Chapter 36: I know he is a flash human!

“I hate it!”

Xiao Xia instantly hid behind Yu Feng, looking cautiously at Ash and wailing.

“You don’t have to hate it so much. Come, Caterpie, sit on my shoulder.”

Ash looked helplessly at the two people hiding behind the big tree, then squatted down and invited Caterpie to sit on his shoulder.

Caterpie nodded and was about to climb up when it tilted its head and saw Yu Feng and Xiao Xia hiding behind a tree not far away.

Suddenly, Caterpie seemed to get excited and quickly crawled towards Yu Feng and Xiao Xia.

“Xiao Feng! Quickly think of something!”

Xiao Xia trembled as she shook Yu Feng’s arm, wanting him to come up with an idea.

“What can I do? It’s fine when it’s in a Poké Ball, I don’t feel anything. Oh, right, Lao Mei, come out and work!”

Yu Feng was also a bit nervous. Most Bug-type Pokémon in their first stage are just magnified versions of insects, and only a few are presentable. Unfortunately, he was also afraid of these squishy big bugs.

If it were wild, he’d just swat it away, but the problem was it was Ash’s Pokémon, so he couldn’t be rough. Suddenly, he seemed to remember something and threw out the Poké Ball containing Shiny Kirlia. Shiny Kirlia appeared with a dangerous glint in its eyes, blocking Caterpie’s path.

“Crunch, crunch.”

Shiny Kirlia cracked its knuckles and looked menacingly at the fast-approaching Caterpie. She had said no bug would get close to her smelly older brother.

“Oh, this is! I completely forgot about this.”

Ash excitedly pulled out his Pokédex and scanned Shiny Kirlia.

“No data. It’s a mysterious Pokémon.”

The Pokédex screen flashed with static, and no information about her was displayed.

If Caterpie could speak, it would probably be screaming, “Stop looking at your broken Pokédex, I’m about to be in trouble!”

Caterpie’s gaze shifted from Yu Feng, who it felt a kinship with, as it would be pummeled by the scowling Shiny Kirlia if it didn’t. Then, it turned its gaze to Xiao Xia.

“Xiao Xia, it seems to really like it.”

Ash stood with his hands on his hips, watching the scene unfold, completely oblivious to Xiao Xia’s trembling.

“Kirlia. (Don’t come closer.)”

Although Caterpie was no longer looking at her older brother, that girl was also behind him. Perhaps she would be her future sister-in-law?

Thinking this, her hands were already wreathed in scorching flames. It seemed that if Caterpie took one more step, she would punch it without hesitation.

Caterpie could only lower its head in resignation, standing silently nearby.

“Pika, pika.”

Pikachu walked over to Caterpie and patted its body, comforting it, but was then directly scooped up by a pair of large hands.

“Rather than being liked by Caterpie, it’s better to be liked by Pikachu.”

Xiao Xia hugged Pikachu to her chest, feeling its fluffiness and a wave of comfort.

“Don’t touch him randomly, be careful, he might shock you.”

Ash hadn’t even finished speaking when he saw Pikachu enjoying Xiao Xia’s head rubs.

Yu Feng looked at the cute Pikachu and also gave it a stroke, after all, this was the future Pikagod, a being with a head harder than Charizard’s.

Pikachu also enjoyed Yu Feng’s petting, even actively rubbing against Yu Feng’s hand.

There was no sudden Thunder Shock. Pikachu’s behavior already showed that he didn’t shock just anyone.

“Pikachu!”

Ash was now numb with jealousy. Why was he the only one Pikachu shocked!

Oh, and Professor Oak, though he was just collateral damage.

Amidst the clamor, time quickly passed until nightfall.

“It’s evening, come eat.”

Yu Feng sat in a lounge chair, looking at the food on the table, inviting Ash and Xiao Xia, who were still in a cold war.

“Why do you even bring a table and a lounge chair?”

Xiao Xia also didn’t stand on ceremony, sitting on the other side and looking at Ash huffily.

