Chapter 3: Evil Speedrunning Gameplay

Following Mo Di's will, the bloodstained book glowed with an eerie red light.

Twisted characters came alive on the pages, leaping off the paper… literally.

The animated characters, carrying De Wei An's knowledge, eagerly rushed towards Mo Di.

Each time a character was absorbed by him, a new piece of information appeared in his mind.

"Greta's Blood Feast Meditation Method, Essentials of Blood Healing, Sinful Blood Thorns, Crimson Ritual… Enough, stop for a moment."

Mo Di gasped, barely enduring the intense pain of his brain being bombarded with knowledge.

This was far more stimulating than pulling all-nighters studying for finals.

Only when the throbbing in his brain subsided did he review the mass of Blood Mage theories he had just received, sighing, "That De Wei An is truly underhanded, hiding so many good things. Look at what she taught us apprentices? Nothing but defective goods!"

That being said, when he learned of the spells De Wei An hadn't had a chance to cast, he was secretly a little relieved.

If he had really been dragged into her familiar tactics, Mo Di would surely have been worn down to death.

Most Blood Mages are adept at prolonged battles, draining their enemies' blood while absorbing it themselves. Who could withstand that?

Fortunately, Mo Di didn't give her the chance, taking her out in one swift move.

After organizing the forcefully injected Blood Mage theories, Mo Di repeated the process three times, consuming the entire Blood Mage gift package left by De Wei An.

Although he was still a Blood Mage apprentice, he now possessed a complete set of Transcendent-level Blood Mage textbooks.

"Teacher, I will surely make the Greta school flourish. You can rest assured… Oh, you can rest assured accompanying me as a book page."

He dusted himself off and left the sacrificial grounds, heading straight for the Nabolei Underground Tomb's storage room.

Unless one is particularly familiar with a certain spell or has mastered the 【Spellcasting Without Materials】 specialty, most mages require corresponding spellcasting materials to cast spells.

Mo Di was very familiar with several of his commonly used spells, but less so with others. To use certain spells and rituals, he needed the aid of spellcasting materials.

The storage room could largely meet his needs.

Casually knocking down a few decaying corpses guarding the door, Mo Di swaggered into the storage room and began to pick and choose.

"Ghost Skin, Crow Hag Feather… Wait, what is this?"

Rubbing a palm-sized object that seemed to be a scale, he subconsciously cast an Appraisal spell on it.

A profound sense of age washed over him, and the roar of some creature echoed in his ears. He stood there stunned, his heart skipping a beat.

When he recovered, he couldn't suppress the excitement in his heart, his gaze filled with eagerness as he looked at the scale.

"There's no mistake, a dragon scale. This must be a dragon scale."

He didn't know where De Wei An had gotten the dragon scale from, perhaps dug from a dragon tomb, or obtained from the Dragon Worship Cult.

In any case, this dragon scale now benefited Mo Di, causing several grand plans to pop into his mind.

"Ah, I have an idea." He clapped his hands and immediately returned to the sacrificial grounds.

Memories of a certain ritual surfaced in his mind, and he was eager to test his idea.

At the edge of the Blood Pool, Mo Di retrieved paper and pen, and, following the contents in his memory, wrote furiously on the paper.

Stroke by stroke, the ritual named 【Ancient Blood】 gradually took shape.

"Roughly, like this, right?" Mo Di looked at the contents on the paper, then recalled them again, confirming there were no errors.

This ritual was actually something that would only be encountered in the later stages of the initial world's plot, currently lying in some ruins.

Its purpose was singular: to activate the 【Ancient Blood】 possessed by the ritual's host.

And Ancient Blood was the highest crystallization of an ancient civilization on the continent of Eternity, granting its possessor the ability to freely travel between other planes, similar to a Planeswalker.

Mo Di knew that his self-designed character who transmigrated was the possessor of Ancient Blood. If he followed the original plot, he would encounter this ritual later and gain the ability to travel to other worlds.

Thanks to having been stuck at that point in the plot, re-loading countless times, he still remembered this ritual clearly.

'The 【Ancient Blood】 ritual, besides the magic circle and incantation, also requires a sacrifice related to time and space as a guide, and I just happen to have one on hand.'

Rubbing the dragon scale in his hand, many dragon-related memories flashed through Mo Di's mind.

'Dragons are essentially fragments of the Time-Space Dragon God, so their scales are naturally related to time and space.

I originally thought I'd have to wait for the dragon disaster to erupt before I could possibly acquire one, but I didn't expect my dear teacher to have already prepared it.'

She really… I could cry.

Thinking of having just attended his teacher's funeral, he could barely suppress the upward curve of his lips.

Lowering his eyelids, he took several deep breaths, calming himself while adjusting his state.

Once sufficiently adjusted, he emptied the Blood Pool and drew the ritual magic circle.

'Whether I can speedrun this evil path depends on whether this ritual succeeds.'

Placing the dragon scale on the stone platform, Mo Di also walked to the ritual host's position and stood firm.

Accompanied by a strange intonation, he began to chant a peculiar incantation.

The ritual began to operate, magic connecting him to the magic circle and the sacrifice. The dragon scale on the stone platform also emitted faint glows, gradually merging into the magic circle.

At the host's position, Mo Di sensed a certain power, connected to him through the magic circle, seeping into his body drop by drop.

Stimulated by this, something dormant within him also began to stir, an unusual hot current flowing through his entire body.

This was a sign of the Ancient Blood activating. Mo Di ignored it and continued to chant the ritual incantation.

Soon after, he finished reciting the entire incantation.

The ritual was on track and no longer required his hosting.

He only needed to stay put and wait for the Ancient Blood to be fully activated.

One minute, three minutes, five minutes… Nearly half an hour passed before the raging blood in his body gradually calmed.

At this moment, he was like a cooked shrimp, his skin red, steam rising from his body.

"Fortunately, it still worked. Any later, I would have worried about whether I'd die from the heat."

Mo Di shed his black robe, baring his upper body to help dissipate the heat.

Closing his eyes, he felt a power entirely different from magic. This power was integrated into his blood, flowing through his blood vessels to all parts of his body.

'Ancient Blood… Sure enough, just like in the game, it not only gave me the ability to explore other worlds but also improved my physical fitness.'

Now, he could sustain Transcendent-level book pages for a longer time; he was no longer the three-minute man he once was.

"By the way, am I not a mage? Constantly adding points to constitution, is this right?"

If this continued, he would eventually become a melee mage, even though this was not his intention.

Therefore, while the Ancient Blood was still locating other worlds, he had to seize the time to make up for the missing Blood Mage theories.

He would start with 【Essentials of Blood Healing】.
