“But we just arrived here.”
Brock looked at Officer Jenny awkwardly. Her words just now had really touched him, but they had truly only just arrived in this city.
Hearing Brock’s words, Jenny’s eyes suddenly sharpened, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly. She looked at Brock and Ash with great confidence and said, “I heard that thieves always return to the scene of the crime.”

Ash was very familiar with this situation; he vaguely remembered being stopped once in Viridian City?

Even though Officer Jenny had rejected him once, Brock still wanted to try to get a date with her.
“Thank you, but you’ve picked the wrong time. I’m a police officer, and my mission right now is to catch thieves.”
Officer Jenny seemed to puff out her chest proudly, facing Ash and the others with great confidence.
“Excuse me, what was stolen?”
Ash first looked at Brock with great sympathy, then curiously asked Officer Jenny what had been stolen.

Ash was also very confused about the purpose of stealing these things; they couldn’t be used to feed Pokémon, nor could they be used for anything else.

Yu Feng, with his Shiny Kirlia on his head, saw that it seemed there was nothing else for him, and was about to leave with Ash and the others, when he was handcuffed on his right hand with a gleaming handcuff.
Yu Feng looked at the handcuffs on his hand with surprise, pointed to the other handcuff attached to Officer Jenny’s arm, and voiced his question.
“You two, I’m borrowing your companion! Don’t worry, I’ll return him to you in perfect condition!”
Officer Jenny told Ash and Brock that she would be borrowing Yu Feng for a while, then gave him a look and started to maintain order at the scene with Yu Feng.
“Lao Mei, please help me get my badge.”
Yu Feng handed his Poké Ball to his Lao Mei. Looking at the situation, Officer Jenny wouldn’t let him go anytime soon.
“Kirlia? (You should keep Indeedee and that woman for self-defense. You can give me the other little b—… companions.)”
“Kirlia! (Don’t you believe in my combat power?)”
Shiny Kirlia pointed at herself in surprise. After getting a confirming nod from Yu Feng, she pushed Indeedee’s and that woman’s Poké Balls back. After all, her older brother needed to keep some Pokémon for self-defense, even though few people could defeat him anyway… “Seriously, this place is both strange and dangerous.”
Ash and Brock sat on a bench by the road, complaining about the day’s events. Being mistaken for thieves right upon arrival would make anyone feel bad.
“Kirlia. (You guys made me search for a while here.)”
Shiny Kirlia suddenly appeared in front of Ash and Brock, helplessly rubbing her forehead.
“Is this? Yu Feng’s Lao Mei?”
Brock squinted, confirming that this unique Kirlia was indeed Yu Feng’s Lao Mei.
“You’re here, has Yu Feng been released?”
Ash looked at the Shiny Kirlia in front of him, asking. After all, her presence here, did it mean Officer Jenny had released Yu Feng?
“Kirlia! (He told me to challenge the Gym first, and I don’t know the way, so I came to find you.)”
Shiny Kirlia simply explained her actions, but unfortunately, she seemed to have forgotten one thing: Ash, unlike her older brother, couldn’t understand her words.

She almost forgot that not everyone could understand what Pokémon were saying. Her older brother could communicate because he was already part of a Pokémon community with Psychic assistance, and she herself was a Pokémon.
So she Lock-Oned her gaze on Pikachu, as this seemingly silly boy seemed to understand what this electric mouse was saying.
“Pika, Pikachu!”
Seeing Shiny Kirlia look at him, Pikachu cutely greeted her.
As Shiny Kirlia pointed at herself and then at Ash, Pikachu immediately knew what she wanted to do. He patted his chest, looking like he had it all covered.
Pikachu quickly climbed onto Ash’s body, pulled out the badge case from his clothes, and then slapped Ash on the head with his tail.
Seeing Ash’s puzzled expression, Pikachu pointed at Shiny Kirlia, then at the badge case, made an electrical discharge motion, and then looked at Ash adorably.
