed her hair, forcing her to look up at him, his eyes chilling.

The intense pain from her scalp made the girl completely break down, and tears instantly gushed out.

She no longer cared about her image or dignity, pleading with a sobbing voice: "Yes! Brother, I was wrong, can you let go? It hurts…"

"If you know it hurts, then don't do such shameless things again!"

Lu Xuan slapped her again, this time on the other side of her face.

The crisp sound echoed through the station once more.

The girl covered her burning cheeks, her body trembling, her lips quivering, nodding repeatedly: "I know I was wrong, Brother, I won't dare again, I really won't dare…"

Lu Xuan released her hair, took out his phone, and with a "click," took a photo of her swollen, tear-streaked face.

"I remember you,"

He put away his phone, his tone warning, "If you cut in line again, just see if I'll slap you!"

"If you know you're wrong, then get to the back of the line."

Lu Xuan pointed to the end of the queue.

The girl dared not say another word, covering her face, crying as she ran to the very back of the line, her face as red as a monkey's bottom, whether from pain or shame, it was hard to tell.

She lowered her head, took out her phone, and with trembling fingers, opened a contact, sending a sobbing voice message: "Brother Feng… I was beaten at the express station… come quickly…"

In the express station, everyone watched as if they were seeing a free movie; no one came forward to mediate, nor did anyone express dissatisfaction with Lu Xuan's actions, and not even one person criticized the girl for cutting in line.

They just watched silently, their expressions complex, with surprise, schadenfreude, and also the indifference of 'it's none of my business.'

Lu Xuan ignored these gazes, gave his pick-up code, and successfully retrieved his package.

He weighed the document bag in his hand, thinking of his mother, and his eyes softened a few degrees.

He turned to walk out of the station, and just as he stepped over the threshold, he saw several boys glaring menacingly, blocking the entrance.

The one in the lead had dyed yellow hair, an unknown tattoo on his arm, and a fierce expression.

And the girl who had been slapped twice was hiding behind them, pointing at Lu Xuan, her eyes filled with venom and triumph.

"It's him! Brother Feng, he's the one who hit me!" the girl shrieked.

The yellow-haired man stepped forward, sized up Lu Xuan, and seeing that he wasn't particularly bulky, a look of contempt immediately appeared on his face.

"Kid, you're pretty arrogant, huh?" He tilted his neck, his joints making cracking sounds, "You dare to touch my Brother Feng's woman in school? Are you tired of living?"

Lu Xuan looked at these aggressive individuals, then at the girl hiding behind them with a smug, villainous expression, and a mocking arc curved on his lips.

"You're the simp she found?"

Lu Xuan's gaze calmly swept over the yellow-haired man, his tone as calm as if he were asking for directions, "What, want to stand up for your master?"

"Who are you calling a simp?!"

The yellow-haired man was hit where it hurt, enraged, he waved his fist, "I'm her boyfriend! Enough nonsense, kneel down and apologize to me, and then hand over all the medical expenses, emotional damages, and whatever else, and I'll let you off today!"

"Kneel? Apologize?"

Lu Xuan seemed to have heard the biggest joke, the sarcasm on his face deepening, "Just with you lot of broken gourds and cracked dates?"

He took a step forward, the aura emanating from him suddenly changing, like a dormant beast, instantly locking onto the few people in front of him.

"Want to play?" Lu Xuan looked at the yellow-haired man, his eyes cold, "Grandpa will play with you properly today."
