Chapter 37: Please come on your own, thank you

“Kirlia? (Who is calling the fleet?)”

Shiny Kirlia, munching on a Blue Orb strip, poked her head out from behind Yu Feng, looking confused. She thought she heard someone call her.

“It’s nothing, Lao Mei. Go eat your fruit strips.”

Yu Feng stroked Lao Mei’s blue hair, intending to send her back to eat her Blue Orb strips.

Shiny Kirlia rolled her eyes at the three of them, as if wondering why there were such idle humans. However, she no longer felt like sitting back down; watching what they would say next seemed more interesting.

“Wait, Xiao Feng, you just called her ‘sister’.”

Xiao Xia spotted the blind spot. If she hadn't misheard, Xiao Feng had called Shiny Kirlia ‘sister’?

A girl’s natural sixth sense told her there was a huge piece of gossip to be had here.

“Oh? Didn’t I tell you guys?”

Yu Feng raised an eyebrow. He remembered he had already said he was raised by Pokémon, and wasn’t Xiao Xia there at the time?

“You did say that, but the question is why do you call Shiny Kirlia ‘sister’?!”

Xiao Xia found it a bit strange, as few people would recognize a Pokémon as their sibling.

“Yeah, Xiao Feng, why do you call Shiny Kirlia ‘sister’?”

Even Ash, who was a beat slower, noticed something was off. It was normal to call a Pokémon ‘baby’, but to refer to them as siblings? Not many people did that, right?

“I didn’t expect you to realize it. I was raised by Gardevoir, who is Shiny Kirlia’s mother.”

Yu Feng rubbed his forehead. It was so obvious, yet they hadn’t realized it? Indeed, he remained reserved about Ash and the others’ intelligence in the early stages.

Although he considered that they didn’t know Gardevoir, making such an expression was really too much.

Looking at Ash and Xiao Xia’s shocked faces, Yu Feng didn’t know whether to complain. When they met Coco, they would know what it was truly like to be raised by Pokémon, though perhaps Coco was raised by a monkey-like Pokémon like Zarude?

“You caught your sister!”

Ash’s perspective on the problem was indeed different from ordinary people. He was only shocked that Yu Feng had caught his own sister.

“I thought you’d be more concerned about what kind of Pokémon Gardevoir is.”

Xiao Xia’s retort was quite sharp. After all, a Pokémon enthusiast like Ash should be more interested in an unknown Pokémon.

“Then, Xiao Feng, how about an exciting Pokémon battle!”

Unbeknownst to them, dinner had already been finished. Ash looked at Shiny Kirlia, who was training Charmander, and Indeedee, who was cleaning up the mess, and felt like battling.

“I refuse. You can’t beat me.”

Yu Feng didn’t want to battle the current Ash, because the current Ash was really weak. Even if Pikachu was strong, they had only just started their journey. He didn’t have any system or anything that required him to crush Ash for points.

Ash wasn’t Gary. If he battled Gary, he’d have to consider tactics, but battling the current Ash… it wasn’t that he looked down on the current Ash, but rather that even the current Milcery could take down Ash’s team. Milcery could have evolved long ago, he just didn’t know what flavor it would evolve into.

Attract plus Round, what could Ash use to counter that? The freshly acquired Charmander? Then Pikachu and Caterpie would suffer greatly. Charmander had not only learned ‘Farmer’s Three Punches’ remarkably well, but had also reverse-engineered Fire Fang and Flame Charge, and was close to mastering Dig.

Yu Feng really didn’t think Ash had any chance of defeating him with the current Pikachu.

“But how do you know you can’t beat me without battling!”

Ash was still full of confidence. How could he know he couldn’t win without battling? Maybe he could even turn the tables on Xiao Feng.

“I told you not to dream, Ash. Look at what Indeedee is doing. Then look at what Shiny Kirlia is teaching Charmander.”

“Xiao Feng is right. You can’t beat him right now.”

Xiao Xia pointed at Indeedee, who was washing dishes all at once with Psychic power. Although she wasn’t sure how Psychic Pokémon were calculated, being able to control water and so many utensils simultaneously was clearly not something the current Ash could handle.

Furthermore, Shiny Kirlia behind them could instantly condense flames and then disperse them, and even guide Charmander on what was wrong. Although Charmander couldn’t condense flames as quickly as Shiny Kirlia, it was certainly not something a Caterpie could defeat.

“Alright, I can agree to a 2v2 battle, but do you really want to battle me?”

Yu Feng looked at Ash’s eager eyes for a battle, and his heart softened, so he agreed to his request.

“Yes, Xiao Feng, please give it your all and battle me.”

Ash struck a passionate pose and requested Yu Feng.

“Give it my all? I’m afraid you’ll cry!”

Battle the current Ash with his full power? Did he really want to be so utterly defeated? He himself didn’t even know what his full power truly was.

But if he defeated Ash now, would Ash not bother him for a long time? Yu Feng pondered the possibility of this, and he found that this possibility seemed very high.

Although Ash would constantly challenge strong opponents, if the gap was too large, he would train himself until he felt he could win before challenging them again.

Realizing that this might give him some peace and quiet for a while, Yu Feng decided to give Ash a profound memory, especially since he had just acquired a powerful weapon.

“I can’t do anything with you two. I’ll be the referee then.”

The group walked to an open space. Yu Feng and Ash stood on opposite sides, waiting for the battle to begin.

“Kirlia. (Do you want me to go?)”

Shiny Kirlia was a bit eager. She hadn’t had an official battle since she came out.

“No, I’ve decided to give him a profound lesson.”

Yu Feng pulled the love ball from his neck and held it in his hand. In the darkness, there was an indescribable cruelty about him.

“Kirlia. (I mourn for him.)”

Seeing the love ball in her brother’s hand, Shiny Kirlia mourned for Ash in her heart. Although she didn’t know how strong Shiny Gardevoir was, since it was a Gardevoir, its Psychic power usage must be stronger than hers, and it had also been made a leader by her mother and the others.

It was well known that big meant strong. Although it was easier to be hit, its stamina and move power would be a level stronger.

“Alright, the battle rules are four Pokémon limit, a 2v2 battle.”

“Battle start!”

Xiao Xia, as the referee, waved her hand downwards, signaling both sides to release their Pokémon.

“Alright, go! Caterpie!”

“Go!”

Ash waved his hand, and Caterpie instantly jumped onto the field. At the same time, Yu Feng threw the love ball in his hand.

“Gardevoir~~~!!!!”

A huge figure with glowing red eyes emerged from the love ball, appearing on the field accompanied by an ethereal and powerful cry. Its unreserved aura swept over everyone present.

Facing this figure, Caterpie’s eyes were already blank, and its whole body was shaking like a jackhammer. If it could speak now, it would surely make Ash battle himself.

“What… what is this?! This isn’t Onix!!!”

Xiao Xia was also startled by the appearance of this dark figure. She was very sure that Onix was not like this.

“How about it, Ash? It’s not too late to surrender now.”

Yu Feng stood behind Shiny Gardevoir, looking at Ash, awaiting his answer.
