Chapter 78: Jiang Lin's special treatment

“It’s still early, let’s get ready, Xiao Yelina.”

Jade looked at Topaz with a gentle expression, her eyes filled with approval for a junior.

“It is my great honor to collaborate with you this time.”

Topaz, however, seemed a bit reserved. After all, this was her first time working with Jade as an equal colleague.

Even if she had the opportunity before, she was always assisting in the background.

“Still a bit reserved, Xiao Yelina~ Relax.”

Jade looked at the serious, cautious, yet very cute girl in front of her, showing great patience.

“Alright, it’s still hard to adapt for a while. After all, you… you are a senior, and when I worked with you before, I was always used to following your arrangements.”

Topaz slightly adjusted her mindset, displaying the composure expected of one of the Ten Stonehearts.

“But now we are both Ten Stonehearts, Topaz. I hope you bring your best state, as the upcoming negotiations cannot afford any mistakes.”

Jade’s tone became serious, looking at Topaz with a hint of warning.

Upon hearing this, Topaz felt a bit awkward. After all, the memory of her last negotiation with Jiang Lin, where a few words cost an entire planet, was still vivid.

But then, Topaz seemed to recall something else and asked Jade with some confusion.

“Oh, right, our keystone…”

Jade, however, smiled confidently:

“Don’t worry, Xiao Yelina, the Company can afford the compensation that genius requires.”

“Then where will we make up for the losses incurred?”

“Penacony, of course.”

Jade’s tone was calm and confident, then she slowly explained:

“Given the current situation of the former Clan Head of the Oak Family, pursuing accountability against him is meaningless. Although the armed conflict has ended, the problem remains unresolved.

Using this as leverage, we are entitled to carve out more benefits at the negotiating table.”

Topaz nodded. Just as she was about to say something more, March next to her suddenly started whimpering and rubbing against her calf.

Topaz picked up March with some confusion:

“What’s wrong, March? Are you hungry?”

As she spoke, Topaz looked at Jade apologetically, but Jade just smiled gently and said nothing more.

Seeing this, Topaz carried March to a long table laden with food.

“Food in a dream… it shouldn’t taste bad, right?”

Thinking this, Topaz picked up a flying saucer burger and tossed it directly to March.

“Catch, March.”

“Whimper, whimper, whimper…”

March let out an eager cry, as if one was not enough to satisfy its appetite.

Topaz shook her head helplessly, saying with some indulgence:

“Alright, alright, don’t be so greedy, leave some for the other guests.”

After speaking, Topaz fed March some other food, then resumed talking about work with Jade.

Meanwhile, Jiang Lin finally found Sunday’s ward.

After confirming that Sunday was inside, Jiang Lin first knocked on the door.

Knock, knock, knock… “Please come in.”

Robin’s voice came from within. Jiang Lin gently pushed the door open, then quietly closed it behind him.

After surveying the ward’s environment, he nodded slightly.

Hmm, it’s quite luxurious. It seems the family hasn’t mistreated Sunday.

“Mr. Jiang Lin? Are you… also here to visit my brother?”

Jiang Lin shook his head and directly stated his purpose.

“I’m actually here to ask him for help.”

At these words, Robin froze. She looked back at her brother, then at Jiang Lin beside her, and asked again with some uncertainty.

“Are you saying you’re here to ask my brother for help?”

It was no wonder Robin reacted this way. Regardless of who had injured Sunday so severely, his current state didn’t seem like he could help with anything.

But Jiang Lin nodded seriously.

“Yes.”

Robin sighed and said:

“I’m sorry, Mr. Jiang Lin, it’s not that I resent you for injuring my brother to this extent, but with his current condition, he probably can’t help much.”

Jiang Lin carefully observed Sunday, then looked at Robin:

“Have the doctors here said when he will recover?”

Upon hearing this, Robin immediately fell silent.

Jiang Lin immediately felt the atmosphere was somewhat off, so he changed the subject:

“If possible, I’d like to try.”

Hearing Jiang Lin say this, Robin looked at him with some surprise, neither refusing nor agreeing.

Then, Jiang Lin seemed to guess her concerns, so he continued:

“I’ll just try a little. You can watch. Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to him.”

Robin looked at her current brother, then at Jiang Lin. After a long hesitation, she finally agreed.

“Alright, I’ll leave it to you.”

With that, Robin moved aside.

Jiang Lin nodded, walked to Sunday’s bedside, and looked at the dazed Sunday. After a moment of thought, he leaned down and whispered into Sunday’s ear.

“If you don’t wake up, your sister might be split into seven pieces, Mr. Sunday. You don’t want anything to happen to your sister, do you?”

(Apologies to all readers, the author went through the latest plot today, so the release is a bit late, and there’s only one chapter. I can only see if I can make it up tomorrow.)