“Indeedee mainly carries it. My daily life completely depends on Indeedee.”

Yu Feng introduced Indeedee, who was serving him dinner.

“Ai Wan!”

Indeedee, dressed like a maid, greeted Ash and Xiao Xia.

“He is?”

Ash curiously took out his Pokédex and scanned it, finding it exactly the same as when he scanned Shiny Kirlia in the morning, which made him curious.

“She’s mainly a Pokémon from the Galar region. And by the way, she’s female.”

“And by the way, Shiny Kirlia is mainly a Pokémon from the Hoenn region.”

Yu Feng introduced to them which regions his two currently appearing Pokémon were from, but Yu Feng still corrected Ash’s way of addressing them.

“Huh, female? What’s female?”

As expected, Ash’s attention wasn’t on the word “Shiny,” but rather on “female,” which had captured his sight.

“It means she’s the same gender as Xiao Xia, just like your Pikachu is male.”

Although Yu Feng wanted to explain this problem thoroughly, considering that if he made it too complicated, Ash might not understand what he was saying, so he used Xiao Xia as an example for Ash.

“It means a girl! By the way, Xiao Feng, how do you know Pikachu is male?”

Ash, looking bewildered, held up Pikachu, unable to see where he resembled a male.

“Well, most Pokémon have certain differences between male and female. For example, a female Pikachu’s tail is heart-shaped, and for Indeedee, the female looks much gentler.”

Considering that Ash wouldn’t meet Indeedee for a long time, Yu Feng didn’t explain it in too much detail.

“Is that so?”

Ash nodded thoughtfully, but Pikachu didn’t humor him, as the food below had attracted him for a long time.

“By the way, did you say Kirlia is a Shiny Pokémon?”

Xiao Xia’s knowledge base was much better than Ash’s. She was interested in the Shiny Pokémon Yu Feng mentioned.

“Yes, I thought Ash would be the one to ask that question. But yes, Kirlia, she is a Shiny Pokémon.”

Yu Feng raised an eyebrow, but he didn’t really care who asked the question.

“Is it really a rare Shiny Pokémon?”

Hearing Yu Feng confirm it, Xiao Xia looked envious. After all, she had never seen a Shiny Pokémon before.

“What’s a Shiny Pokémon?”

Ash still looked clueless. He just felt like an outsider. He understood every word Xiao Feng and Xiao Xia said, but when put together, he really didn’t understand.

“Ow!”

Xiao Xia was so startled by Ash’s ignorance that she fell to the ground, then scrambled up awkwardly, looking at him as if he were a rare species.

“I mean, how dare you even go on a journey? Listen carefully, a so-called Shiny Pokémon is a different color from its own kind and emits mysterious sparkles when it appears.”

Although Xiao Xia didn’t really want to educate Ash on this basic knowledge that a beginner should know, she couldn’t help but be amazed by how absurd Ash was. He truly just ran off on a journey driven by his love for Pokémon.

“After all, it’s Ash.”

Yu Feng also spread his hands helplessly. After all, Ash had done too many strange things that day. He hadn’t even caught Pidgeotto yet, otherwise, Xiao Xia would definitely be even more surprised. Ash was a man who couldn’t even memorize the type effectiveness chart!

“Who said that! I get it! Then Xiao Feng, you must be a Shiny human! You also have those sparkly things around you!”

Ash was silent for a moment before making a startling remark, which left even Yu Feng speechless.

If you say he’s right, Yu Feng’s race isn’t purely human. If you say he’s wrong, Yu Feng is indeed Shiny. General Douglas MacArthur once commented: “If my Trainer were Ash, I would be truly miserable.”

“See, I told you I was right.”

Seeing both of them speechless, Ash, instead, began to gloat.

“Seriously, how can there be a Shiny human? Look closely at who’s behind Xiao Feng!”

Xiao Xia was somewhat speechless. She pointed at the head behind Yu Feng’s chair and yelled at Ash.
