Chapter 182: #182 - The Origin of Cthulhu Batman

Shimizu raised an eyebrow and pointed to Harvey Dent beside him.

"You trust me that much? You think I won't become a part of the darkness as well, just like this guy?"

Batman remained silent.

Shimizu knew that this guy had most likely left some countermeasures with the other two Robins to use against him.

"Let Harvey stay here with you. I'll go to the other world and find the other Harvey first. I'll contact you through that Harvey."

Batman said to Shimizu.

Actually, he wasn't just looking for Harvey, but also Scarface.

One to contact Shimizu, and one to contact the Batcave.

"Good luck."

Shimizu raised his wine glass to Batman.

The latter remained unmoved, only turning to stand by the window.

"Oh, right, before you leave, remember to fix the electricity for me!"

Batman glanced back at Shimizu, then tapped a few times on the screen on his arm.

"Just have someone go and reset the circuit breaker."

With that, Batman leaped off the building.

Shimizu watched Batman's disappearing figure, lost in thought.

Going to venture into a world already plunged into darkness, even with the White Knight armor that allowed him to temporarily use the Speed Force, would still be tricky.

Unless absolutely necessary, he was unwilling to risk his life to be a hero.

Hopefully, Batman would continue to overcome all darkness and evil as always.

If it was something that even Batman couldn't handle, then that would mean the world was truly on the brink of collapse.

At that point, Shimizu would have to step in.

If this world was gone, he wouldn't be spared either, and everything he had gained in this world would become history.

Shimizu took out his phone, glanced at Barry's number on it, and then looked at Harvey Dent.

"Before Batman finds you, continue telling me about your world, like why it became like this."

He was talking to the other Harvey Dent.

"Okay."

Harvey Dent relayed again.

"The origin of the story is an alley. Unlike our world, in that alley, Bruce Wayne didn't survive. He and his mother, Martha Wayne, died together at the hands of a thug, leaving only Thomas Wayne to weep in grief, holding his son's dead body."

"After the death of his wife and son, the old Wayne began a frenzy of killing, slaughtering all evil. He hated Gotham, hated Gotham's evil, because it was Gotham's evil that led to the tragedy."

"So Gotham became the city with the best security in the world. After losing his target, the old Wayne also became idle. He realized that even if he killed all the criminals, he couldn't fill the emptiness in his heart after the death of his beloved son."

"He found the Court of Owls, who had gone into hiding because of his mad killings, and proposed a deal. He knew that these people had the power to revive the dead, but unfortunately, Bruce Wayne had been dead for too long, and his body had turned to bones. Even the treasures of the Court of Owls couldn't revive him."

"So, some of the Owls found the old Wayne again and told him about that door, telling him that the door possessed the power to change everything, and as long as he could open that door, he could bring his Bruce back into this world."

"The old Wayne did as he was told. He killed all the opposition within the Court of Owls, and then killed the radicals who were trying to take advantage of the situation. Finally, he pushed open the door, using his own life to exchange for Bruce's return."

"Thus, an even more terrifying Batman was born, a Batman who could drag the entire world into darkness with his own strength. Whether it was a superhero or a supervillain, anyone who dared to resist him was locked up in Arkham Asylum."

"Finally, he opened another door there, sacrificing everything, and the next to be sacrificed is... another me."

After Harvey Dent finished telling all of this, he pressed his hands tightly on the armrests of the chair, showing the unease in his heart.

Shimizu could only hear his retelling, while Harvey Dent himself could feel the personal memories from the other Harvey Dent.

Even Harvey Dent, who had stayed in the crime-ridden Gotham for so many years and witnessed countless darkness, was shocked by the tragic situation in the other world.

"That was fast. Do you need reinforcements?"

"Not yet. He said the location of the door is in the sewers in downtown Gotham. The earthquake a few days ago just broke the seal of Arkham from back then, allowing the Court of Owls to find this place again and open it. Batman has tried many methods, whether it's freezing or burying, but nothing can close the door. It's a spatial level of power."

Immediately afterward, Harvey Dent gave a more detailed address.

Shimizu knew that Batman was telling him to get there as soon as possible to stand by, because Batman believed that he might not be able to solve this problem alone and needed reinforcements.

If anything unexpected happened, he had to set out, otherwise what awaited this world would be a joint fall into darkness.

"Prepare yourself, we're leaving immediately."

Shimizu said to Harvey Dent while extending his five fingers towards his back.

The smooth wall quickly slid open to both sides, revealing the White Knight within. Shimizu then took out a pistol from the drawer and tossed it to Harvey Dent, giving him some ability to protect himself.

"Batman can't even solve this big trouble, and you're having me take this thing to risk my life with you?"

Two-Face complained while skillfully pulling out the magazine to check the weapon.

"I remember telling you a long time ago that only I can control my big toys. Besides me, no one else can move them, so don't even think about putting on the Black Gold. At most, I'll give you another dagger and a few spare magazines."

"Also, I need a powerful helper as reinforcements."

The White Knight quickly transformed into a white suitcase, and at the same time, the phone dialed Barry Allen's number.

The call was quickly connected.

"Hey, Walter, what's up?"

Barry's cheerful voice quickly came through.

"Big trouble, a matter concerning the survival of the entire world. I need your help."

"I'll be right there."

"I'll wait for you at the Walter Tower."

On the other end of the phone, Barry hung up with a solemn expression.

"Barry?"

Alice, wearing a black dress, looked at Barry in a handsome suit with confusion.

"It's Walter's call, there's big trouble. I'm sorry, Alice, this date..."

"It's okay, Barry, I understand. Go do what you need to do, go."

A gentle smile was on Alice's face.
